I just bought a one owner 2015 ram R/T single cab and I found out through research that dealers are charging upwards of 5 to 6 hundred dollars just to change the spark plugs on one. That’s ridiculous .I’m glad there are guys like you to better educate ram owners and do it yourselfers like me and save us a lot of money at the same time. And changing the plugs on one of these really isn’t that difficult and certainly not worth 6 hundred dollars. Thanks man appreciate your help! 👍🇺🇸🛠
I have a 13 1500 with a 5.7 and I just did this last night. Disconnected and sprayed some electronic cleaner. Since last night I’ve driven over 100 miles. Light is no longer flashing. Hopefully it stays this way. Thanks man!
I had the same thing for a month and I cleaned the cables, I bought a liquid to clean electrical cables, thank you, it was very useful, my sensors are all new and the mechanic said I'll give you a diagnosis for 150 dollars, I only bought the electrical cable cleaning liquid, I only paid 10 dollars I'll give you a thousand likes Comentarios
I put new wheels and tires on my 2024 Power Wagon. 17’ to 20 with 35” and the first thing that happened is the front left tire with the same error message. So it is at Dodge dealer and thank you because I’ll no doubt get that bill you mentioned and I’ll be so much lighter by much more than $600 hundred bucks. At least I have some ammo now to protest this. Thanks.
I’ve got 2016 ram sport, with push button. I just got the truck apart and I think your truck is Non button start? If non push button start you have that tpms module but if you do have Push button start tpms is actually doing ALL communication via the RF HUB that is located behind driver rear seat on wall.
Thank you for putting this video out!!! My husband done crushed his iPhone and all kinds of things went wrong for him while he was scoping out this problem. Said he searched the internet for 45 minutes googling the specific code and couldn’t find anything. I google searched and this was the second video after the dealer video on the TPMS Sensors only. Helpful for off-road drivers!!!
I just bought my first truck. I love Ram.! I appreciate this video. When I first bought the truck I said that I would do everything to keep it in good condition. I bought it at a used car lot. The ABS light was on along with the brake light and tire light. I just paid 617 to have to replace my abs sensors!!!! I diffidently will continued watch your channel!! Thanks
Thanks for the video, my 2012 ram 1500 shows two dashes for each wheel on the instrument panel, all tire tpms valves are working. I tried unplugging and cleaning the connectors on the tpms module, but still not showing tire pressures. Did you have to drive it for a while or did it start working immediately after you cleaned yours?
Thanks for the info. I bought new tires and the left front sensor no longer works. Took it back to the tire shop twice. They replaced the module and still no reset. I'll follow your guidance. Thanks.
Awesome video, I’m going through the same problem. Just had the bad sensor changed and the next day it came back on. Checked the dash and it was the same sensor.
YES I WILL SEND A PICTURE WHEN I FIND IT. I THINK YOU ARE RIGHT, ITS JUST ANOTHER WAY TO GET YOUR MONEY. I HAVE SPENT A LOT ALREADY. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.
My 1rst TPMS rig...2500 4x4 diesel... How did they manage to shove shit like this down our throats? Any truck owner with .001% of a brain knows to check tire pressure and not just kick or eye ball it. We went from hot summer to cool fall over night in Kingman, AZ and OF COURSE my TPMS showed a low tire pressure on the left rear. I wish I could get shed of all this shit. Good vid...thanks.
I know you commented 5 months ago but is it in the same spot for the ‘19? I changed my tires & rims and my gas mileage has gone down like crazy ever since.
Thanks! My tire pressure has been going crazy the last week showing low tire pressure on one tire them all the sudden it's another wheel. Sometimes it shows two wheels are low when they are not. I'll try to clean it up and see what happens
May want to check with whomever did service on your tires last. Some vehicles fail to relearn the new position of the tires if they were changed from their original position and will need to be re-synched to the cars computer.
Thanks for your video... Its great.. Im. Also in Phoenix I just bought a ram 2014.. With alot or issues I starting to work on all the codes and lights I got pretty much all done but the stability control light... Don't know what it is... Ohh also. Fuel. Sender unit Thanks again Do you have any of these issues too...?
Javier Alonso no I never had any of those issues mine only had 130k when I traded it in and bought my 2019 (don’t buy the 2019) I know it sounds silly but check fuses first and if need to reset the whole computer there is cable under the driver dash near the pedals that should reset the whole system, I found once I pulled it and reset it that it fixed other issues, also just a simple obd dongle is good because you can reset the whole system as well
Scott I have a 2019 ram 1500 classic and one sensor drivers side rear ain’t working, I don’t go 4 wheeling or on beach , but what you showed us here if I unplug it and put it back maybe sensor might work again?
