And it was split into a bunch of novels. Time Streams is one of the novels of all time. CROAG: So the androgynous freaky Sleepers didn't work so well, Oh Ineffable. I have a proposal. YAWGMOTH: Speak, Oh Cardless One. CROAG: What if...we made them hot? I've got the Kerrick line all prepped. Hunky, muscled young men with wavy blond hair and tan skin. YAWGMOTH: And you're telling me we will destroy Urza Planeswalker's academy...with sex appeal. CROAG: Yes. YAWGMOTH: PROMOTE THIS HORROR!!

yeah they definitely don't use basic lands on multi-planar sets to showcase different planes on the basics. That's definitely not a thing that happens every single time!

Urza's Saga lands are about a buck and a half. The white bordered ones from the box sets seem to be in that same neighborhood.

What has he done mutiple baisc swamps and like no other basics? I guess there was snow covered island...

You got me curious, so I checked the playlist. Of Basics, he's covered one plains (shards of alara), one island (streets of new capenna) (plus the snow-covered island you mentioned), seven swamps (mirage, invasion, new phyrexia, time spiral, seventh edition, commander 2016, and today urza's saga), two mountains (ixalan and kaldheim), and one forest (shadowmoor). That is a disproportionate level of swamps, indeed.

The answer if you're curious is because there was one that one set that decided to print twice as many black cards as any other, which meant more swamps, which meant that for eternity there will simply just be more swamps than there are other basic lands, and in a purely random system that means more will just pop up as time goes, naturally.

Why didn't you mention that when you line up all 5 of the printed swamp (all the forests, mountains, Islands and planes) the make a 5 card mosaic. The artist made one big picture of the swamp and cut it into 5 pieces. The Saga lands are some of the best basic lands because of this!!!

Because they don't. There are only four of each basic land of a type and only the Plains come from the same larger piece..
