Repairs views suggested I did to the snowmobile, Ford 8N update, new trailer, and some Lena-cam for your daily dose of floppy dog ears. I left a lot of this video as raw footage or lightly edited to show real time repairs and what it's like to have a doggie helper. Let me know what you think, enjoy!

I really enjoyed the view point from the LenaCam ™! I think she views that snowmobile as a nuisance, and a distraction from the most important thing, which is of course, Lena.

Sam, just a small tip when bleeding brakes. Get a small (or 2 in this case) piece of hose that fits the bleeder screw and an old water bottle. Put the hose on the bleeder and the other end in the bottle. It cuts down on the mess. Keep up the great work. Love your videos. We all make mistakes, but it's what you learn from them that makes the difference!!! PS, your spark plugs are loose...

Coolant air bubbles is a universal problem when replacing coolant. On my Corolla ( and other GM cars I owned before) there is a bleeder in the line but engine needs to be running to circulate the coolant before it is effective. Having to lift your machine to get air out is a bummer. Your tenacity is awesome Sam. Your video skills are top notch too! Great footage with Lena. Keep up the great videos .👍👍👍🐕🐕🐕

Hello Samantha. Next time you bleed some brakes, I recommend you get yourself a 1' long, transparent and small plastic hose that you pull over the top of the bleeding screw, where the rubber cap was. You don't need rags or spill it over the brakes and you can see, if there are still bubbles coming out of the brake line and if the color of the fluid looks new. Put the other end of the hose in a small glass or bottle to save it. And always start with the most distant bleeding screw, one at a time. I bet that makes it easier to do the job. Nice video, thank you for it. Sincerely Tom 😎

Hello Sam. I'll have a go at explaining how the air bleeder on the coolant system works. It appears your snowmobile has a common pressurized coolant system. The air bleeder screw is there to provide a safe way to release pressurized contents from the highest point in the cooling system, where air pockets are most likely to congregate. Before checking for air bubbles you should make sure your coolant system has no leaks (think pressure test), and make sure you have proper levels of coolant in both the overflow bottle and the rest of the cooling system. If coolant can escape the system or if air can be pulled in through an empty overflow, you will always have an air bubble problem. To purge air bubbles: have the coolant fill cap on and the bleeder screw closed, turn on your engine and let it build up some heat so that the cooling system can get pressurized. Squeezing the coolant hose should indicate if there is pressure inside (have a squeeze before you start so you will know what pressurized feels like). IMPORTANT: DO NOT OPEN THE FILL CAP WHEN THE SYSTEM IS PRESSURIZED AS BOILING HOT COOLANT COULD SHOOT OUT UNCONTROLLABLY. When the system is pressurized, slowly open the bleeder screw. You should get either air or coolant coming out. Allow the air to escape and close the screw when you see coolant coming out. That's basically all there is to it. some background information: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radiator_(engine_cooling)#Coolant_pressure ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-J6cXlPOe9S4.html Regards.

i've been wrenching on things for 45 years and just this year discovered speed bleeders. they are bleed fittings with check valves in them, so you just crack them like a regular bleed fitting and pump the brakes until the air is gone ,they are so great when you're working by yourself and don't have a vacuum pump. they are made by russell engineering and come in all sizes. simple genius for only 12 bucks a pair, i will never look back. i love your videos, it's so cool to see you learning, i try to yell tips into the screen but i guess you can't hear me over here in vermont.😀😀😀 p.s. we just got 14 inches on saturday but it's been pretty poor sledding this season.

Hi Sam, You may already know this, but your sled has three positions for the choke. I could tell that you know about "off" and "half choke" but I couldn't tell if you were using "full choke." To get to "full choke" just continue pushing the lever in the same direction another 90°( or 180° from "off"). I have owned 4 Yamaha sleds, 2 from the same era as yours. They always liked "full choke" if they were cold and especially if they were outside and not in the garage. I would start with full then switch to half fairly quickly and then let it run on half choke for a bit and finally no choke once it could maintain an idle without any choke. I don't remember ever flooding a sled. I learned that when in doubt, it usually needed more choke to get it to fire when cold. Have fun and I think you have found the next RU-vid star in Lena! That POV made it seem like we could read her thoughts 🤔

Bolt plastic fenders on the removable sides ,so you can keep to tilt them, even with fenders still on. To avoid rattle, use a ratcheting strap on the front side of the trailer to keep some tension on both remùobale sides ,it will eliminate rattle. So you can keep removable sides, wich are useful and eliminate your issues.

Looking forward to a video on you sprucing up the trailer. There you go, thinking what I'm thinking: take the snowmo somewhere where there's snow 😂 Like some of these channels who lament over not being able to try out a new snowblower because they don't have deep enough snow....well, drive a few hours north where they do have more snow, and find a park or parking lot and have at it.

When your Dad asked "What are you doing?" I kind of felt for you Sam. I had someone in my life (who died recently) who used to do the same thing. I'd be working on my car or a project out in the street & he'd come out & ask "What the hell are you doing now!?" It may have been well intentioned & Londoners can be very blunt but it made me feel like I couldn't or shouldn't be doing stuff. Maybe your Dad isn't like that but it reminded me of it.

If the skidoo don't have reverse, just back up to a tree or something. Tie rear bumper to tree and drive the trailer away, making sure the skies don't get caught on the trailer. No need to struggle pulling the machine off by hand. Last year I got my daughter a 1998 Skidoo Touring E 380 with electric start and reverse. She loves it and it'll go over 60mph, but she never drives it that fast. A very simple air cooled machine and very easy to work on, no coolant, no oil injection (I removed it).

Hello Samantha, not trying to be too picky, but while watching your repair video on the oil pump o ring it appeared that you didn't get the cable attached properly. The round piece on the end is supposed to be seated in both sides of the lever and the cable in the middle. For reference you had a good pic of it while you were disassembling it. Great job learning how to repair your sled.

If you're towing it only behind the Subaru, you can get it inspected and shouldn't have any problems without fenders. NY only requires them on trailers if towed behind a commercial vehicle. If you hook it up to that F-150, then you'll need fenders.
