This has been THE BEST breakdown of SEO that I’ve seen! I knew to use words from a buyers perspective but your clear explanation of how to order words with examples just took things to the next level for me. Thank you!!!
Woah! I followed this method and I went from having zero views to 7 views overnight! The crazy thing is I only have 10 active listings and used your method for 2 of them! Thank you!
I made a few changes to my listings you suggested in this video. In just a week, I’ve nearly doubled my weekly average sales. Thank you so much for these helpful tips!
@@candidate17 Right now, I’m working my Etsy shop on a small, but intense scale and using her RU-vid advice and I’ve seen big changes. I can understand why the students in her program are so successful. 😊
Etsy and some of the Etsy guides warn against this kind of SEO. I constantly get warnings saying it looks like you are writing to a computer. Then it tells me to write simple easy to understand titles for customers. Does Etsy not know know how Etsy works? More importantly, why does the title have to be a keyword drag rather than a nice title. Are the keywords we create in the listing page not sufficient?
She made this so simple-stupid I could cry on how perfect this was for even users like me at this for years. Thank you so much for the valuable information!!
Decided to make my Etsy shop a priority this year and I couldn’t have found your channel at the right time. I listened to a lot of channels but yours are so full of light bulb moments for me. Truly appreciate your advice! ❤❤❤
I will advice you sought the help of a professional etsy consultant help since you said you want to make your shop a priority... I've been on etsy since 2018 and keep on applying all the tips I found helpful but I made no sales but I'm glad I found one freelancer that helps me with it.....find help!!!!!!
Quite honestly this has been the absolute BEST visual and narrated breakdown of SEO I’ve seen, and I’ve been on etsy since 2018! I have never seen Titles explained in such a profoundly different way, Your explanation of how to work a title to your benefit is simply BRILLIANT!!! I’m now going to go and change 400 listings. Thank you so much, I’m literally stunned watching this x
This advice is INCREDIBLE. How you came up with the titles to hit so many key words, honestly I would never have thought of that. I'm preparing to launch my digital coloring page store soon and this info will prove invaluable. Thank you
@@carlylim only launching next week. Have been preparing digital coloring pages from scratch so been preparing enough pages to have enough to launch as well as upload more each day for a few weeks. Tiring but want to provide top quality and unique products so the store can do well with good SEO and ads
The tips are so so awesome! I have never seen anyone going so deep into a topic, breaking everything down and so nicely piecing everything together. Love your videos!
This was very interesting. It goes against what many other people who make Etsy videos say to do. They make it seem as if people are tanking their listings if they use the same word multiple times in the product listing title.🤔
just watched around 5 Etsy SEO guides on RU-vid. this one is by far the best, in terms of breaking down common mistakes and how to use long tail keywords. Nobody else even says anything about removing all the commas and dashes to create more long tail keywords.
So glad that this was helpful for you! If you need any more help with Etsy, I am available through my Instagram @dylanjahraus or my email team@dylanjahraus.com :)
This is gold! I'm so tired of wasting my time watching SEO videos, only to be more confused. I'm so grateful to have something to implement. Thank you!
WOW I have a lot of changes to make! I've watched a lot of videos in the last few months of yours and other etsy coaches but this is one of the few that gave me a real "ah ha" moment regarding SEO. Everyone talks about it but this makes so much sense!! So much info in 12 minutes, pure gold right here..thank you!
This is definitely the most concise, specific information I've ever received on SEO. It always seemed like a big mystery. LOVED the visuals of actual listings that you "improved". As a visual learner, I can't thank you enough!
To us that have applied it and still not get the possible results, seo still remain a mystery that only few consultants really know about.... I've did it myself after watching several lecture videos on it and yet it's a NO.... Find a trustworthy freelancer and consultant that will help you with it... I'm glad I found one tho....find a professional and trustworthy one and you will definitely see the difference too😊
@@olarewajuchristianah7380yes,but you never actually learn,,the freelancer is doing it for you. I was this close to outsource this on fiverrr as well, but I really want to understand it myself. I've been recently modifying my listings with her method. If I do end up getting help on fiverr will be under the condition that they teach me how to do it.
