It used to be (80’s) that FM was for model aircraft (35mhz/40mhz) and RC surface craft were AM (27mhz) but then (90s/00’s/10’s) spread spectrum frequency hopping stuff was EVERYWHERE. Now it’s pretty much whatever you want to use and personally I love the idea of the RadioMaster T-16s mk3 with a 4in1 module. The ELRS receivers are now the last piece in the complete puzzle. I’m putting my Futaba out to pasture and I’m buying something much cheaper and more functional. 😎 Great video as always. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 (Do you have any affiliated links Ian?) Edit: My bad Ian, I hadn’t yet got to the 12:30 part of the video on “affiliate links” 😄🤷🏼‍♂️

Thanks for the review Ian, excellent work as always. I can see myself using the A version on those little models where it needs to slide into the fuse but I can also see myself using the C version for my spec wings where I can attach it to a side wall in the component bay.

Thanks for the review. Matek ELRS 3 R24-P6 is still my favorite, as it has main battery voltage (up to 36V) telemetry

Stopped flying my FMS superEZ v4 and still have some motorised little gliders that need to be built. These RX'S might get me to go back flying fixed wings again. Several frsky RX's on the shelf that have good reception (1.6km on an lr4 with xm+ / R-XSR no problem) but my trust in them went away after switching to ELRS on my quads. After that maybe finally an fpv wing. Great initiative Radiomaster! Thanks for the vid! Looking forward for a fixed wing flight test!

board looks pretty nice soldered and clean, quite precise alignment compared to all the others which ship any kind of alignment and soldering quality

re: if you use elrs v3.0 you can have 5 proportional outputs, as opposed to 4 proportional outputs and 1 switch. I have been trying to get the 5 proportional outputs, without success. Advice would be much appreciated.

The only thing different that I can see between the A an C versions is the Horizontal or Vertical output pins... making one receiver slightly shorter than the other.

I am happy that there is more competition around but for now I'll stick to my Matek R24-P6 as it has more PWM outputs and wider Voltage range.

I do not fly fpv, i fly small foam planes on line of sight at park or club. why should i switch to ELRS? What i am loosing for not using ELRS? thanks

Some great info. It would have been helpful to clarify what the Batt input is for. Does this actually provide VBAT telemetry back to the TX? This area of the review was a little confused, I think you said the Batt input was a "Batt Button". The ability to send back VBAT can be an important feature for LOS fixed wing aircraft, and I note that a competitor product to this (this HappyModel EPW5) does *not* provide VBAT telemetry, so this would have been a good point of contrast to make for the Radiomaster (if indeed it does provide VBAT telemetry). Keep up the great work.

Happymodel also have the epw6 with a extra PWM channel, they look very similar to these radio master recievers ..

May be a dumb question, but can you use the C model in an aircraft, or is it strictly for surface use only? I ordered one on Amazon did not realize they were two different models.

Yes mate, They are exactly the same internally. The difference between models is only the position of the pins and antenna.

"Receivers with more PWM outputs - working with manufacturers currently to make these, 6ch, 8ch and 10ch at least in pre-production." or were you referring to... Can you join/stack 2 recievers at the current moment. thanks

@Mads Tech OFF TOPIC but I bet you will love this topic. It is a special kind of drone evolution I have not seen before combining the drone and the fixed wing somehow. It will make you wonder but it seem to work and is usually a content thay you might love at least to watch or to create something because quite unique. Put this in the yt searchbar I3D559DNa04 to watch the idea. I bet you will like at least the video and build , maybe even more.

I don't agree with your statement that there is no reason not to go with ELRS: there is at least one, it is not legal, at least in the EU, as it is not LBT. If you use it in competitions, you are doomed to be disqualified. If you have an accident, insurance won't cover you. I hope this problem will be tackled soon.
