I wanted to say this is a great review! Honestly well done, I just bought myself this bike as well. One thing to note is that during your test, we were able to see a lot of street signs, and it is possible with that to find the location of your home. I would advise you to either go to a public park for the and not start near your home. But thank you for the excellent review!

Good review. I have the Radmission, and it was a good point about the sizing. I am 5'10" and I would say that is about the maximum size to be comfortable. I have my seat set a little lower than I should for full leg extension, but it allows me to not have to lean over the bars as much. The best thing about the bike is it's simplicity with only one gear. The bike is amazing quality for the low price with a very well built frame. It is impressive.

I'm glad to hear you enjoy it as well, Dennis! You're right about the size, there are better choices for taller riders, such as the RadCity or RadRover bikes.

I'm 5'10" and I did the same thing with the seat. It's the only downside about the bike for me and I'm thinking about buying a handlebar extension.

It’s been a year since your comment, so not sure if you figured it out already, but you can easily change the geometry on your bike. For instance, you can use a riser for your stem: www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000FGYKWS/ref=ox_sc_act_image_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 Your LBS should be able to help you out in other ways. :-)

I’m sure it was helpful to most viewers, but you spent most of your time pedaling, rather than throttle-only. I’d like to get a clearer idea as to what the throttle alone can do, without the need for pedaling.

You have the handlebars rotated downward and that makes them lower. I had the same issue and readjusted the handlebars to be more upright. you may need to adjust the grips and controller a bit after but they will be a little higher
@nivi319
@nivi319 2 года назад
you can clearly see they are bowed downward at 9:59 Loosen those two screws on the neck behind the headlight. Rotate bar forward a bit you will see the grips rise, then retighten two screws.

You can buy a stem extender really cheaply on Amazon. You're going to have to go to a sized e-bike to get the fit right for you as tall as you are. You obviously don't get a single speed bike. Great for around town and flat areas, not so good for hills. You pretty have to jump up to ~$1,500 range for gears.
@bicycleguider3072
@bicycleguider3072 3 года назад
Thanks for the suggestion. RadMission is built for flat areas, but it can also climb some moderate, rolling hills. Obviously, don't try to Everest on it. :)

Sorry I just had to say this. I'm tired of so many reviewers saying, "I think, maybe, should be, probably" when describing these ebikes. Each one of those words really mean, " I don't know" Study the paperwork for each bike before you review it. Then you all will Know what you are talking about when you are speaking. Thank you...

I'm confused. I am 5'9" with a 32" inseam - 196 lbs - and if you view the Rad website they recommend a step through frame for someone my size. I would prefer the standard frame that you reviewed. Your thoughts?
@bicycleguider3072
@bicycleguider3072 3 года назад
The suggested inseam length for the High Step version is 31" to 35", so I think it would fit you well. In my opinion, you're in-between sizes, so you could go with either of the two.

If you're going to talk about how high you have to raise the saddle, and how high or low the handlebars are for you, or what heights of riders can ride the readmission, you must.mention the bike size. This bike comes in 3 frame sizes. Each size is designed for riders of different height ranges.

CAUTION: While I can appreciate your intention of giving a cyclist information on this bike for purchase, you obviously have near zero knowledge of cycling. This review is giving your viewers extremely bad information and someone is going to become seriously injured buying and attempting to ride this bike. These single speed bikes are made for skilled and very strong riders with high genetic gifts from birth, this is why they use conventional frame angles and seat tube of 73 degrees. These bikes need to be ridden aggressively to maintain a speed of 20mph or higher. These single speed bikes require great skill in out of the saddle climbing techniques that is doubtful a beginner will have. The 50/16 gearing to keep your knees safe from harm needs 20mph so the cadence will be 90 to 100rpm. You will need to maintain a consistent 20mph in saddle riding over all terrain to avoid knee injury. The size of the bike IS as the website states, for about 6 feet riders, to tell shorter riders to buy this bike is to risk injury because they cannot clear the 31 inch stand-over height. The crankset on this bike is a big question mark, we don't know the make, a single speed bike ridden aggressively will place high levels of stress on the crank, extremely serious injury will occur if you crack a crankarm in half (low quality cranks can/and will crack). The bike also uses a proprietary non-standard chain tensioner, you need to check on the availability of replacement parts outside of RAD or this bike becomes a useless pile without it. So much more....
@bicycleguider3072
@bicycleguider3072 3 года назад
Thanks for the constructive criticism! While you have a point that the 50/16 gearing is high, you forget that this is an e-bike and it's intended to be ridden with the motor ON most of the time. Maintaining a good cadence with pedal-assist and the throttle should not be a big problem. As for the crankset and the chain tensioner, even Shimano Ultegra crankarms are known to crack occasionally, so it's not something that's limited to entry-level cranks only. That doesn't mean we shouldn't buy Ultegra. Still, there haven't been any reported cases of cranks cracking on RadMission so far that I know of. If you get a problem with the chain tensioner or any other part of the bike, you can contact Rad Power Bikes as they stock replacement parts, so it's not an issue to source any component. Have a good one!
