This musical arrangement and performance is a real display of creativity and technical, musical and rhythmical virtuosity. I really like it. Great duo, Bravo!
@adoud123 Yup! The score is available on our website. Click on the link at the bottom of the "more info" section below the video. (Sorry we can't post links in comments!)
Wow, this is amazing! I would say you definitely did capture the joy, virtuosity, folksiness and playfulness!! I'm so glad there are people like you in this world making music that is excellent and yet relevant =0
wooooooow, i am completely blown away. perfect in every sense.....playing, harmony, precission, camera, sound....simply one of the best performances on youtube of all times....
@jennifergala I wouldn't really call it copyin' as opposed to payin' him tribute as much as I can see where you're comin' from with respect to acknowledgin' the bits he inspired. I still do find the arrangement to be highly original though and maybe an extrapolation of Volodos' arrangement in a different style for 2 pianos instead. It must really difficult arrangin' fer 2 pianos and with such proportionate balance to boot.
@jennifergala Hahaha yes I do hope that Volodos is mentioned when they do decide to release it on CD, lawsuits are never a pretty thing and people should always be credited for their work joost 'cos it's ethical that way. G'luck with your work! Hahaha I'm still a music student so I have much to learn about composition/arranging and even more about the business.
When you still haven't learned the original of this song, this makes me want to learn both versions so badly! Still stuck on Scherzo in B flat Major and one of Beethoven's Sonatas....
Do I hear hints of Volodos ;) heheee...well done! this is definitely a work of virtuosity that still retains all the playfulness in both the composer and the performers/arrangers.
@jennifergala Volodo's deserves the props but so do these 2 two for their extrapolation as much as they should acknowledge their inspiration. ...such little writin' space RU-vid offers...
@gnanderson can we have a free version as my school wants me and my friend to play it. please? you are very cool anyway, I have been playing the piano since I was 7 and for 7 years. i am 14 now and I love music. I did Grade 8 four years ago so do you think i may be able to play this piece with another grade 8 person?
ARGH!!! Stupid youtube sound quality! Is there going to be a high quality/fidelity recording of this for sale soon? RU-vid is not doing the dynamics of this piece any justice!
This is one of my favourite Mozart pieces and one of my favourite piano pieces... and you two just kicked it up three notches for me!! I never would have imagined Rondo alla Turca in the ragtime style, but now I wonder why Mozart didn't think of it ;) Great job - I'm very glad I've subscribed.
@jennifergala Hahaha such enthusiasm. I can empathise though with how'd you'd like Volodos to be acknowledged at least. And yes, I do know the difficulties of arrangin' fer a single instrument as well with as many voices first hand. As Godowsky has proposed the difficulty of writin' for a single hand as a means to further one's composin' technique, your view is legitimate. You're quite bright you are.
guys, u're awesome. this makes me feel terrible cause i know i'll never be as good as u are, n i'm not talking about the technic or the speed to move through the keyboard, but about the creativity u put in all ur arrangements. i can't even improvise a stupid melody when i sit at my piano, n that REALLY disappoints me :(
this is a very nice version, i feel like a combination between fazyl say jazz version, a little bit volodos version and the technique as a yundi li version
The nice part is the sheet music in anderson's hand when he's going to play and then disappeared.. and it keeps appearing and disappearong during the video LOL
You guys need to put this on a cd, i want to download it and listen to it all the time!!! Simply AMAZING!!!! I wish I could play like that! I have been playing and taking lessons for 10 years and still sound bad!! You guys should come do a concert at Luther College, us music nerds would LOVE to hear you guys!!!
Thank you so much. I was looking around desperately for something that incorporated both the Fazil Say and Arcadi Volodos elements, as well as something that is original. Great job!
I play the original piece by mozart on the piano and I think this is absolutely stunning! Congratulations! If you ever come to Europe I'll certainly go to see you!
I was beginning to dispair that I'd never see another Anderson and Roe video on RU-vid. Glad you guys are posting again. Thanks for the vid, it's great.
You guys are such a good pair!! I loved your presentation today and I just had to look up this particular piece after you told us you turned Mozart into a ragtime haha :D genius!
