My suggestion is free pick up from Hotel as we recently stayed at Katathani and wanted to come but we dont have own transport , iam sure a lot of tourists in same boat IE too old to have a motor bike or hire car etc Looks you have a high quality business but not walking distance for the average tourist Sure you will succeed as both of you are genuine nice people

My mate was in the same predicament as you with attracting customers as he was a litle off he main road. He bought a samlor and if clients booked in advance they would get free transfers to and from the restaurant from their hotels. Just a thought.

Croquettes take me way way back. Most of my family are from Belgium, and Xmas with my Grandparents there was always loads of croquettes, handmade by my Nana, and they didn't last long as each plate was placed on the table. Very yummy, and always with mayo.

Loved your place when I came to Kata last year. One small suggestion would be to make your happy hour a little later, if it's too early people will drift away, maybe if it was 7-9pm folks would stay longer?
The food at Maybelle’s Coffee Garden is first class by global standards….fresh quality ingredients and great value. Perhaps you could run a bus from Phuket and back on certain dates and times which your followers could book

Hi Richie and Maybell. Loving your vlogs as always. Now your opening at night too maybe a rethink about your branding name. Maybe drop the coffee part of the name, I'm thinking coffee and night time don't mix well together. Of course you have advertised opening times but I'm just thinking the name isn't as fitting now as for myself coffee is a day time drinking not night time. Maybell garden restaurant is perfect in my mind.
When we come back to Phuket in 2024 we are definitely coming. Just a suggestion, in South Africa we have a restaurant group called Spur. They mainly target families. They have secure play areas for children with outdoor play equipment and gaming consoles which the children love. Parents and families end up spending hours at there establishments. Perhaps an idea to incorporate some of those elements. We were in Phuket and Krabi in December '22 and Jan '23 and nothing like it exists there.
We have a business in Australia and it's so hard to keep on top, especially when we sell non necessary items, but pushing through, always ask the universe to help, put it out there always makes a difference 😀 . We are heading over in March were supposed to come in October, but my daughter got very ill, can I ask how is the wheather in March and April? Your videos are such an inspiration keep it up😊

Offer transport to / from your restaurant/coffee shop ( not necessarily free) ...that's the only reason stopping us from going there as we don't ride motorbikes.
Hi Richie, maybe you should arrange for an all-day shuttle bus/tuk-tuk kind of vehicle, advertising your restaurant and offering free pick up and delivery back to the main area within Phuket for your customers. I think getting to your location is the only hindrance to having more customers, just a thought. All the best. Cheers

Having owned restaurant in spain for over 10 years I feel your pain trying to pull people in especially in winter time don't go down the 2 for one meal deal or happy hour they only pay with high volume off people you have a special and beautiful eating area which is a draw in its self people who come to visit you and eat there don't come for happy hour or meal deals they have to make a effort to come to you You won't get much foot traffic as you know so putting on deals won't make any difference to your clients lot off restaurants in spain put there prices up in high season that's how they survive in winter So good luck have good season

I think you have a great business and you have a great brand. Having stayed at Kata Beach and visited your fine establishment, I found it a little far away on scooter and that main road was kinda scary, plus it is easy to miss the turn off. Travelling at night on scooter dangerous and trying to get there via Grab a challenge. You could offer a shuttle to and from hotels. Relocation may be a better option as people will follow you. It's ultimately about location.

It is a popular idea here in Australia. On the other end of the chart, perhaps pensioners/ retirees get a reduced bill? Say 50% off with a pension card? Hi Richie and Maybelle. You have a wonderful garden around your coffee shop, but unfortunately you’re rather close to a busy road with not too many pedestrians wandering by. My suggestion to encourage customers to the coffee shop would be to design a small postcard sized colour leaflet advertising your place, with texts written on top of quality photos of your garden and a location map. Printed colour both sides. Then get that distributed to all the local hotels and guesthouses etc. within walking distance. You have to remember the majority of visitors are very transient population, so the distribution exercise might need to be repeated every month. As a previous owner of a successful restaurant I’m well aware that certainly in the early days it’s hard work getting bums on seats, but I would advise against too many happy hours or 2 for 1 offers etc. that type of promotion often just eats into your profit margins without really increasing footfall. All that said, (and I don’t want to sound too negative) but I’m not at all convinced that the so-called coming high season in Thailand, and particularly in resort towns such as Phuket is going to be very busy. Tourist arrivals so far are way below what we saw last year at this time and a larger proportion of European arrivals appear to be heading either direct to the islands or up north on culture trips. So, be positive, knuckle down, and get some promotions moving. Good luck.
