** All my videos are organized in the Playlist** I live in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta Canada.
My Channel is mainly about what I do outdoors/Mountain Life.
I go on lots of solo adventures on my ATV/Side by Side/Vintage Snowmobile, three wheelers/Car/truck/camper with my tent and woodstove, firewood cutting and chainsaw how to videos for modifying powersaws.
A little bit of fishing and metal detecting and exploring old abandoned cabins, coal mines history etc.
Please consider Subscribing to the channel. Thanks :)
Every make and model will vary. My kawadaki mule pro has far better bearings and bushings than that ranger, but the steering rack is total junk. There is so much up and down play, it's unreal. And it's been that way since basically mile 1. That polaris has junk bearings and bushings, but their racks are pretty good
@Aaron_A_Lynch ya I think it will be. It would be cool to have the Original 304 V8 but my range wouldn’t be very far. That diesel is such a simple mechanical design and I can make my own home brew fuel, waste oil/gas lol
A Great tip I was Given by a GM mechanic for Cleaning dirty carbs from ethanol is Ac Delco penetrating fluid. Works Amazing on Brass carb jets emulsion tubes etc. It will swell rubber so be careful. PB blaster is suppose to work well to but i have never tried it!
@dusty1498 I just use Varsole parts cleaner but the thing is I don’t want the ethanol eating my check valves or eating away at the metal. Sometimes I run regular 87 octane and sometimes the 91 which has no ethanol ( yet) and I ran it for 3 or 4 months had to pull carb apart to tune it (Team China) and there was already a white residue inside. Not a fan of ethanol at all
@@Indeewoods Ethanol has Cost Me so much in time and Money!! finally stopped being cheap and started to buy premium only to find out all gas grades in Manitoba has 10% Ethanol in as per some Law (eye roll) i think its part of the plan to phase out ICE engines. Any way I have had good luck with seafoam and marvel mystery oil in my fuel (never oil) in four strokes as a fuel stabilizer. I have found using a 40:1 fuel oil ratio in 2 strokes is enough oil to keep the ethanol from causing damage
I use a dab of grease for nuts in a long socket,to hold near the end to start the thread. Same idea for any socket really that drops nuts easily. Then there’s using 2-3 Allen’s keys to make the bigger size you need. Haha keep the tips coming, I too learned a lot just by figuring it out. It definitely helps sharing the knowledge!
You got some balls man!! My Dad and I stopped right at the bypass, and yes it's dang steep.... I will conquer this hopefully this year. Well done Sir!!
@foggydew646 Yes, it’s pretty steep but there’s another climb just before you get to the peak and if anything happens and you don’t make it there’s nowhere to go but downhill and there’s no trees to slow you down so that one is much scarier in my mind I actually had to winch up that one but I’ve since done clutching modification so it should be a breeze now.
@crazyfeller5704 ya lots of work but the big thing is the pistons don’t stick up very high so it is REALLY tricky to get the pistons on in frame. Polaris and others say it can’t be done but a few of us have did it.
I don't watch shorts they are a waste of my time. I want something to watch that i can get into that lasts 20 min plus. So I am a new subscriber that is waiting patiently for more utv adventures.
@keithwilliams4247 I hear ya but others don’t watch my long firm videos. I’ll get 2-800 views on a long form video and 5-35,000 on a shorts vid. I wish more people were like you because I love making the sxs adventure content. Have you seen all my videos? I have quite a few. Check out my play list for some older side by side adventure vids. It takes a pile of work to edit these and I have a job etc to be at so I make vids when I can. I have a pretty good one I just went on not long ago I’m working on it as we speak.
@@Indeewoods I understand especially if you have a full time job as well. I just live south of you near the Rockies I love to ride in the bush just about more than anything I do. I am building a camper trailer to tow behind my side by side. 4X8 with an exoskeleton i have my frame just about all welded. It is modelled after ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-krRP61RGxY0.html. As you can see these things are not that big but have lots of potential. Mine is going to have a side door and a separate compartment in the back for food, cooler, stove etc with both doors opening up to keep me dry. I am usually by myself so like you I carry lots of extra gear. Off to princess Auto (Red Deer) to buy a few parts, take care. PS: if you are interested I will send you a picture when I am finished.
@keithwilliams4247 awesome! I have a friend with a trailer like that. He goes camping solo with his dog lots. A trailer would never ever work for where I go. Sometimes it’s hard enough making it in with just the side by side 😂 but for old logging roads or very tame trails it would be nice.
@@Indeewoods I have a dog also hence the trailer. But I plan on taking it through some narley trails mud etc time will tell I guess. Even if I have to use it as a base camp after I have gone as far as I can it will be fun. My side by side has a 100 HP with lots of torque and I think it is smaller than your friends teryex. I just bought 30" ITP mud lite 2s, with the new tires and the full adjustment of my shocks i have about 15" ground clearance. I have it snorkelled (I hope i never need it) I always take a chainsaw and a come-along and like you I seem to take out other peoples garbage often. I think those of us who are alone in the woods have to take more stuff we have no one to rely on, I would rather have to much than to little any day. I am 65 this year and have no intention to stop riding anytime soon. As long as God gives me the strength I will enjoy the great Canadian outdoors.
My grandpa taught me this, but based on how informative this video is I definitely subscribed just now 💖 I'm never afraid to learn a lesson twice and I look forward to seeing what things you have to share :)
@dusty1498 The intake boots on these are famous for leaking. So it sucked in air and dirt. The dirt polished up the cylinder walls removing the cross hatch so then it started burning oil. So extra air plus the oil would have caused it to run lean and detonate which melted the piston. The air filter was right full so that probably didn’t help and just caused it to draw more air from the CV path of least resistance which in this case was the exhaust side intake boot.
@dusty1498 I hope so. I put a little grease around the seal then I put a smudge of high temp silicone on the outer edge where it seals so hopefully that fixes it. I tested for leaks and don’t see any so hoping it’s good now.
Those tinfoil cupcake trays work great for holding hardware. You can take a sharpie & write in the bottom of each individual tray what the bolts or whatever is in each tray goes to.
@CatzAzz you got that right. I think the combination between sucking in extra air plus the oil getting in there causing detonation was the demise of this engine.
Why they put if on the turbo models maybe to slightly degree the cams to benefit the turbo better 1 degree can mean alot but that moment seems more like 3 degrees so taking that slack out at the top it would definitely change the cam degree of at least 1 of the cams
@John.strong the slack is only because the cam chain tensioner is working off spring pressure. When the engine fires up it will pressurize the tensioner with oil and that slack will come out. The top chain guide does not change anything other than to support the chain more especially at start up when the stock chain tensioner bleeds off pressure allowing slack in the chain.
@crazyfeller5704 ya it’s stuff we take for granted. I actually remember the first time a mechanic told me this I was just starting out. Glad your passing on the knowledge to these youngsters.
@@crazyfeller5704 I took video of the disassembly and noticed that cam chain was tight even though the machine sat for the whole fall winter/spring. I think it was that loose mostly because I had that tensioner out and compressed it bleeding out the oil. I still think the manual tensioner or even the upgraded tensioner that doesn’t allow it to push back in all the way will be better in the long run. Normally I would never not replace the cam chain but guys have 10,000 miles on these engines with original chains so I don’t think it’s stretched plus the engine has to be disassembled to change the chain. Polaris Engineers haven’t changed…
@crazyfeller5704 oh did I? Ya I truly believe it works. Just another layer for the oil to ride on other than the cylinder cross hatch itself. I will be interesting to see what Little Mac look like when I pull it apart.
