I seen a pair of jeans between the tracks on the express line at Leagrave station near Luton back in 1986...as my friend and I walked closer we realised there were still a pair of legs inside them with a huge amount of trailing meat and bits of bone exiting from the top of them. The poor victim had literally just done it as we were the first on the scene...I was 14 at the time and have never forgotten it. People who deal with this daily on a professional basis are true heroes.

Wow... I can't really imagine how traumatizing it would be... seeing such a site- at SUCH a young age. I'm sure it helped you develope more empathy. But I hope it didn't severely traumatize you.

I jumped in front of a train 3 months ago. I dont remember anything of it , i also dont remember anything of the weeks before it happened . Maybe because of the blow or maybe i had a psychosis. I dont know. But i lost my right leg. 4 fingers of my right hand , broke my back on 2 places and broke almost every bone in my body except my left leg. Its a wonder i survived and im glad im not paralyzed , but its still a nightmare. I dont know why i did it. I even expect a son in 2 months and many people love me. I must ve been in a very dark place when i did that. Now the guilt is eating me

The train staff here are more empathetic than alot of other people who claim to be suicidal. They say people who use the train method are cowards when these people are almost always seeking a type of poison I can't mention that is very difficult to get but painless if done correctly and were the cowards? Unfortunately society has made it so jumping in front of a train is one of the most fatal methods. I love the compassion seen here. If euthanasia was available you wouldn't get people using the train, or any other horrific method.

I wish there were more people in the world like these men. Who actually truly care about what happens to people. I hope these men will be protected from trauma and be able to continue to save other's.

I almost attempted suicide on a railway, I had ran away from my dads house after being strangled wich caused me to almost make that decison, I mean i've tried before, I tried ending my life multiple times even afterwards but that experience shook me a bit, It wasnt the closest i was to death considering I had actually been one step close to ending my life twice but been dragged back up by teachers and still, today, I remember being held tight, kicking, begging to be let go.

Unfortunately, many life problems can't be fixed by a bit of chat. It's a short term fix for something much bigger.

Indeed. When the female officer said " you are safe" I was just wondering what she meant. Like the world , the attitude of society , politics. It didn't suddenly changed because she stopped a person from making a decision about their own life and death.

What fun, to be a service user in the MH system, suicides all around. One guy told me he intended to suicide by jumping off a particular railway bridge, had tried before but survived the fall. A few weeks later he jumped again, this time with fatal result. I knew he was about to suicide, told MH staff about it but they failed to section him. Then afterwards MH staff accused me of driving him to suicide, prompted by gossip.... Hmm, the psychiatrists get paid better if they have a large clientele - (i.e. nobody gets better), and a sprinkling of suicides seems to help their argument for high pay.

We've all got our demons. The poor, the rich, the employed, the unemployed, the married, the single, .... Teenagers with hormones raging around their bodies have a particularly tough time. A kind word, gently asking "Are you OK ?", offering a cuppa and a chat can go a long way towards helping someone beat their demons back.

I plan to leave a note in my pocket to apologise to the driver of the train and make it clear that they are not to blame. I don't know for sure when I will do it but I know that ultimately I will, because I have to. I am done.

@The secular humanist no its because society has softened them up and forced them to be feminine and society is bullshit for a man, he cannot express his masculinity, his want to fight, to adventure, to travel, to explore, to conquer, to rebel, instead we are locked in bullshit jobs like prison doing things that are nothing like we want to do or are designed to do, society is not for people, its for robots

@@michaelthomas7328 I work in the rail industry and yes it’s true that drivers get as much time as they need off work to recover from the PTSD (or whatever they are feeling) after any sort of fatality. I hope that I’m not barking up the wrong tree but your OG reply was very personal and sounded like you were planning suicide. If that is (or was) the case I just want to let you know you aren’t alone and whatever you are going through will eventually get better.

@michaelthomas7328 3 года назад
@@JamesSmith-zv9nw Thanks for your compassion but any further is wasted on me I can unfortunately day that for some people there's no chance things will get better. 'Illness’ 'destitute' etc. But above all losing the will to live, tired of the injustice in the world scum seem to be guaranteed safety whilst being bullying sadists and you have hard working average Joe's arguing over if someone using the train method is selfish mostly due to ignorance at mindsets they will never feel until they are stuck in a nursing home riddled with dementia and aren't allowed out trying to figure out how to kill themself with pudding. people can be awful to each other until it happens to them I just feel for everyone. I am only here because medication helps me stick the day out now it's really took years to overcome the survival instinct and the tricks your mind plays trying to get you to believe in damnation and all sorts of horrifying shit. Your mind tells your body it's going as you stand next to those tracks contemplating if you really have the capability to step out. Do it tells your brain to scare you into surviving. Sorry I'm rambling on as usual now. If really appreciate if there is solid info the driver gets compensation as some have mentioned....
