The fifth generation Range Rover (L460) was presented by the company in London on October 26, 2021.[9][10][11] The car is available in two different wheelbases, as a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and a seven-seater variant.
The fifth-generation Range Rover was unveiled by Jaguar Land Rover chief creative officer and car designer Gerry McGovern at the Royal Opera House in London. It is built on JLR's new MLA-Flex platform and will be available in both PHEV and seven-seat variants. In addition to two PHEVs, three diesel and two JLR 3.0L Ingenium I6 petrol engines, the car will be the first vehicle from JLR to use an engine developed as part of the internal combustion engine and electrified powertrain partnership agreed between JLR and BMW in 2019, as The BMW 4.4 L V8 engine is also an option[clarify][source not specified 638 days]. It was launched with a range of mild hybrid (MHEV) diesel and petrol engines, with a PHEV due to arrive in early 2022 and an all-electric model due in 2024. Buyers can also specify a four-seat layout that includes a center console separating the two rear seats, as well as a power tray and mini-fridge.
The car is available with either a standard wheelbase of 2997 mm with a length of 5052 mm, or with a long wheelbase of 3197 mm with a length of 5252 mm. Both options have a height of 1870 mm and a width of 2047 mm.