Wow. I can't tell you how many Etsy SEO videos I have been watching over the past few weeks since I opened my shop. This is BY FAR the most helpful of them all. Thank you!
@@carlylim considering I'm having orders almost everyday and I'm growing in views, I'd say yes. Of course it's not enough having a well structured title, so don't expect to see miracles. I had sales before too, but as soon as I implement this strategy in titles my shop has been improving in sales and views. If I didn't do this, I think I would have been growing anyway, but slower (at the end of the day it's Etsy's algorithm that decides for you to grow or not). So make sure you've got a good product and great photos as well, because just the title wouldn't save your shop 😊 I wish you the best with your business!
I'm sure I've watched (and learned from) at least a million ETSY SEO videos but this has to be the most powerful and compelling one I've seen yet. Thanks for these tips - can't wait to implement them!
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I was making this exact mistake and now I’m going through all of my listings and changing the titles into longer keywords. This made SEO way more understandable.
OMG, I just joined your program and am just to the beginning of this section, it seems. I am so happy to have found your course but lord it’s a lot to learn. I have however seen my numbers increase and I’m very excited to continue learning so that I can finally make a sale that’s not my wife of buddy. For me though that’s not that tech savvy it’ll be quite the journey.
Holy cheesecakes I need to clean this room because my mind blew up all over it 🤯 I had noooooo idea this was a good way to list. I read all the comments and there are a lot of questions like “do you recommend not using commas, won’t this sound like a computer wrote it, will Etsy be mad, etc” and I wondered all those things too, buuuuut Dylan is crazy successful so I totally trust what she’s saying, I’m absolutely going to change all my listings asap!! Another commenter said they don’t think a buyer will buy or not buy based on the title, but rather based on the pictures, videos, store reputation, etc. and that makes lots of sense to me! Sure the listing title won’t be as pretty but if it gets in front of more eyeballs….who cares! I’m super excited and so thankful to you Dylan! 🙏 ♥️-Rachael at Forest & Cove
All I can say is wow...just wow. I've watched so many videos on SEO and none of them explained it so clearly or as well reasoned as you did, nor did they show how it was done nearly as well. It makes so much sense and its like a 'duh' moment once you hear it. WOW!
I am a new Etsy seller and its been a month since I started. I have watched many videos on how to get better at choosing titles and this video is definitely the best and very informative! Now I exactly know how to have a proper title. Many thanks and keep educating :) cheers
So, what about for seasonal items when there is a plural for said holiday item such as Valentine's Day or St Patrick's Day? Would you leave the plural and cut out the apostrophe, or would you omit both? This video has been super helpful btw! I appreciate it so much!
thankyou. I always find that after watching your videos I have something to go back and fix instead of scratching my head on what to do next to improve my etsy store.
OMG😮 I was listening to this video on my to work just now. While I’m in the parking lot of my employment. I did exactly what you said to do and it worked. My item came up 3rd in the search on the first page that have over 185,000 listens when I searched for the product. Wow Thanks so much can’t wait to this with all of my products in my shop.
I’m so excited that I saw this before I had a ton of listings. This is so incredibly helpful but will take a lot of practice for me! I thought we had to use commas!

Wow, I had no idea that's how the Etsy SEO works😆 I was under the impression that I could just write a title using the search keywords that match my item in any order. You've made it simple understand, and thank you for giving me homework to go do on my few listings! 🤣
If you were my daughter, I'd be mad-proud at how smart/sharp you are and that you didn't waste money on a ridiculous major. Thank you! ~Juli B., old broad in FL with a great Etsy shop (since June 1) of digital print posters, mugs, tote bags. Gonna try to fix that after listening to you!
I love that you are showing us how to make sure that our titles include all the keywords in to capture many long tailed keyword combinations in word orders that are based on how customers search, along with ways to duplicate and re-order to see how each listing does better. However, I thought that the title was supposed to entice and make sense to the customer, rather than look like a keyword stuffed nonsensical phrase. Wouldn't it make more sense to make a good, readable title and then have the long tailed keywords in the tags in the best word order combinations? And since Etsy "mixes and matches" tags, it will also be shown for other combinations of the words. How does the doing the title one way or the other affect how likely you will be found in Google searches?
