Thanks for the video. I am very excited to see that RF v2 is out and am looking forward to more videos on it. I also just preordered a Nexus and ant ELRS Rx. I fly an FrSky XE, what ELRS module would you recommend?
I still prefer Mo's design because he used a BMI270 instead of an ICM42688. That said Radiomaster have made sure to use a dedicated 1.8V LDO with noise filtering to supply power to the gyro, the ICM42688 is very intolerant of noisy power which is why it gained a bad reputation on drone FCs early on, they were just dropping it into MPU6000 based designs and that doesn't work very well.
I'm on Rotorflight discord, I have an FW405 I've yet to try, in fact I've not tried Rotorflight at all yet, just not found the time to get it installed and setup, but I will! If I like it the Nexus will be my next fbl
I would suggest Flywing's own rotorflight unit for FW405. since Flywing rotorflight FC has battery voltage input which accepts the same connector of FW405 heli.
Given the package value I picked up one unit when I got the chance I have a few TRex Nitro 600NSPs as well as a Align Trex 600E. How does this handle Nitro? I can't find any specific info about it and I don't want to be a ginnea pig with my cherished nitro bids which have used Helicommand and msbrain in the past. Were any of the beta testers nitro guys? How vibration resistant is it? When it came to open source heli flight control I had pinned a lot of my hopes on Ardupilot and Cube. How does Rotoflight 2.0 and Nexxus compare?
Thanks for the video. Is the tail lock better than the VBAR? I have a ALZRC Devil 380 that a VBAR just cannot hold the tail well (wags). The rescue would be nice to have, as well.
I used to have a x380 and struggled with the tail too - sold it it a friend. They disassembled it and cleaned up everything with surgical spirits. Magically tail sorted itself! But that being said.. I like rf. Is it better. It flies as well as. If you want to to fly better.. Then yes. With work it can fly better and give you more toys to play with :)
@@RTRCTV Thanks for the reply. Interestingly, the head/shaft does feel a bit stiff, when rotated by hand, however I've failed to find what is causing it. Might have to dig deeper. Thanks again. I've ordered a Nexus anyway, just to have a play with it.
@RTRCTV I swapped the VBAR for a Brain 2, and the 380's tail is perfect. I had a Goblin 420 with an ikon, and it flies perfect, so I was hopeful the Brain would fix the 380's tail.
Inav & betaflight experience. Looking at putting my toe in the water by converting a tiny K110S to rotorflight. Looking at these rotorflight specific controllers (too big for my project) they seem very similar to Inav boards. A betaflight board designed with header pins & bec in mind. Or am I missing something?
So essentially all you need is a mini quad board... Think 20x20 stack. The k110 is a touch one to start on. It's stupid small.. Needs a 1s compatible board.. And also a brushed motor driver. Possible some older whoop style boards may work - but not sure will have the current draw you need.
@@RTRCTV Darwin FPV AIO & conversion to brushless tail. 1/2 done & stopped 12 months ago as another hobby took over. I also paused as targets at that time didn't support the internal ELRS receiver. I will put an external one on as time has taught me the internal ones just make firmware flashing difficult. Now winters coming I'll get back to it.
So all up for Joe average not allot. I guess first and foremost - lower latency. But chances are only pro pilots will notice that. Then... In the context of rotorflight.. Telemetry with ability go configure the fbl from the radio. This is also possible with an ethos radio.
