@@SolidSnake8295 You're not one of those people who believe he lost his comedic balls after he got married, are you? He's just as funny and as edgy now as he was before he tied the knot.
Incorrect. There were other signs, but I knew he had his balls clipped after he made a serious argument that women are smarter than men. You obviously haven’t been paying attention if you honestly think that’s something Bill Burr of 2010 would do.
I love how Ralph touches Bobby's hand at the beginning like "gimme a sec I'm about to say something that might get us all killed or ruin our source of income"
I love how this seemingly minor moment ends up driving the entire narrative of New York's relationship with the Soprano crew for the rest of the season. Writing is so good.
I was thinking until Ralphie died, but the bad blood b/t the Lupertazzi and Soprano crew that this fued contributes to does extend until the end of the series
@@boycie2.099 See... that's the real undertone here also. Look at Patsy. He is not happy. His beefs with Tony have been adding up ever since his twin brother was whacked in the first season. There's a theory that Patsy actually had Tony whacked in the final episode of the series.
The only guy that really scared me in this show was Patsy. He rarely laughs, he is cold, calculating, competent. Tony surely saw him as a potential threat. Very well acting. "It won't be cinematic."
Patsy only laughs at the funniest joke... when chrissie said “ when Vito was always talkin about greasin the Union who knew that’s what he meant” and everyone but chrissie and patsy just looked gloomy but those two were cracking up. Gold!
The actor was originally billed to just play Philly Spoons who was seen and then whacked in like 5 min. He impressed Chase and the guys so much that they created a part for him as Patsy ... Philly's twin brother. And he wound up doing a phenomenal job and becoming a huge part of the series.
And I still think he was behind the hit on Tony to end the series. Outstanding grievance over his twin brother that he's kept buried, did whatever was asked of him for years to deflect suspicion, struck when he saw that Tony lost most of his support, and Patrick is about to wed Meadow. If that theory is the correct interpretation, it makes Patsy the Littlefinger of the show.
Sil was seeking to reign in Chrissys immature impulse to joke around, like with that "get wings" remark. Captains, even acting captains, don't joke around in such situations. This is how older more senior managers groom younger inexperienced managers.
@@RaptorFromWeegeethat's why Ralphie had such a hard time becoming a captain (beside the obvious hate from Tony) dude couldn't resist a witty remark or like here a very dangerous joke.
That look Silver gave Chrissy was pretty much "you better be taking this shit seriously, cause I know, as well as everyone else you don't deserve it over other people "
Once you become a manager you can't joke around the way you did when you were just a made man. Its the same thing in the corporate world. Silvios setting a good example. Thats why he's the trusted consiglieri.
Konundrum .... What is that?.... I've heard that said on American movie clips before but always wanted to know what drug it refers to? Just curious....
I really hate how people love and adore Paulie WITHOUT acknowledging he made a gossip column to NY and ignited hostility between his best friends and an UNDERBOSS from NY who does business with his own crew. Disgraceful: Paulie is a complicated character. He’s loyal, but his big mouth is a liability
Like Tony said to Beansie in Florida, "has he (Paulie) ever been put to the test?" There really has not been a situation on the show when Paulie had the chance to change families and us viewers find out if Paulie wants to stay where he is or will happily go to New York. If Paulie did not find out that John was playing him with saying Carmine asks about him Paulie would still have been kissing John's ass and telling John Sopranos business.
Tony is acting smart here. He doesn't want to seem uptight by reprimanding Ralph for the joke about Ginny Sacks so he laughs but says out loud “c'mon it's a mans wife we’re talking here”. Now Tony has covered his back, he can always defend himself afterwards by saying he told Ralph the joke was inappropriate.
he acted like he was never there he told john "he knows better than to make a remark like that when I'm around". Was kind of surprised a gentleman like bobby who also had weight problems was laughing though
1:23 "I'm talking here." 😆😆 I love how Little Paulie is always getting hit, smacked, getting smashed in the face or in the back of the head with a glass bottle or thrown out of a window. This guy can't catch a break. It's hilarious 😆
@@galleryofrogues that's true. Little Paulie was not made. However, his uncle is Paulie Gualtieri who was a Capo and later Underboss. Going after his nephew is the same as targeting him. Little Paulie was under Paulie's flag. I'm surprised how some of these guys crossed Paulie without getting whacked.
I loved Silvio's facial expression when Chrissy says that stupid line about getting wings like Paulie... Silvio was thinking to himself if Chrissy should of got it or if he sees it at some joke or game. Patsy should of been the acting.
@@trinidadjames203 Haha, no sht. Chrissy walkin into the Bing with Paulie wings. I can see everybodys laughing and making fun of Chrissy while Tony is silent with a major pissed off look.
I love how Ralph shaved 3 pounds off the original number for some reason. Like a 98-pound mole joke would be crossing the line, but 95 pounds was fair game.
I'm pretty sure the reason for Silvio's brusque "I'll talk to you later" was because of his distaste for the idea of Chris getting 'wings' in his hair.
King MultiGenre yeah but anything said about Ralph that's disrespectful EVEN his kid he deserves, God he was such a piece of shit. That hwhore that he best beat to death was somebodys daughter!!!