Wow! That’s so smart! I use the search results that my listings get found by, and put them in my titles, and some of them don’t fit as a tag. Never have I thought to over lap the words 🤯 Genius. Running to my laptop right now 🏃♀️ 🏃♀️ 🏃♀️ 🏃♀️ 😂❤
I’m a newbie to Etsy just getting started so I am so glad to have these tips as I start listing soon. Thank you! Would love to come back here and share my results.
Awesome job! This is info I've been trying to understand for 7 years now, and you have made it plain in 1 video! I am going to edit and re-list all of my Etsy listings with these seo tips in mind. Thank you!
Wow this couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. Not finished watching but already have a light bulb moment about the commas. Can’t wait to test this on my listings. Thank you so much 🤞🏾
Posting this comment as a timestamp that as of today I have sold ZERO shirts on my Etsy page --- Going to change all my keywords after watching this excellent video and then I am going to come back and update you all!! THANK YOU!!!
Hey Dylan! Just want to say thank you for this ! My gf and I have really been struggling on the seo! We're a new etsy store so we would of been completely lost. Keep making great content
Wow by far the best video I have seen on explanation on seo!!!! And visually helpful too!!! Thank you soo much! Can you make a video on how to do seo on tumblers/cups?
I’m just starting out with Etsy and have been watching numerous videos about how to succeed. I gotta say you are the one who have totally opened my eyes to a different perspective!! As someone just getting started on Etsy, I've done a lot of research, but your description of Etsy SEO was so easy to follow and just made so much sense. I must have had a dozen 'ah-ha' moments. Thank you for posting this.
Hi Dylan, this was a really interesting video which helped me to understand how the search engine is looking through description. If you can do a follow-up concerning tags it would be very helpful too
Glad you found this helpful! The titles are just a small part of SEO, but I do cover the rest in my program in depth. If you're interested feel free to reach out for more information at team@dylanjahraus.com or on IG @dylanjahraus
Just like all the other comments, this is SO good!! I have never seen an explanation on this specifically, but even more so.. a GREAT explanation! Thank you again!
Appreciate this video! Before doing Etsy, I had no idea what a cottagecore is, or botanical or comfort colors is ect.. so if I were to search something up like a t shirt I'd do something like cute summer shirt or or spring shirt shirt for mom ..something very general describing what it's for
Thank you SO MUCH for this amazing video! Best video I’ve found on Etsy seo so far. You explain everything simple but accurate and give great examples of what NOT to do and what to do instead! Subscribed to your channel right away ❤
I am strugling on etsy shop since 2021, I watch this video on Friday, December 15, 2023. And today December 20, 2023 i get my first sale from etsy after following this tips.. thankyou so much Dylan ❤

Launched my Etsy shop today and am so thankful I watched your video same day. Your tips and visual examples are so clear. After your other video mentioned about how new Etsy sellers get a boost I adjusted my product title right away and was able to see my product show in first 10 listings! Will absolutely keep your advice in mind as I launch and run my store. Thank youuu!!!
This is extremely helpful!! I am a virtual assistant who helps small businesses with their Etsy shops. I've always been told not to duplicate a word in a title. I really like your different thought process and perspective on this. With all of that said, do you think it hinders having the duplicate words in the listings?
This video post is golden. I've been aggregating as much as I can about Etsy and this was the fastest one I bookmarked (and I've already watch dozens. if I could show you the 50 red YT logo beads across the the top of my browser you would laugh out loud). So essentially educational. Thanks so much!
