"Let me just attack his queen with my knight so he has to respond and move it." Opponent doesn't repsond to threat or move queen. "Ok, what should my next move be?" I know it's painful but flying through that analysis probably doesn't help as you need to have a look at those things and find out what happened to you to go from completely winning to losing. It's interesting to see that him castling and allowing you to take his queen with check wasn't immediately losing either. I would have been interested to find out why. Also, I'm not sure you can count a move as brilliant if you didn't see the follow up!

Everyone has these kind of games from time to time , it's part of the process. The way I like to think about games where everything seems to go wrong is that you only lost one game for the price of several mistakes which is, in some senses, quite economical :).

Firstly, when I saw you pin the queen to get a fork, I thought you were better than 1200 but during the middlegame, you made me realize you might be below it.

To be fair to you I didn't see the mate in one, but I did see that the bishop would skewer the king and queen, so you were losing the queen at best.... Lesson of the game for me was CASTLE!!! Get your king and rook off any forks... Well, and you know, take a queen when it's available...

Oh man this is so good. It is really easy to sit from our screens and see the their queen exposed and you took a couple moves to see it. But you still saw it eventually. Great job. Very instructive and humorous!
