Great video of Radio Wasteland! Awesome record store! I got to get back up there! Moondog! Danzig! Misfits! And a ton more! Wow, so many difficult to find and rare albums in that store! The people of Midland and the surrounding cities are very lucky!

Steve, thanks for the tour, such a good store. Especially the prices being so easy to see which is not the case with many flip videos. Posters rule! That place has been added to my bucket list. You know I’d head straight for the dollar bins. Cheers.

Dom, he does have some great high end records and many of them are in my collection. He does have more I have my eye on and luckily most collectors in the area are not interested in them. I have visited the record store every Sunday at noon for a number of years now, pretty crazy but he is on the weekly schedule lol

Kevin, my wife says I never put her in a good mood so I will relay that lol. Dust is very hard rock I believe more in the vein of Sabbath. I have never listened to it buy a lot of people really like that album. Lords of Acid keeps grabbing my attention, question is, how much will I listen to it?

Nice spacious store Steve, thanks for showing it...I have that Solomon Burke Proud Mary LP...don't have too much by him but that's one I found in the cheap bins locally. Which are not a dollar here but usually around $5, sometimes a little over but also can be under that. Think the only dollar bins I've found were at Jive Time Records in Seattle, not sure if they still have those but I had some fun there in my early years of collecting. Cool shirt, cheers

Hi Steve! High winds in your area! Thought you were about to be swept away. Radio Wasteland is a cool name for the store. Marie Osmond! The owner sounds like a nice guy. I hear the Michigan accent. Bossa Rio! Wow! That’s a huge dollar section! Some bands are greatest hits for me. Jethro Tull is one of those bands. Cool video Steve! ✌️

Nice store with an interesting collection, very eclectic. Love the post it note on one of the albums that says "Personalized if your name is Barbie". Nice copy of the Catherine Wheel album there, I would have probably picked that up, but then I would have second guessed the price tag and put it back. Love those Billy Bragg and Wilco series of albums. They are usually going for a premium price though. Nice, big $1 section to browse through, not sure if I would find anything to pick up there (but for $1, you never know), but it would still be fun to browse through it. That Miles Davis was worth picking up a 2nd copy, good call on that one. Nice store

Mike, I have that Catherine Wheel album otherwise I would have had it long ago. Jim has a great sense of humor so he has fun with post it notes ! A lot of people go through the $1 bins. I do look at the classical once in awhile but generally I don’t go back there.

Hello Steve; Some smoki'n soul & blues in the store, which is well stocked. The Moondog LP would fit well in your collection. Stay within your budget. Like the T- shirt. Some god pick ups with the Jethro Tull, Traveling Wilbury's ( Roys glasses were due to the look of his eyes ) Bill Withers, Miles, Take care, Tina & Pat!~

That poster story definitely rings true Steve. I do the same thing at times. I have not seen that Tull poster since the seventies. Crazy. Being a completist meant more to me in the early days of collecting than it does now. So I would grab all of the greatest hits albums as they were released. They were new releases. I had to have them. They would sometimes include one or two new tracks which was nice. Do they still do that? Nowadays I will buy one if I do not own anything by a certain artist and I am in the mood to hear their music. Radio Wasteland looks like a nice store. Love those dollar grabs. Way to go Steve~ Rob/Boston
@stevecarlsonvinylcommunity9147
@stevecarlsonvinylcommunity9147 10 месяцев назад
Rob, I was the same way. I had a lot of greatest hits comps from the same artist especially in CD. It seemed like a good idea back then, you just bought it. Now, to your point 1 is all you need to scratch that itch you get once in awhile for that music. Always a pleasure to hear from you Rob

Interesting that Tony Bird was in the jazz section. He's a folk artist from South Africa. Bird of Paradise is a pretty good album and has a great pop song called, "She Loves Someone." For some reason it isn't on RU-vid. The album usually sells for a couple of bucks. It's worth it just for that song, although there are other good songs on it.
