This 2 port Muffler will bolt right on a really liven up the saw. Between the muffler and a full chisel chain those are the two modifications that will make a drastic increase in cutting performance, but be warned there is no spark arrestor in this muffler, and it will be much louder than the original, but your muffler won’t glow red hot anymore.

Well Professor, looks like another success on turning a so-so saw into a useable one. With all the flaws you mention about the saw, I would bet that many people who are not mechanicly savvy wouldn't get very good service with one. I have never seen an exhaust screen glow red hot like that on any saw. Unchecked, it is a recipe for failure. You sharing knowledge about correcting the problems will help others get some good use out of them for sure.
@Indeewoods
@Indeewoods 8 месяцев назад
@mrobsoletesvintagehomesteading yes I have several Clone chainsaws, but this one’s actually built pretty darn good of course it has a few flaws but even if we were talking US dollars of 159.99 it would be hard to complain about it. It’s been so long since I’ve had a high-quality chainsaw maybe I just don’t know what I’m missing. Lol but these are pretty good for what they are. I don’t like that they’re not made in the USA or Canada but I don’t have much control over that these days. I just like the challenge of trying to make them run good. I’m going to have to get some good chainsaws and put these up against them just to see the differences, but I know when I pull out the old Homelites and things like that they pretty much destroyed these chainsaws lol.

The homeowner/farm saws from the big companies are probably worse than the Radley, and cost a whole bunch more. The pro saws are just too expensive. Your abilities to fix the flaws on the brand X cheapo saws shows your are a skilled and smart person, and is good fodder for your videos ! Keep up the good work.@@Indeewoods

@ Mrobsoletesvintagehomesteading thanks for the kind words and I hate to say it but you’re right that’s what it’s come down to now is they’ve cloned these older pro saws and they’re actually pretty darn good with just a few little modifications. I was at a friends the other night and he’s got a Stihl MS 290 or something like that and I can go and buy $165 Chainsaw and it will out cut that Stihl and because the clones saw was such a bullet proof design, even though it’s made out of inferior parts and will probably out last that Stihl and even if it doesn’t, you could probably buy five of them for the price of that one Stihl chainsaw. I don’t like it. I honestly don’t I wish we could go back to the old days or just buying quality product but this is where we’re at in this day and age. So like everything else in life, you just have to adapt and overcome and go with the flow. But I am like you I think I’d rather just promote vintage chainsaws and have people fix them up and run those versus this cheap Chinese stuff.

@fakeusername7620 yes, they do rip really good I have two of them. I find their built pretty cheap compared to these Radley saws though. I haven’t been able to use my supmix for a while because the fuel cap is leaking and also the throttle lock broke. I’m going to fix that soon. That other Supmix that you bought he said you like the look of it is that the blue and white one?
@fakeusername7620
@fakeusername7620 8 месяцев назад
Yes the blue and white one. Havent actually started it yet although the build quality overall feels like a little upgrade from the orange one even though the design is basically exactly the same. all the metal parts have a nice black finish, the chain break feels better, the nuts and chain tensioner are better quality. only thing i dont like is that the choke felt better on the orange saw. the carbs are and air filters are slightly different. but i dont think that will affect it much. I'm gonna grease the needle bearing inside the drum before i use the saw though. @@Indeewoods

Thank you for the amazing video, I ended up taking out the guts of the exhaust as well. Using 40-1, copied your heat relief areas. I can confirm that Oregon bar with K095 works. Got the Oregon speed cut 18" bar and M72 chain kit from local Canadian Tire and it cuts through hardwood like a hot knife through butter. Looking forward to seeing the carb adjustment video, would you be able to show how you actually got the clutch off as well in that video. I watch your other one and didn't catch how you got it off.
@Indeewoods
@Indeewoods 2 месяца назад
@dustinmacneil84 awesome! Ya just make sure you are rich enough on the high jet. You need to hear a bit of 4 stroking (gurgling sound). You should hear that sound when it’s wide open then when you cut the sound should go away. If it doesn’t just turn the H jet in to give it a bit less fuel. Don’t run it lean or you’ll score the cylinder. I thought my one video explained how to take clutch off with two wrenches (if you don’t have proper tool). Ya it’s surprising how well they cut once tuned,muff mod and better bar/chain. Very smooth cutting saw. Just remember the bar oil runs out before the fuel so fill it to 3/4 full that’s it .