He doesn't like Christopher because he knows he's a junkie and can't be trusted for serious stuff, and that he doesn't deserve to get promoted to captain. it's nepotism by Tony, who himself became boss that way. For that reason the old timers never liked Tony, and disapproved of most of his decisions. And by promoting Christopher so much you can see how the old timers get increasingly more annoyed with Tony. And if you think about it, they were right, Tony basically ended the NJ Italian mafia, just by whacking so many people including his own crew Tony himself in the end had no choice but to admit it was a mistake to try molding Christopher to be his right hand/successor with him being an addict and whacked him
Silvio knew it would not end well with Christopher when becoming Capo his mind was on getting wings in his hair like Paulie. He knew he was talking to a dead man.
R.I.P. To the late James Gandolfini you was/were/is an excellent brilliant actor. James Joseph Gandolfini Jr. (September 18, 1961 - June 19, 2013) aged 51 then ) was an American actor best known for his role as Tony Soprano, the Italian-American crime boss in HBO's television series, The Sopranos. He was widely hailed for his performance, winning the following three Emmy Awards, three Screen Actors Guild Awards, and one Golden Globe Award.
Hilarious how Silvios talks about no Ill will towards Chris for being the acting Capo when it's obvious at the end Silvio holds some ill will towards him.
Silvio to Patsy: The floor is yours. Patsy to Little Paulie: Go on, tell em. Little Paulie (moments after telling them): My uncle's looking for at least 10 - Patsy: I'm talking here! LMAO
It's all formality. Patsy is a Made Guy, and Little Paulie isn't. Normally "associate" level guys don't get to talk official business matters. So Patsy as a Made Guy acted as Little Paulie's "champion" in the matter to bring it to the table. From there Patsy gave Little Paulie the ok to plead his case, and then it was up to the Made Guys to discuss and resolve. That's why Patsy chastises Little Paulie when he pipes up, he's already been given consideration, and he doesn't have a say in the deal making.
Patsy is the most underrated characters in the series. Always had an intelligent look to him, one of his sons went legal just like Meadow and they eventually met (which is wonderful but I wanted to smash tbh), would kick the shit outta ya however, like he did at the construction site argument with Chrissy, and played it smart until the end where he probably killed Tony and became underboss, I think.
Patsy promptly sent Little Paulie back to Youngstown to tell Uncle Paulie what Ralph had said about Ginny. They should not have screwed Paulie & Co. out of those 10 no-show jobs...and then putting Chrissie in charge of Paulie's crew...Patsy was pissed.
@@deetheg6834 the way that I remember it, Little Paulie told Paulie about the Ginny joke when he visited Paulie in prison...and then Paulie called Johhny Sac on the phone and told him. Patsy put all of that into motion.
@ that's not true. Silvio didn't agree with Tony's decision to make Chris acting capo because it was only because Tony wanted Chris to move up fast and eventually head the family. Silvio knew it would cause a problem with Patsy because he was logically in line to take over Paulie's role. That's why Silvio ordered Patsy to loot the job site, it was to keep him from being disgruntled with the decision.

@@colderplasma Yes, obviously, and then he made a dumb fucking joke. Especially considering he had just shafted Patsy, was in incredibly bad taste
This entire clip showcases some of the best use of jokes in the show (not the best jokes, just clever use). First in the way that Ralph's joke went over really well but then gets turned on him later. Second, Silvio's lack of response to Christopher's joke about Paulie's wings
Only because of Paulie's grade A+++ idiocy. That joke nearly got everybody brutally killed, Johnny Sack and Paulie included. And if Paulie had a brain, he never would have ratted on Ralph here no matter how much he hated him.
@@geordiejones5618 "soldier"? Lol...Little Paulie was just an associate, that was why Christopher and the others were able to smack him around like a bitch.
@@nodinitiative Little Paulie was pretty stupid. The actor portraying him was already in his late 40s in this scene so it stand to reason he'd never graduate to a Made Guy, that is unless Tony was indeed whacked and Paulie elevated him.
I don't think he's jealous, I think he's just a tiny bit miffed. Silvio probably thought that Chris was too immature for this kind of promotion, and that flippant joke probably just confirmed it to him.
Right, right, right. Silvio's acting as a middle point between Tony and his men, and he knows there are some veterans who would've diserved that promotion. So, his attitude towards Chris would be like" "At least he gotta prove he deserves this honour"... then Chris starts dicking around. Ergo, Silvio's face.
You are joking, right? Chris was a complete fuckup. He couldnt wipe his ass without someone holding his hand. And then were his liabilities which would have automatically disqualified him from any leadership position. I suppose if you are comparing him to Paulie he would come out a winner on brain power but not by much. And at least you could count on Paulie not to disappear for three day on an H bender. Paulie also knew how to control his bad temper while Chris could not. He killed that waiter in a public place because he disrespected him and also shot at the kid at the bakery in broad daylight. Very high risk actions that are not going to get you very far in the mob UNLESS you have the persona where you walk into a room and scare the shit out of everyone which Chris did not. No one had any respect for or fear of the guy.
It's the power dynamic: if the guys can agree it between themselves that's the best thing as Tony doesn't have to make a ruling and appear to "take sides" - someone (sometimes both) will end up unhappy. Only when an agreement can't be reached does he step in through Sil.
No lol, Tony isn't present for business orders because of wire tapings. If Tony is caught giving orders he is implicated in all their crimes as conspiracy to conduct organised crime. He like other bosses act through their subordinates to avoid this issue. Which is why Tony wanted Junior to take the heat
It's started season 1 when Tony started to play boss. He did so many things wrong and against all logic and the code. How this whole joke thing went was only one of the reasons why he was rubbish leader and only though himself and not the family.
Tony was trying to prepare Chris to take over one day. Gus Fring and Tony both knew better but both made the same mistake, you can never trust a drug addict.
