Hi Maryann, it is a learning curve to be sure. I only used 5mHz on my face once a month. When starting a new treatment protocol it's always best to start out slow and see how your skin body will react to the treatments. I never want to over treat. So, my suggestion would be once a month on your face. You can use the EL and EMS handles more often. Every ten days.

I don't just set the machine and expect the temp to be reached, there are too many variables involved. Hello, thanks for watching my video. :) Never use cavitation on your face. Only use RF on your face. Your facial should only be about 5 minutes total for the face. I would use Mode A power between 4-8.

Please make sure your machine has an RF mode with frequency of AT LEAST 1 MHz for use on face. 40 kHz should only be used for cavitation/cellulite. Frequency controls the depth of tissue penetration. Lower frequencies penetrate deeper under the skin! Low frequencies are considered "bulk" tissue treatments, and feel weaker because the energy is spread deeper into a large amount of tissue (fat). Higher frequency, at the same wattage, would have the same amount of total energy, but the energy is more concentrated to the surface (skin). So frequency is not exactly "strength" but rather the tissue/depth specificity. If the device has a handle meant for the face, hopefully it has an RF frequency in the mega-Hz range - all FDA approved machines for the face are at that range, as far as I've seen. (NB. these cheap chinese machines are not FDA approved, or in any real way regulated/QC'd, but they typically copy the specs of approved machines). But please, please, please make sure you know the specs of your machine before you use it! Facial skin depth is typically only 1-2mm, so deeper than that and you'll risk volume loss. Patch testing is a must to get to know your machine first, especially as these are all unregulated machines where you don't have third party quality testing and no consumer protections. Usually the 40kHz mode is ultrasound anyway, but the basic physics of low frequency = deep penetration is universal. As an example for ultrasound, HIFU (~2MHz) will impact fat at depth of 1.1-1.8 cm, whereas MFU (4-10 MHz) has a target depth of 1.5-4.5 mm. For reference: Study on the Reaction RF system showed temperature changes (+4C increase) at 8mm tissue depth on 0.8 MHz (800 kHz) and at 4.2mm depth on 2.45 MHz.* The PubMed abstract doesn't contain the authors' review/background studies, but the full article is available via Lib Gen pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/22382873/ Edit: Summary of the in vivo study can be found here: exonmedical.com/index.php/en/articles/108-core-technology-understanding-penetration-depths-of-different-rf-modes *This study was done in animals, so the numbers are not exactly the same when the devices are used in humans, but you can see the impact of frequency on tissue penetration, as the physics is the same.

Hello, thanks for watching my video. :) I started with a 40k machine and I got great results with it. :)

You absolutely should not use 40 kHz on the face. 40 kHz should only be used for cavitation/cellulite on the body. Please make sure that the device has a facial handle with AT LEAST 1 MHz RF, if that's your intended use. Frequency impacts the depth of tissue penetration, not exactly the "strength" - low frequencies will go deeper under the skin. There is a high risk of volume loss/hollowness and damage if 40 kHZ is used on the face because the energy penetrates very deep under the skin. There are NO studies on the use of 40 kHz for facial skin rejuvenation! (neither for RF or ultrasound) Almost all of the studies on use of RF on skin rejuvenation were at 1MHz above, and only a few studies were done at around 500 kHz (lowest hz) - 12 times longer wavelength than 40 kHz. All the professional machines for the face are in the MHz, and the chinese machines typically copy old cheap tech. Some machines are listed with 40k or 30k in the name, but will have individual specs for each handle, so please check those closely and patch test thoroughly before using anything on your face. Also, the 40 kHz in these chinese devices is typically ultrasound, not RF. Ultrashape, for example, has 30 kHz ultrasound, and is used for body contouring when there are at least 1.5 cm thick fat deposits (2.5 cm when pinched) and it does NOT treat skin laxity. There is a serious risk of damage, such as blisters and burns, when treating areas with less fat than this or bony areas. In contrast, HIFU (2 MHz) ultrasound devices target tissue at 1.1-1.8 cm deep, and MFU (4-10 MHz) treats 1.5-4.5 mm. Facial skin depth is typically 1-2 mm, so there is a chance of volume loss when you go deeper than that. Targeting the facial fat and SMAS layer (at 5mm) is best done by experienced operators and modern, sophisticated systems, which can analyze each patient's skin and adjust the target depth as needed. The RF electrode set up (in the handle) will also impact the depth of treatment. That's why the device absolutely has to have a separate handle specifically for use on the face, and not just on the body. 1-2 MHz systems are used for body contouring (fat reduction) too, so the compact electrode set up in a facial handle is critical to avoid volume loss/hollowness/drooping.
