I update y'all on my RAM 5500 truck build. I have some new Buyers truck boxes and Custom made transfer fuel tank coming onboard. Plus wait till the end for a BIG Update regarding the Host Mammoth Camper!
I have a 2018 5500 built out , I think i'm gonna do a OEM aux fuel tank underneath , there is a specific spot for this on these trucks , however the tank is much smaller , it should provide a 700 mile overall drive range when partnered with the stock 52/g tank. ~peace~
Heck yeah! That 22 gallon aux tank from the factory is great but I wanted more capacity so that's why I went with this custom 85 gallon tank. Thank you so much for watching!
I find the latches on the boxes over time become loose and eventually need to be replaced. Keep in mind that's on a daily usage setup, in and out of the boxes all day. Might be ok for me ghter usage applications. Aside from that the next part that fails is the cables that support the doors that open downwards / flat.
I appreciate you sharing your experience. I hope they last awhile and I don't use them really at all when we are not on the road. Thank you so much for watching!
1001 pounds of fuel you can carry before you need an endorsement. So gasoline weighs 6 pounds per gallon times that by 137 gallons and I sit at 822 pounds of fuel. I will be under that threshold.
