Rag Rope Basket 

I LOVE this little basket! Maybe because I'm not much of a sewer and... I MADE THIS!!! Very exciting for me but... it should stand as a testament to the fact this isn't as hard to make as I thought it would. The biggest challenges I faced were all around not really knowing how to use the sewing machine! (yep... kept getting an error message I couldn't figure out until I realized it was telling me to put the pressure foot down. Sheesh!) I love the idea of taking old pieces of cloth and making them into something beautiful but... even more so... what about creating a memory basket? Old shirts of a loved one perhaps? Shirts your children have grown out of that can't be passed on but can be used rather than tossed?
