First thanks for all the get well wishes. I have the best subscribers here so thanks for supporting my channel !
I'm still working on the green P38 and fixing the injection pump on it. Since I have everything out with easy access to do some more preventive maintenance.
The glow plugs should measure about 1Ω when good (±20%). That makes them draw about 12A each for a total of 72A when the glow system is active.
Remove the 8mm nut holding the cable onto each glow plug. Then use a 12mm socket to remove the glow plugs. Torque the glow plugs to 20 Nm (14 ft lbf) and the cables to 4 Nm (3 ft lbf). My new plugs came with new cable nuts.
STC3103 Glow plugs
Retiming the green P38 pump didn't solve the hesitation and "stalls", so I'm going to try the old black P38 pump since that pump never had those issues. It's also rebuilt and I think I can make it work. But that'll be another video.
I've been having some AC squeal issues on both P38s. Now I finally figured out the issue. The pulleys were worn, but not broken. The belt kept slipping and it was because I hadn't adjusted the belt correctly. Now both ACs work fine.

Thanks Ron! We're enjoying the last remains of summer. In a month we'll be tipping over into the blue degrees so trying to get a few things sorted in time.

Good videos. Thanks for uploading them. The vibration could be rotors (bend brake disc). Take care and thank you

Thanks for the tip. Brakes are brand new. It was the steering damper. Thanks for watching!

In my car, the FIP was the problem for the most issues I faced, I changed the FIP to the used one and was ok, only I noticed that the car is vibrating some times even when it's stopped, I didn't use the injectors witch they came with it, only I used the no.4 injector which comes with the sensor. Any advice for the vibrating issue? have you found the vibration issue?
@WorkOnP38
@WorkOnP38 5 лет назад
Hi. If the engine runs uneven it might be due to uneven distribution of fuel. Maybe one injector is weaker then the rest, or not working. Maybe the injector isn't getting enough fuel pressure to reelase fuel into a cylinder. It can also be out of adjustment injection pump timing. You can try and locate which cylinder it is by loosing the high pressure line on each injector one at a time. Once you find a pipe you can loosen with little or no change in vibration you've found which one it is. If you're wondering about the vibrations I have at speed, I've not had time yet to troubleshoot where it is. Thanks for watching!

Your vibration maybe the viscous coupling in the transfer case. Cheers

A good tip. Though I hope it's not. We'll see what it turns out to be. Thanks for watching!

Another great video. Guess you've checked the steering damper? Prop shaft all ok? No worn UJ's making it come out of balance when the revs get up? Glad to see ur better now.

All good tips Alan. Noted and will be checked (I've got a new steering damper to try out). I plan on taking the front prop off to see if anything changes. But need to get it running again first (no start after "fixing" the injection pump). Thanks for watching!

@@WorkOnP38 just been under my P38 replacing the UJ and rubber donut on the rear prop shaft and saw a thing attached to my rear diff. Looked in my service manual and it's the mass damper. Does your P38 with the vibes have one? All attached ok?

Vibration/wobble: check the 3 part series fromRimmer Bros ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wtr2aBu1reI.html , I'm doing this myself and done with part 2, a bit reluctant about changing the track rod and drag link to get the wheel alignment correct . Thanks Mario. I'll check those out. I'm planning to replace the damper to see if it changes anything. We'll see once I get it running again (non-working injection pump at the moment). Mine has new track and drag links. I did get an alignment done when those were done. Appreciate the tips! Thanks for watching.

I have problem in my RR. Two months ago i had install regeneration FIP and when engine its cold then start perfectly, when little bit warm then will cranking 10-15 second before start. Do You have any idea? Brgds
@alanjs1
@alanjs1 5 лет назад
Sounds like the hot start issue. Google "P38 hot start fix". Not had that issue with mine but it's a commonish thing. Fairly easy fix tho I think.
@WorkOnP38
@WorkOnP38 5 лет назад
Hi Seb. If it's a reconditioned FIP (and not just used) then I'd make sure the injection timing is set correctly. If it's just another used pump then the FIP might be worn and a hot start fix like Alan mentions would probably work. Thanks for watching!

May be a bad belt on the tire. They cause nasty vibrations.
@WorkOnP38

Thanks for the tip, but then the issue should have gone away when I tried the tires from the other Range Rover. The issue was still there with other tires. Thanks for watching and contributing!
