@HamTechRadioScannerDrones , QUESTION-1 ... Can i also do this for the 470X ? (which seems to be the latest type and currently sold most) ...2) QUESTION-2: What does this upgrade change or improve ? ... ADDITIONAL REMARKS: There's a few bugs/problems in the 470X (and probably other variations) ... A: In urban areas there's RF overload from out of band reception, mainly from FM-broadcast causing deafening/degrading on VHF & VHF ... and B: Squelch does not operate well on weak but strong enough and very intelligeable signals that should open the squelch but dont ... The lowest value of 1 is not low enough ... so we miss signals both when we remain on 1 channel or in (any) scanning mode ... we can check this by forcing the squelch to open and hear that there is a signal indeed but the squrelch didn't open .... this is a a problem with the Squelch ATTACK TIME being to long before it reacts ... C: The squelch-tail is bad ...we have a long "kercccchenk" this is a problem with the squelch DECAY-TIME being to long ... It is bad design of the squelch-circuit which is probably based on noise instead of a real carrier-detection (COR) ... Best to solve this would be to have 2 separate settings where SQ-attack and SQ-delay can be set in the menu (in milliSeconds) ...or do it in hardware by changing values of some resistors or capacitors.
I just got the latest version hardware and firmware from factory. It came with Tx 136-640 Mhz and also between 800-999Mhz. And new 8.33kHz spacing for receiving airband.
Where do you find the bootloader program? I have thge 40-6 ) V2.13C Firmware compatible with 470X/470/470L( Add AM/FM modulation switch from 18m-1000mhz (data 20240425) file downloaded, but I can't find the bootloader.exe program to install it.
@@HamTechRadioScannerDrones I did it I downloaded breezip then extracted it like you did in a video... I can't thank you enough for your patience and help.
