Rain Bird LNK Wifi Module: Installation, Setup, and Connection

I hate such systems where you have to change your wifi settings on your phone/tablet. It takes so much time and steps just to turn a sprinkler on. It's quicker to walk to the basement and open the valve manually ... You should let the wifi module connect to some online server and let the app connect to that. Just like Nest and Philips Hue do.

Same, going to look at other brands. Odd that no one from Rainbird has reached out in an attempt to help resolve the issues...

Same thing I am having issues and I am IT. I connect to the rainbird via wireless, I see it connected. I go to add the controller ESP-ME and/or press next next

I am having the same problems as everyone else. I was able to connect one time and have not been able sense. The connection would only work with the rainbird connection and that would not connect to my router which is located only about 15 feet away. I called support tried everything from rebooting the installed wifi connector, deleting and reinstalling the Rainbird app, turned off my verizon wifi connection etc. I was looking forward to this connecting my water system to this timer and now I not so sure if this is going to work for me.

set water days are confusing. Hard to set the day and ON or OFF for perticular day. - OR + and ON or OFF not easy to contol on setting

If you're going to add Wifi, do it right. I have an ESP-TM2 controller with the Wifi module. It's already connected to the network. But I bought a new phone, and I have to reinitialize the controller. No! Once the controller is configured and running, I should only have to login to the app on my new device. All my other home automation apps allow this. Only Rainbird makes it so difficult. And please, please, please add some troubleshooting videos or content on your website. You would have happier customers if you took these simple steps,

Inderdaad is de wifi module zeer waardeloos. Vorig jaar al steeds meldingen van communicatie fout maar later was er dan kennelijk toch verbinding gevonden en werkte de app. Nu na de winterstop krijg ik hem niet meer aan de praat. Opnieuw installeren helpt niet dus waardeloos spul. Jammer want het RainBird systeem zelf met controller ESP-RZXe ben ik zeer tevreden over.

I think this is a very difficult system to set up and keep set up. Especially on Android. If I had it to do over, I would make a different choice.

I connected to the rainbird WiFi network, but the app says that I didnt connect to it after I click 'add module'. My phone shows as connected and has been assigned an IP by the module. Please advise.

This Rainbird App and associated WiFi modul;e is a total piece of garbage. Nothing but issues over 3 years. Get it connected for 3 months and in that time constant error messages, gradually slowing down access time to the controller, and eventually stops working. Have had to re set this garbage at least 10 times over the 3 years. The set up is a pain and can take multiple attempts, I mean multiple .......15 to 20 times. Now I can not even get it to connect. The WiFi signal is strong the WiFi unit is working because I can connect to the network with Rainbird. Been a rainbird user all my life but no more. Save your money guys as said before this system is total garbage and a rip off...

Is there a way to disable automatic weather adjustments to the timer when connected to the WIFI network?

My light will not blink at all when I plug in the LNK module. I bought the updated WiFi-compatible panel as well as the WiFi adaptor and both were installed without issue - the panel gets power but no light on the plug-in adaptor. Is there any specific troubleshooting for me?

This thing doesn't work at all .. I've tried setting up the module in a brand new RSP-EZXe which states it supports LNK wifi module. I connect to the LNK's WIFI netwerk and add controller in the android app. Comes up with an "Unknown error" every time. I even replaced it with a new LNK and tried different smartphones and re-installed app. It worked once out of the box so I could operate the zones on my app but next day it couldn't connect to the controller anymore. Whatever I try it comes up with the same result: it FAILS. The WIFI router is only 30 cm's away from the module and it says "weak signal" ? I just need an Ethernet connection (wired) from router to the EZXe, but Rainbird forces me the struggle with an 2.4 Ghz WIFI module whereas 5 Ghz 802.11ac is the new standard. Can you please come up with a simple wired (ethernet) connection to my router and an android app that works ?

On my cell phone app, I sometimes get a long buffering wait of about 20 seconds and then an error message which reads "Communication error & manual time out error, sometimes it will start loading the schedule only to be timed out again before it can fully load & sometimes I get lucky after several tries and can fully connect and start my watering. Do I need a wifi extender ,my router is about 60 feet away thru walls ?

This Rainbird app and it's wireless dongle are shit. I followed their directions to the letter to set up on my new iPhone 13 Pro. It will not connect. I'm so sorry I got away from Toro equipment.

I bought the wifi module but was never able to connect it to my box despite wiring a wifi repeater in the same room... really disappointing.

My unit worked great for about a year and a half and then suddenly stopped communicating. After resetting it starts working again for about twenty minutes and then stops communicating again, with only a red flashing light. Every time I reset it and get it flashing red and green it only works for about 20 minutes, and its another trip to the shed to reset it. Kinda defeats the whole purpose of the WiFi function. Is it possible my LNK module has gone bad? Mark

beste rainbird mijn wifi module verbind niet heb hem zelfs naast mijn router gehad in de meterkast maar zegt dat de kwaliteit net werk niet goed is ik ben er inmiddels een hele dag mee bezig geweest ik heb de router op 2.4 ghz staan ik hoop dat jullie mijn kunnen helpen mvg doornewaard the nederlands

I get Unknown Error when trying to connect in the app

Has anyone had any success using Google WiFi? According to their info they claim that devices automatically connect to either 2.4 GHZ or 5 GHZ depending on which gives the best signal. I can't connect at all even when I tried forcing 2.4 GHZ through the ATT&T gateway.
