Rammstein - Sonne -Official Video (REACTION) W/ The Boyz! Snow White is LITTY! 

The song was originally written as a ring music for boxer Vitali Klitschko, the lyrics paraphrase the beating of the fists and the count of the referee. But Klitschko declined the song, he found it too hard. The music video was made after that had happened so they had to come up with something else instead which is why you can see another possible interpretation of the lyrics here even though it was not the intended one. So basically you got it right: Snow White is the sun (you can also see that the mine and the workers are all black and white and when she comes in she brings the colors with her yellow dress and red lips) and the dwarves work for her.

Yes Snow White is German and was part of the stories the Grimm brothers collected and published the Brother Grimm were also German. I actually live at the place where the story of Snow White is set. In german the story goes „hinter den sieben Bergen, bei den sieben Zwergen“ - „past the seven mountains, by the seven dwarves.“ and the „Siebengebirge“ - „Seven Mountains“ is an actual mountain range here in Germany.

Don's actually right for once. Brother's Grimm are German (lived in the 1780s - 1860s) and collected folk stories from all over Germany which would later become fairy tales. Snowwhite is one of them and most of their fairy tales were violent horror stories with a lesson to learn for kids. Red Riding Hood got eaten by a wolf, Sleeping Beauty was burned alive and Snow White's prince never kissed her to wake up, instead the footmen dropped the coffin which made her spit out the apple. Until Disney showed up and added music and birds and that stuff. Except for Cinderella, that's actually quite close to the original bar the fairy godmother.

Fun fact: the scenes with Snow White were shot separately from the shots with Rammstein and then put together afterwards. The song is about abuse of power and blind obedience.

This song was originally supposed to be used for a boxers intro song but the boxer never used it. Meanwhile the bass player Oliver showed them a video of snow white and suggested that and they went with it for the video.

Indeed "Schneewittchen" (Snowwhite) is part of the big collection of "Grimms Märchen" (Grimms fairytails). The brothers Grimm collected dozends if not hunderts of german / middle european fairytales and published their Book "Grimms Märchen".

The brothers Grimm put snowwhite in writing as the fairytail we now. The were 2 German brothers. They write a lot of fairytails from very old folklore stories and the make it in a fairytail. Red hiding hood is also from Grimm. The make "Du riechst so gut" also a fairytail cool video from redriding hood.

I don't know if it is true but i read somewhere that original the lyrics was about the atomic bombs that hit Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and in the video they are mining for Uranium. I don't know what the reason was that they didn't film the clip, but if i remember correctly snow white was playing in the background while they were discussing it, and thats why they chose to use it for their videoclip. correct me if i'm wrong.

Brothers Grimm are from Hanau/Germany. Probably half of your childhood fairy tales are written by them. But they just went around Germany and collected them.

Oh boy. You guys should see Till new single. Zunge. A very poetic song. And if you’re still new to Rammstein.. Zunge’s music video will absolutely blow your mind. Especially becuase no special effects were used.

Also, as others have said, some great videos from them would be Adieu, Keine Lust, Mein Herz Brent the piano version is amazingly done. Till also did a duet song with Zaz called Le jardin des larmes and it's a great softer song with a great video. And finally, if you want some real shock factor, you should do a song from Tills solo work called Lindemann Knebel (but you have to do the uncensored version if you can find it). It will definitely have your jaw dropping at times saying, "What the hell?!?"

The original intention of the song (entrance song for the boxer Vitali Klitschko) is already explained by someone else. Yes, Snowwhite (Schneewittchen) was one of the 210 German fairy tales that were collected, edited, and written down by the brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm in 1812-1858. As these fairy tales circulated for decades or centuries and were (slightly) modified by every story teller, it is not possible to decide where, when, and by whom they were created. Anyhow their purpose was (and maybe still is) to give children (moral) guidelines and advice (with respect to the social environment in which the tales were created or modified), just like the parables in the bible.

Snow White has a real background: it was a princess living arround Kassel if remember right. The dwarfs real background are mine working children. Which was normaly at that time. But in a fairy tail you can't say "mine working children" so it was transformed into "dwarfs". :)

Disney watered down European fairy tales. If you read the originals, you'll see how bloody and downright morbid they can get. They were not happy stories, but medieval cautionary tales. Most of them come from various Euro folklore, Grimm Brothers just collected and published them.

Disney took the the stories by the brothers Grimm and did alot of changes to them the originals are very dark and scary and Arial is Triton and Athena daughter they had 7 daughters who were the protectors of the seven seas Poseidon was the father of Triton so Arials grandfather . Many people around the world know the german fairytale about Snowwhite and the seven dwarfs by the Grimm brothers. But the real story behind the dwarfs, were children in older times , who had to work in mines and never saw the sun. Many children died and were handycapped outside the mines. People believed, that those children were dwarfs. It's ironinical, that Disney try to transmiss the dwarfs to LGBTQ-people, instead to see how children are also can be victims. The story of Snowwhite is a story about violated children in reality, that the Grimm brothers switched into a fairytale.

To be fair, this video doesn't have as strong of a connection to its song than most of the other Rammstein videos. Reason being, that the song was written as a walk-in song for the then boxing champ Wladimir Klitschko (hence the counting), but he and/or his management didn't like it. So the video is bit of an afterthought, a good one still. You can still interpret Snow White as being their sun, them being blinded by her, her hands burning them...

The original Sonne clip was about nuclear war. The band members are sitting in the cockpit of the Enola Gay, on their way to Hiroshima. Here comes the sun: we are bringing nuclear fire to your city. They count 1 to 10, from the moment the nuke is released to the moment it explodes (in real life it took 43 seconds). The project was abandoned, Rammstein thought it might be misinterpreted and hurtful for japanese survivors. When they perform this song live and you hear heavenly voices, the band kneels: they pray for the victims of the bomb. Since they abandoned the project out of respect for Japan, they turned the video clip into a twisted version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, but didn't change the lyrics, that are still in the context of a nuclear bombing.