Is this sensor four all four wheels? or just for the left front? I had new wheels and tires installed, went from 20's to 17's, had new sensor installed with the wheels, had them programmed to the truck, but the R/R won't stay activated, I rotated the tires to see if it was the tire or the truck and the problem stayed with R/R. Thanks for a good video,
Need some help fam. I have a 2016, 1500 4wd sport. Four years ago I lifted the truck and added 35x12.50. A day later the front left sensor stop reading completely but the other three tires show a psi. Long story short all the sensors at all 4 wheels test fine- I have it checked twice actually. I figure it’s the control module. I get under the truck and the module is nowhere to be found, not even in the location in your video. Does anyone know where else it could be mounted??? FYI disconnecting battery resets everything and all four wheels show a reading, but after 20 miles the front left goes dead again.
I Don't work for dealers nor independent shops. However $600 to do the work is reasonable. Each sensor installed in a wheel is about $75 and the reciever module installed another $300. They have to do some programming so yeah $600 sounds good. Although only one sensor is bad you know the other 3 will follow or die (they operate on a small battery) so you might as well do all. For most of us cleaning the tpm connector will not solve the problem and for few the problem is going to be the wiring harness. Of course if you can work on cars you should do it yourself. But most cars require a special tool for tpms so you need to buy that for few hundred $$$. I personally think this job is best done at a reputable tire store...they probably know more than dealers and would be cheaper. I HAVE SPOKEN!
The point of the video was the tpms system wasn’t bad, because would have wasted $600 on just module then still had to pay for the sensors in each wheel which would have made it close to $1k. All because the dealer was too lazy to actually figure out why it wasn’t communicating.
Thanks man! My LR has been on causing issues with state inspections. My truck is a conversion from dealer with 6” lift and 37’s but it’s a dealer conversion so I was raged when this has been off and on issue...
I've got a 2016 Ram quad cab1500. And my tpms module is not at that location.. already going on 6 months and it's driving me crazy. Tpms light is allways on.. but it's not reading the passenger rear tire.. the tires have been rotated already and still not reading at that location.. any help will be great
I don’t know if you have or not but have you had the tpms modules in each tire tested, your local tire shop will usually check them for free. The other thing that can be done is to take the battery terminal positive for few hours and see if the system resets good luck
Hi thanks for responding back. Yes I've had the Tpms on all four tires tested and they said there reading good. They said it was the Tpms module. But I will have my brother disconnect the positive see if that works.. 😊 thanks
Robert N. Great video help a lot, would you happen to know where all the sensors are on the 2011 4x4 oh, sure would like to check them out. Much appreciated
Thank You Robert...Most of the rest of the sensors are in a sum what smart place they are right above the gas and brake pedals. The main module to reset the truck is there as well. I unfortunately don’t have my truck anymore but any questions that I can answer I’m happy to help.
Scott - good video. I want to run 2 sets of tires (street & A/T) & do not want to buy TPMS's for the 2nd set of wheels. Is there a way to disable the TPMS module?
Hi Scott. I have a 2010 dodge ram 1500. So are you saying the TPMS module has to be changed if you have one tire not recording air pressure or do you just replace the sensor on the tire?
Generally that’s just a bad sensor. Go to tire shop and they will check it for free....if it comes back good then there is an issue with the module in most cases the connections are just dirty
P I have a 2012 1500 Dodge ram but I have issues with my tire sensor I'm in the process to order four new brand new tires and you show me how to disconnect the sensor to clean it and I'm going to do that and see how would that goes I got tire pressure about 15 psi over the limit no 50 psi's
Great video! I’ve been having this problem recently and dealer has fixed or reprogrammed for couple times and then finally replaced all sensors and module which took them several days. After all that, same problems. Tpms service required sign shows up and the numbers are not showing. Could it be module or the cpu at the dash? My front end is covered and I don’t go off-roading like you so I doubt that I have any issue of getting it dirty.
Brian Kim most likely it’s the module because that’s what tells the computer that you have wheel sensors, if it was the dash you would have a host of other problems. Which year do you have 2009-2013 on the front on the 2014-2018 they moved it. Best way to test is to unplug and start the vehicle and go for a drive then shut it back off plug it back in and go for another drive; also that will give you an opportunity to check the connector and make sure that it’s clean going into the module
Just purchased a 2015 Ram 1500 (78k miles) that they put new tires on. The tpms is reading wrong...too much pressure and the psi changes from tire to tire. What do you think the issue is and where is the module located? Thanks for the help.
Hi Jimmy I’m not 100% sure as to where the location of the Module is on that model, but I’m not sure if you have tried to disconnect your battery for a minimum of 30+ minutes, many times this allow the system to reset and recalibrate especially if you weren’t having any problems before. Good Luck
As far as I know there was no switch under the steering wheel area. I thought the same thing. When I took mine to dealer I asked them to show me the bad module that was how I found mine
It’s most likely in the wheels. I would take it to Discount Tire or tire shop and have them test the sensor. They will usually do it free and if it’s bad they can replace it for fraction of the cost a dealer would.
I reached to Ram a couple of days ago and there customer care would not tell me, but I am going to call the service department at my local ram dealer Monday and try to get them to tell me the location
I tried reaching out to a couple of dealers but non of them would tell me the location of tpms module on the 2014 + Rams....I’m going to try and search for it on my 2019 Ram and see if it’s in a similar location
Very helpful. Thanks for the video. My dash reads service tpms at start up but my pressure reads on all tires. Wondering if the module is faulty or just needs to be reset. Any tips on that?