Very impressive for you to make that little saw cut like that. Very cost effective as a homeowner/ firewood saw or even as a backup for a pro.👍
@Indeewoods
@Indeewoods 8 месяцев назад
@joetibbles1553 yes it’s a pretty darn good firewood saw especially if you just have softwoods with a good sharp chain. It just blows through everything. One thing I didn’t tell people in the video was that chain has already cut about two cords of wood and I haven’t sharpened it yet lol, so it wasn’t even totally sharp but still cutting pretty good in the video.
@joetibbles1553
@joetibbles1553 8 месяцев назад
@@Indeewoods the fact that that was an old chain js even more impressive. Nice work. Very interesting to see one ran at full capacity
@Indeewoods
@Indeewoods 8 месяцев назад
@joetibbles1553 no it wasn’t an old chain. It was a brand new chain that I put on last fall. A Stihl RS full chisel chain but what I’m saying is I cut a couple of cords of wood with it and haven’t even sharpened it for the first time yet, so it’s just a bit dull. Once I give it a fresh hand grind, it’ll cut even better.

@Indeewoods is this carb adjustment with the 40:1 ratio?
@Indeewoods
@Indeewoods 4 месяца назад
@carlekins yes it is but it’s just a ball park setting. It’s impossible for me to give you a specific fuel mixture because everybody is at different elevations and temperatures. They come pretty lean from the factory and then 40:1 makes them leaner yet so you may want to back the H mixture screw out a little as well but of course that all has to do with how it is set right now.

@dusty1498 8 месяцев назад
@@Indeewoods Thanks. I usually mix a pinch heavy to be safe
@Indeewoods
@Indeewoods 8 месяцев назад
@dusty1498 just remember that the more oil use the leaner your mixture is meaning there’s less gas so you often have to return the car but otherwise you can melt it down pretty quick. A lot of people don’t understand that they think because you add more oil that means it’s running richer and I suppose it is richer in oil but it doesn’t make the fuel mixture richer. It makes it leaner. Just make sure you’ve got it 4 stroking and then it cleans up when it’s in the cut and you’ll be good. If you rev it up and you don’t hear that for stroking richen it up.

@toddpenney7764 one thing that I haven’t talked about on my channel yet and I actually just discovered it a couple of weeks ago is on the newer Radley’s chainsaws. They use that different bar than the original ones like the first one I had in the first video I did. Anyway, I noticed that the original Radley I bought ( I have two of them now)cut so smooth. It’s just a nice saw to run and on the newer Radley I got you can definitely notice it chatters more even with a brand new still RS full chisel chain just like the other one has so obviously the bar plays a role. If you get yourself a good Oregon bar for that saw I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. Do you have the original Oregon bar and chain or do you have the newer unbranded bar?

As of right now everything is in stock on those links. As for how do you tell if you need 76 or 78 drive links I’m assuming you didn’t watch the video lol. But anyways, it’s pretty easy the bar that says Radley is the 76 Drive link but it’s also stamped into the bar, you’ll see it . There’s some other differences like I say, if you watch the video, it explains it all in very good detail. If it says Oregon on the bar, it should be the 78 Drive link but if all else fails just count your chain you’ll either have 76 or 78 drive links. If you’re going to be doing a lot of cutting and you want the best possible chain you may just want to go into your Husqvarna or Stihl dealer and get one of their full chisel chains that will be the best chain you can get otherwise I provided some links for you for the other chains, which would still be pretty decent.
