I'm from California, but this Man...He taught us! As a child, Rappers Delight, Raisin Hell and LL were my rap albums. I had a record player that folder like a lil suitcase with ABC's on it. Took it everywhere. Beastie Boys, CMW and Too Short were my first tapes. At 13, after school & football practice, we rode home to iron our jeans while watchin Ed Lover and Dre for some MTV Raps. 1987 to 1993 was this Man! Before Ice T, before NWA & Cube, before bumpin Pac...We was knockin Pain in Full-Rakim, EPMD-Gotz to Chill, BDKane, MC Lyte, PE, Stetsasonic, Heavy D, Guy, Tone Loc, LL and Spice 1. Thing about Rakim, is he stayed Solid. Same flow. Even when Twista, Bone and 40Water was spitting at 100mph, The Goat was calm and collected. I don't know if he has any awards, but there would be no Dogg Pound if not for this man. Kurupt has said that painly. You deserve much honor and much radio play.
