Actually, I wonder if members of the Lupertazzi family might also make jokes about Ginny behind Johnny's back as well. If that's true (and I don't know), imagine having to convince them that this was the reason they were going to war. Carmine might just tax those guys but Johnny would probably figure out a way to kill each of them. That's my feeling anyway.
Yup. Ralph’s problem was that his joke reached Johnny via Paulie and then he bungled an attempt to make peace. Also, in my headcanon Paulie may have fanned the flames even more by putting his own spin to the joke incident. He hated Ralph and was known for “ misremembering” things.
@@WorldWar2freak94 Nah if anything he softened it. Ralphie said she had a 95 pound mole removed from her ass, but when Johnny Sack mentioned it, it was only a 90 pound mole. Paulie dropped a whole 5 pounds off it, lol
@@CooManTunes thank you. Forget about honor. I can understand blatant disrespect but killing someone over a joke is beyond petty. Nothing masculine about it.
@@evolutiontail5697 i mean thats what happens when you try to pretend and lie to yourself that family, honor and blood mean shit and isnt just business, that this crime group is diferent because they think they are like family. I mean look at Tony, for all his talks about keeping busness going he killed Ralph over a horse (and probably the girl) and sparked a war because someone was an asshole to his daughter.
@@williamhenning4700 yeah plus there's no way Jonny wouldn't have his ear up against the door before he walked in he always was getting tid bits of information one way or the other
No Sil "fuckin every slut you got workin in da place" Dante wasn't monogamous. Bobby and Johnny Sac were, and they were laughed at by the other guys for it.
@@Lorenzo_Lucci he wasn't an idiot to attack a whole crew. He looks very emotional and suspicious, so even if he didn't hear exactly what was said he had a good idea. He obviously knew everyone was joking about Ginny, Ralphie was just a scapegoat.
Mos Eisley To be in the mafia, hypocrisy is the last thing you should think about. Remember how Tony went to great lengths to save Ralph from being whacked, and then killed him himself, for reasons unrelated to business, despite otherwise saying 'this is a business'.
@@YD-uq5fi speaking of hypocrisy, all the mafioso are Roman Catholic. Thou shall not kill Thou shall not commit adultery Thou shall not say the Lord's name in vain Thou shall not covet thy neighbour's wife But fuck Vito for being gay!
After Little Paulie tells him about Ralphie's joke: -He said that? And you think that's funny? *Thinks to himself* Not as funny as my zip code and bear jokes.
Tony really eases the tension when he says “when we’re not playing potatoes welcome to the Garden State” when they all stopped laughing as soon as he walked in it was a dead give away.....such brilliant acting
As gargantuan as that woman was, and as many times as they make fun of him for being married to a big woman Johnny Sac and Ginny Sacrimoni were happy and loved each other. That's the only exception to the either loveless or non existent relationships these guys have.
He and Bobby Baccalieri didn't have goomahs, they were vry loyal to their wives despite their weight and respulsive looks (I'm talking about Ginny and Janice)...
RB2331 Yeah lol. There was a later episode where Ralph was talking to the guys about the trouble he was in with Sack and when he mentioned that all of them said stuff about Ginny, every last man denied it. It was FUNNY but at the same time u clearly saw the hypocrisy!
Imo the funniest moment on the show. Not only at that moment, but his laugh throughout the entire scene. Then to top it off, that face you pointed out 😂😂😂. Fuckin gold
say what you want, something about the aggressiveness of how johnny came into the room tells me he knew exactly who they were talking about...he knew...but couldn't prove it so he let it go in his mind.
Ddlala63 i thought about that to but no that doesnt make sense..john was an old school G and if he had heard what they were talking about he probably would have just left and started war proceedings to wipe them out.no way a man like john just takes that type of talk and brushes it off
I love how as the series goes on Tony realizes that he can’t joke or laugh about Ginny for the sake of John’s ego and honour, but then the material for jokes slaps him the face and Tony has to try not to laugh… “she’s got the weight of the world on her shoulders” - Ginnys brother
The best one is when Johnny shows Tony his new car. I don't remember what make it was but it was pretty small, small enough that Tony knew for a fact that there's no way Ginny Sack's fat ass was going to fit inside of it. When Tony asked Johnny how Ginny liked the car, he says something about how she can't get in it because of her "bad calves". Tony immediately smiles and has to suppress his laughter because he knows that's bullshit.
They had to all kissing up on the boss. That's the idea. Remember when Tony got rid of Feech La manna, Tony had a flash back, how LaManna was angry of Tony popularity. Look it up.
+Alain Portant Oh looky here, another RU-vid expert is the authority on the Italian Mob This one happens to be a French geriatric "Point is" lololololol what a dweeb
Snarky, the Cat That joke was funny. It basically implied that Ginny's butt is twice the size of a regular butt because she's fat(though a girl having a big butt doesn't mean she's fat)
Although Tony's joke was funny, it maybe wasn't the funniest, but yet all the guys laughed the hardest at it. It's because he's the boss! Same at my work haha
I like how this theory is displayed in the fifth season when Carmela says they suck up and laugh out of fear and then later Tony notices them supposedly doing so during a card game lol
@@luigi2891 i think at that moment he was seeing who feared him enough to laugh and Feech was the only one looking serious. that pissed Tony off more than the fake laugh.
0:47 I know there's the thing Carmella said about Tony's crew laughing at his jokes out of fear. But to be honest, I truly think Tony's "haul ass" joke was the best out of all of them.
I love how furio doesn't get involved with the jokes, which he probably finds in bad taste and disrespectful. Not to mention it being more Americanised/western humour that he probably doesn't find funny
Brilliant writing that shows that even something predictable can be utterly hilarious. You just know that Johnny is going to walk in any second, and the fact that he walks in just after the funniest punchline is brilliant. It's like a crescendo.
Ehh. Looking back. It seems like he knew. But he wouldnt be able to nor was he in any position to start a war. He was clearly one of the if not the most intelligent boss of the show so he knew that crews in both jersey and new york behind his back cracked jokes about her. Ralph pretended to resepect him and went to him for advice on many occasions, with johnny even convincing tony ralph could be captain material and sparing his life. To johnny ralph not only insulted his wife, but had the audacity to do so after how much he helped him was the ultimate disrespect.