Douglas Rondon not sure what year you have but that sounds like it needs a reset, mine was showing 3 of the 4 tires with pressure but I discovered that it was reading them in the wrong location, I unplugged the module started my truck with it unplugged then shut the truck back off plug it back in and it should reset it. P.S I did discover that the 14-18 rams have a different location for there module
My ram is 2013 sport. I’ve adjusted tire pressure and disconnected the battery to see if it will reset, so far no luck. I will try your tip about disconnecting the module and reconnecting it. Thank you again for the tip and the reply, appreciate the assistance!
So I wonder if I unplug and plug back in, and still have the same issue, if I change the tire with another tire, and the system detects the swap, does that mean my sensor inside the tire is bad? Thanks for this info btw!
Really good video very intuitive listen other guys on here running the truck from dealer to dealer trying to get that little light to go off when in reality like you said either there’s mud on their modular or they let your tire get low and broke the sensor I had new tires put on and one valve stem was bad in less than an hour my tire was flat I drove it a little bit but broke the sensor the light would never go off until I put a new sensor on no you’re right I need to inform these other guys No you may be just the center they’re trying to reset reprogram and everything they can when they don’t think another sensor could be bad mostly if they let the tire and get Lil anyways thanks for the info to have a good one
My problem is that it is working properly, but I do not want to fill tires to 39 in winter, because on warmer days it will be way over, pressure starts at 34 goes to about 37 which is what I want but light stays on?
Bull is it the 2019 classic or the new design? On the 2019 classic they moved it somewhere else but I never knew where they moved it and in the 2019 new design they inter grated into the computer ecu which is better because it can be reset with a common scan tool
Scott Urich new body style I think your correct. Just found out but not for sure that it’s behind the rear seat call rf module or wireless control module it also handles the key fob as well
Thanks for the info. I have a 2013 Ram 1500 Express and this morning, my tire pressure light came on showing no psi for my left rear tire on the TPMS display. All other tires look good. Could this be the same problem or does it sound like a wheel sensor went bad.
John Dery if it’s not showing a wheel at all it could be either, the best suggestion is to unplug the module, start the truck, then shut the truck off and plug it back in...if your still getting the same thing then it’s a bad wheel sensor, the batteries eventually die so going to a place like Discount Tire cost about $60 with a new sensor
thanks for your reply. dealer said 1hr labor at $140.00.......... now i know why they made tpms sensors, so they could charge you lots of money to keep them working.
Does that one sensor cover all 4 rims? Or does it just do the front? And the dealership told me $1,300 to do a tune-up on my 2011 ram Yea no I did it myself.
@@scotturich thank you for the reply. A lot of times I get no signal from the right rear tire and once in a while both rear tires. I wonder if I can buy a new one and not have to flash it. Thank you again for the fast response
Thanks for the video quick question my tire pressure dropped to 29 psi n then i slowed down n it went back up to 40 would this be related to what u where talking about
Yes and no....If it’s happening regularly then yes those connectors could be dirty and losing connection, if it’s just a one off then it could just be the cold right now, the system will jump sometimes when it gets confused.
So glad I just found this I thought my last set of rims and tires didn't have them cause I bought them used but this set has them so thanks so much great videp
Great video you info helped me greatly I did what you said and worked great thanks a bunch saved me some money. As I thought it was tpms sensors and had all 4 replaced and all I needed to do was a bit of cleaning..
ERIC GAMMETER unfortunately I haven’t gotten anything concrete the techs but from what I found out they built the 2014+ models into the body control module under the dash but I’ve heard some people say that it’s behind the rear seat...when I take my 2019 in for service I’m going to have show me the location...I’m hoping that it will similar location on 2014+ but I’ll keep you up to date if I find more information
I have a 2018 ram 2500. Looking for info,, on my dashboard readout display where it shows tune tire pressure in each tire,, the light keeps blinking on my left rear tire ,, it has plenty of air in it,, but the light just keeps blinking,, how would i find where my module might be located,, or thoughts on what i might try,, just thinking that since mine is a 2018 year that the tpms sensor would not be bad, any thought would be appreciated
G vining Vining still don’t know where they moved the module but even if it’s only a year old could possibly be a bad sensor, best solution is go to your local tire place and have them scan the tire sensor and at least eliminate the bad sensor plus most tire shops won’t charge anything to take a look at the tire sensor. I don’t know what local tire shops that you have but I took mine to Discount tire and they discovered I did have a bad sensor and with mount and unmount and adding a new sensor was only about $60. Try starting there and then if it’s not a bad sensor try taking the battery terminals off for about 30min to hour and that will allow the system to completely reset. Good luck!!
I have a 2009 sxt 2500. The tpms module is called a wcm(wireless control module) or is integrated into the skreem. If you have a standard key then it is part of the skreem. The TRANSPONDERS are located behind both front fenderwells. I battled with my tpms for years and found my skreem module was sending 10v on the can, data line from the transponders resulting in c151d code( unable to locate tire position)
