Thx for sharing. I am in research stage for super single expedition vehicle. @irnieracing RV Global Expedition: ru-vid.com/group/PL9EdHN9SPeEgME_HQYEsupd_RubOvguJu
Not a very practical camper first you need a 5500 Ram or 550 Ford to haul it then you have a gas guzzling huge truck to deal with as your vehicle on a daily basis unless your rich which you must be to own a truck of this size with this truck camper then you need another vehicle. Best advice buy a 1500 get a smooth ride and tow a airstream even nicer and more room and is probably cheaper lol. To me this is a useless cumbersome package and would be a bear to take off truck and put back on. This is just pure excess and is very American show off type camper.
May want to add a fuel filter/water catch going back to the main tank. Gravity feed, simple flow thru. No matter what water condensation will get in tank.
Great video with lots of good information. With the air suspension you installed, how does the truck ride when unloaded. Does it feel like you’re going to loose your teeth? Thx.
Not sure if you know it or not But you have a company called The Bumper superstore is using your bumpers to scam people out of there money and time I paid 3000 for a bumper and got scammed buy them
Super helpful. We have a 2020 3500 Cummins Turbo Diesel DRW, its a dream but i want more payload for all the same reasons. Considering a 5500 HEMI because everything you just said. Spending a lot on DEF and diesel availability has been an issue at times. Thanks for the video.
I am surprised there is not a market for such a truck. I know you can find ex-military type stuff, or surplus intended for the military, but some of that is cab over wheels, and parts are impossible to find and mechanics for those are impossible to find.
I write faster than my brain does the door sticker says 65 lbs in tires but when you are not hauling heavy Dodge says 40 in all four in rear of dullay and it does ride better and tire wear is not affected .
My 05 Dodge 3500 4x4 5.9 diesel and it had a 8’ bed on it when hauling the door sticker says 40 lbs all rear dullay tires and normal for all 4 tires is 65 lbs but I run 70 lbs and tha truck handles like a sports car and I love it when people tailgate me I love it on a 40 miles per hour and I can take it 70 no problem and tail hater is all over the rod !!!!!!
Do your air bags have bump stops inside the bags. I hauled cars for GM since I was 23 yrs old and we got a bunch of new trucks with air ride everything and the auto leveling system and then we had a lot of problems with 2 air valves on each axel so they changed to one in the center and the we had a problem with a tire going down and would set on frame so they put bump stops inside of bags and that solved all of our problems. But at the same drivers were loading cars off the back of trailer on top rear. The problem was that when you chain them down the air compressor would keep running to level the and after a bout a air of running nonstop the fuse would blow a the car would dump it’s air which I turn made the chains come lose and the car would fall off to cure that GMwould pull the fuses before releasing them to us
How high off the ground does that bed sit. I’m thinking of this setup, but this looks really high. What is the height of the truck camper when it’s on there?
?When you lower the kelderman air ride to get to the 13.6' for the east coast, what are some of the effects or disadvantages of driving on the road? Thank you
I’ve been seeing so many videos lately of lifted trucks just like yours tipping over with truck campers. Might want to consider bringing her back down to earth.
So that auto leveling valve doesnt take into account leaf spring flex? It just keeps the rear leaf spring mount in the same general location but the leaf spring will still flex under load and squat just as much as it did from factory?
Hey Great Video 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Finally I Get to 👀 the Entrance with the Rear Slide In.... I Want 1 of These, however, for the Rear Slide, I'd want the Seat to Fold Up, so that I can Still get in, with the Slide in. Or probably as you suggested in another video, put a Washer/Dryer there instead. Thanks much 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Why wouldn't you unload the box and spare and load the camper full forward? I get it that you want a spare and a box; be it a spare tank or extra truck/camper stuff, it seems like the camper would ride better loaded fully forward. Just my thoughts. I'd get a front bumper spare mount and put the spare out there old school style. Thanks for sharing.