I watched this last night, as a brand new Etsy seller with just 5 sales and nothing for the past couple of weeks. Made some SEO changes on a couple of my listings that have been selling and boom! another order this morning on exactly one of those products. Now I just need another 80 hours in each day to update the rest! :D
Doesn't the lack of punctuation or dashes make the title more confusing to read though? Is there an inherent negative to using dashes if the title is otherwise spot on? I haven't come across this yet if so
I don’t think a buyer would make a purchasing decision based off the title but rather based off of the thumbnail, listing photos, product specs, reviews, etc. The tips shared in this video focus on getting your products found by potential buyers in the first place using key terms that buyers are actually searching for and structuring them in a way that maximizes your chances of being found.
I wonder this too. I use erank and when you audit your listing for improvements; they flag descriptions that “sound like they’re written by a computer not a human”
It would be nice if you’d credit the makers you’re showing! That’s my “Shifting Light” print at 4:29 I’ll definitely take your feedback into consideration, but part of me feels that art deserves a name🤷🏻♀️
A lot of people hide the Etsy seller's name so you don't get sent a lot of traffic that isn't converting to sales, which then hurts your conversion rate and affects you negatively within the Etsy algorithm. ie, people going to your etsy to only see the title and not purchase. Also why those teaching about Etsy don't share their shop names either.
Thank you for this tutorial. However doesn't this practice of writing titles go against the Etsy SEO Handbook? There it recommends to keep the titles short (roughly 40 characters) and make it readable for humans not for machines? I definitely will give this method a try and it does make sense from the keywords standpoint. It's just Etsy's official recommendations are different. Problem is even if I follow the rules of Etsy, I still see products with badly written titles and sometimes with no tags at all ranking on the top of 1st page...
Yeah, I came here just to say that. Follow the Etsy handbook. I’ve also seen products with poorly written titles rank high, the product has to be selling well for that to happen though. Products that sell a lot get bumped up in search.
This is probably the best advice I have seen concerning SEO and Titles. Makes perfect sense. I'm just starting my own shop and launching in a few days. Thank God I found you. Keep up the good work!!
Usually when I do titles like this, Everbee says title sounds like it “written by a computer.” Doesn’t this cause the Etsy algorithm to suppress your shop in the results?
My exact question too! I’ve learned from Etsy themselves that we should use titles that are natural to “humans” and not overstuffing it with keywords. Etsy doesn’t teach that this is ALSO the space you should use the maximum of it because it goes into the search results. What she teaches in this videos actually makes much more sense!
Holy cannoli. This video was worth its weight in gold!!!! Thank you so much. Never knew any of this or even thought about it but it makes sooo much sense. You’re the best, new sub here!
I have been selling for 6 months now. I started my etsy shop to seek my handmade bags and design tote bags. I have only 10 sales now. I don’t want to give up but maybe I don’t know what I’m doing. How can I improve? I guess I walked into this thinking if you post it it will sell well it’s not help. How can I email you?

Just found this video. As an Etsy newbie my SEOs are all jacked up. This video provided some great information to help me create better SEO titles/descriptions. Before I started posting items on my shop I did a lot of research on other shops and found many of them used commas/pipes to break up their keywords. I see now that that's not really a great method. Definately going to change how I've been doing that. Thank you Dylan for this great video!

I really wish I had found you two years ago when I started my shop. I followed too many wrong gurus, bought a course that did nothing and very nearly closed up my shop on New Years Day. Right now my head is about to explode rewriting the SEO for all my listings - trying to untrain my brain of everything I have been taught just hurts my head (my brain just doesn't think that way, so it's even harder).

There is a certain youtuber out there who TELLS us to put all the adjectives in first and then the noun (the product). Thanks for setting us straight Dylan.
I find it hard to place my art style in a category. I make art prints and stickers with my illustrations, but they're more aesthetic/cute/fantasy than funny/cute, and because I am not a customer of such things, just a creator of such things, I can't even justify why would anyone buy something like this (I'm a more "buy only the bear necessities" kinda person, I love making them, not using them). So anyway, this video helped me understand the SEO words better, but I'm still struggling a bit to find my art niche. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos.
Hey there, thanks for sharing your struggle. I actually use an approach that doesn't focus on niche necessarily. Feel free to send me a message on Instagram @DylanJahraus and we'll have a chat about it! Make sure to mention the code "ETSY1"
