Here is the third video from my July 2014 Sydney trip, got one more video to go. Once again it features SL044, one of Suez's MacDonald Johnston 25m GenV Reycler bodies with Mitch at the wheel. As you can see we get some nice views looking out towards the ocean in one of Randwick's coastal suburbs, quite nice views and something a little different. The houses round here were alright too, plenty of recycling as usual. The truck packed out its first load at the end of the video so after that it was off to the recycling transfer station to unload the first load for the day. It was a little cool filming out near the water during winter time, but the nice morning sun kept things warm enough. As you can see this is a totally different area to the first two video's, which involves SL044 starting its run in another part of the council and then driving over to this part to complete the days work. To be honest I have absolutely no idea why it is done this way, I reckon it would make a bit more sense to start collections at one end of the council on Monday and each week day you move to the next area which boarders the previous days work and therefore finishing the collections on a Friday at the other end of the council boarders. That would be the logical way to do the council collections, but hey this is a council after all and that would be too logical, haha!

Nice vid mate and that is the same truck SLO44 from the part 2 yesterday such as part 3 the thing is recycling goes to materials recovery facility to dump some recyclables on the conveyor and it sorts out the incorrect stuff from the recycling bins like plastic bags,hazardous Chemicals,car batteries,food scraps,garbage and other contaminated stuff. Mitch is the best I ever seen in my life and he was fast and skilled driver. And love to hear glass bottles smashing through the hopper and it has a good sound. That is 10/10 mate :)

Yeah mate, same day and same truck. All recycling goes to the MRF, the trucks empty onto the tipping floor then loaders load it onto the conveyers and it then goes into the system, first station is generally removal of non recyclable items by workers and after that its mostly automated. Different screens, magnets and optical eyes with air jets are used to separate all the material.

Yep that’s a big idea what they are doing I hate contamination stuff on the recycling bins such as green waste bins. And also this tailgate looks damaged on the left side of the truck that’s still needs to be fixed Mitch’s recycling truck. The hopper is so much rusty

I go and leave the bin sticking right out at 0:38, I leave that stuff spilt at 2:52..... was I on drugs or something?! Who the bloody hell is this bloke driving, must be an imposter, not the Mitch I know today =] Interesting looking back at these videos to see what I was like at one point... do remember at Auburn I was a bit more particular and got kind of OCD at St George, then pulled back on a few things when I started at Randwick, then got 31 and picked up the quality a bit more. Even 5:58, was I trying to be some kind of legend, racing the council ute hahaha :P Bloody damn GenVs at 5:24, got me again the bastard. Sweet punch of the exhaust right at the end after turning the roundabout, made for a good exit! Cheers for a couple of surprisingly quick extra uploads :O

Haha, I noticed the bin at 2:52 too when I was putting the footage together and had a laugh, thought it was unlike you so it must have been an imposter! 5:58 was super funny, I almost laughed while filming, but not sure you would have even seen the ute, he should have waited to be honest. That incident at 5:24 only happened a handful of times that day, but just enough to be a downright pain. You seemed to be in a bit more of a rhythm in SL031, probably because it was your truck a run. As usual was a good day getting this truck in action, had a good bite of lunch too just up the hill too from here after the second run and then you had to swap this truck over for the little organics RL at Lucas Heights after dumping at Rydalmere, it was a huge day. Thought you'd been waiting long enough for some footage and I have some Brisbane guys wanting me to upload some stuff so wanted to get yours up first.
