You forgot one of the best parts about this gun. The optics ready slide fits over 30 red dots without any mounting plates. So it sits lower and co-witnesses with the iron sites!
Bought this pistol about 3 months ago. Have only shot about 250 rounds thru it but LOVE the heck out of it!! It fits my hand just perfectly, points awesome!! Is an extension of my hand for sure. Looks great and has great balance. Great review !
Just picked up mine on Saturday. Putting it through its paces tomorrow. I did rent one at a range about a month ago and was very pleased. So, here we are. Good review, thanks.
Couldn't agree more about springfield and their marketing. Rubs be wrong. I had a first gen XD as my first pistol, nothing special but perfectly reliability. When I decided to upgrade this year, I had zero interest in getting another Springfield, fully intended to get a Sig or a Glock. Then the Echelon came out and i was sold. Picked it up, fantastic firearm. HSProdukt knows what they are doing.
Facts I always say when a person being political they should be fully don’t pick n choose if they feel like that about Springfield they need to stop shopping at certain places and also cut they homes…anyway they make good guns all my glocks went out the door for a prodigy hellcat pro and echelon 🤷🏾♂️ idc care about the extras I jus want a reliable good gun for the money
@@watchyoutube9553 I got a Hellcat Pro also, did a little work to lighten the trigger pull and got the threaded barrel. It's my favorite EDC currently. I about to pick up the Echelon in a few days.
Wow 5 out of 5 stars! Somebody is impressed with it! Hahaha! Funny thing I got it and I took my out to the range yesterday right after work, then later I seen your video come out. It was 22deg F outside. Had to see how this Croation beauty works in the cold. It ran flawlessly. As to accuracy it was all me, shot like kaka because of wearing heavy gloves and rushing to get home out if the cold I know, no excuse... Being a member of the Croation brotherhood of the XD I wish they would make it in compact and sub compact size. Stay safe Big Jay. Looking forward to see what next you'll show us.
I picked up this pistol with the 3 dot sights. As you noted in the video, makes for better precision shooting. Mine also came with the threaded barrel. Loving it! Great review, Jason.
I must admit that I’m surprised about the 5 Star rating. Not because I don’t believe it deserves it. I just haven’t spent that much time with it. But perhaps it’s worth a second look. Thank you very much for the video.
My reaction to this gun was identical to yours. I was pleasantly surprised by how well I shot with it. I mean just like you said, it really feels like an extention of your hand when shooting and the trigger isn't great but it's decent enough to shoot that well with. Well said sir.......
Nice review as always! I too waited to pick one up and haven’t received it yet so here I am enjoying your review. I got mine for $407 plus tax so it’s not a bad deal for what you get.
Another thing about Springfield is sometimes they'll offer a rebate on the hellcat or hellcat pro that includes a little range bag and 5 extra mags and the pistol already comes with 2 mags.
I am glad they used the black coated magazines instead of the Bumper Chrome BS mags like the Xd’s…. I wish they did a manual safety… But I’m going to try one… Especially with the multi-optic no plate mount…❤
I'm searching for my first handgun. First I want to go with a canik Mete sft pro. Then I decided to go Walther PDP SD, but I was on the enforce tac in Germany and I felt in love with the Echelon. Great feeling... canik is out... PDP or Echelon that is the question.
@thetexasgunvault absolutely! It was mainly due to the fact that I knew you'd be against the pistol if you had a reason. Like you mentioned it's hard to trust reviews when they first come out. I don't have the luxury of having dozens of firearms so when I get one I need to know it'll last me haha. Thanks again, subbed already of course 😊
This is the 3rd most accurate, for me, 9 mm pistol I currently own. My only more accurate 9 mm are my Smith and Wesson Competitor and my Smith and Wesson Pro Series... Prior to last year, I would not have owned it Springfield, due to their politics... However, I discovered Rob Leatham and gave their 1911's a chance... I now find they have very good products, even if their politics kind of don't make sense.
I like the offering. For me I would really like a manual safety option, or the old grip safety that was on the XDM OSP Elites. Those are amazing imo and I expect nothing different from SA. With those and the Hellcat offerings they are offering, there are surely solid options.
I know that 5 ⭐️ killed you lol. Thanks for your honesty! I was contemplating with Springfield after the xd series. The prodigy is nice as well, after some tuning and interior finishing work
Jason I totally agree about Springfield armory’s marketing as incredibly annoying. My experience w the HS Produkt pistols has overall been positive over the years from the XDS 9, XDE 9 and full size XD models. None of them are my cup of tea but all have been reliable and well built. If this Echelon had a single sided mag, release I’d be interested, but Ambi mag releases are no go for me as it’s an easy way to accidentally drop the mag while holstered.
@@thetexasgunvault I don't agree. If your finger is up on the slide instead of outside the trigger guard you can't hit the ambi release or the trigger. Safety first!
Seems to have a lot of quality of life decisions in it's design. Plenty of things on that gun should just be common sense standard for future firearms.
Well I think your process of review could be improved on covering the operator manual type of stuff, shorten up wording possibly. Maybe do shooting drills as well. However you're the first Ive seen bench shoot in testing. Although the grouping seems worse than it should be. That said you seem to be more real in the review of things. Such as not comparing it to custom gucci products, refreshing. Your fire speed certainly surprised me, nice. Thumbs up on the review overall.
Thank you and I appreciate your input. I am just an average gun guy and do think as a one man show. I am not looking to be anything more than I am. This is just a passion project.
Good morning, Jason, interesting pistol, I checked a few of our larger gun shops web sites looking to see if it was stocked. But no one has it on their sites. With our gun laws barrel lengths having to be 120mm, so it would mean Springfield having to produce a gun for our small market. It looks like a brilliant shooter as well. Cheers
I love mine. The only thing I didn't like is the polymer guide rod. I put a steel one in mine. That's just me being nit picky though. I do that with all of mine that has that kind of guide rod.
You are not kidding about many of the 'mainstream' gun youtuber's simply being marketing promotions. When the new Trijicon RMR & RSR came out, every one of those channels I follow showed people dropping them, kicking them, dragging them, cussing at them, going on and on about their ruggedness... everywhere I looked - my RU-vid feed was like a clown show. Trijicon's marketing was touting the same message. Seemed to me that all those promoters were directed by Trijicon, and my guess is that it was in exchange for something of value.
Hate these uscca ads they keep dropping thire customers when it comes time to defend them screw that ill save my money. Id rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6 any day
I really like mine, I think it’s the best polymer pistol design to come out in quit a few years, with its fits all optics’s and it’s modular design, i no sig done the modular thing before them but the optics options with this is next level
