The fact that you dont get any Remembrances after killing Rick, Soldier of god proves that you never really defeated him. I hope in future dlc that we can fight him at full power (even if he is currently the hardest boss fight in elden ring).
Killing Malenia after over 8 hours of dying gave me that same feeling I got beating Orphan of Kos for the first time! This is why we play these games!!
@@mountainman42 I also easily took like 5+ hours to beat her. I had a gravity magic build with like 20 vgr. She kept one/two shotting me with her 2nd stage flower attack before I saw some one dodge it the right way. I think I was lvl 130

“O’ death, become my blade once more” was one of the biggest hold up wtf is happening moments ever for me. Love this video, Maliketh also became my favorite boss ever, I use his armor and sword as a sign of respect.
Maliketh is way up there on my list. That said, I wish his phase 2 refilled some of his health because while I didn't one-shot him the first time around, I came pretty damn close... and then just did it the next time. His fight has the potential to be not only challenging, but it's also a visual spectacle with the way he jumps all over the arena and swings at you.
@@JJMomoida Exactly what happened to Maximilian Dood. He didn't get to see him do anything, just a couple jump attacks with Radahns swords, stunlock, riposte, another jump attack and its dead. He even felt bad because he didnt get to see the boss.

10 tries for malikith?? That is insane. My first ever fight with Malikith I was level 140 and he whooped my ass six ways to Sunday 37 times. Got better with him in ng tho. Malenia took me 52 tries.

I thought Malenia was gonna be hardest fight, but I settled on Mohg being the most challenging boss for me. Placidusax is my favorite boss fight in the game. I thought (low level) Ancestral Spirit was going to be, but the Placidusax fight was absolutely epic. The teleporting swipes, the lightning strike that stops the music in the arena? Freakin' laser beams? I love this fight.
Very respectable opinion! On max NG+ Malenia is a joke because she is very fair and once you master the moveset it’s a fight you look forward to. Mogh Lord of Blood on max NG+ 1 shots me (maybe I should start wearing the strongest armor). It’s a very fun fight by learning his delays, so much so you can get damage between combos, but some of his attacks break Rhythm like the phase 2 spear thrusts, impaling the spear to the ground and his massive HP bar, not to mention keeping track of environment cause his attacks leave bloodfire trails so backing up isn’t the best option. I’m sure he too will be a nuisance in time, but him and Godfrey have some performance issues on my PS4 so that’s a bit disappointing for me.

I’m so glad there’s someone else out there giving maliketh the love he deserves. I see way too many complain about his moveset being unfair but fighting maliketh felt like the valiant fantasy equivalent of playing tetris, dodging, punishing and hitting all the right pieces made maliketh my favorite boss
I think he was always fair. Even his strognest attacks are dodgeable and his debuff while being strong is managable. I never died against him becasue of some bullshit reason (exepct the one time I rolled of the platform xD).
I put 210 hours into Elden Ring. The peak moment for me was the build up to the boss fight with Radahn. Honestly when I entered that boss arena for the first time my jaw literally dropped. The game never quite reached that moment again for me.
Rykard? Haligtree into Elphael? Volcano Manor as a whole? Certain NPC quest lines? Dung Eater, Seluvis, Ranni and killing Blaidd? Running through an underground plane, making it to the Lake of Rot (and dying), and then running into the giant cosmic beetle who stole the sky after riding a coffin down from a hidden temple of insect warrior priests? How about entering Liurnia for the first time? The sheer scale of Leyndell? Caelid and trying to survive it? The Divine Towers, particularly your first one? Farum Azula and the Placidusax fight (!)? Edit: honestly, Placidusax is such an objectively incredible set as a whole that you must have missed him on your first run. There's no way he wouldn't immediately come to mind if you'd seen him 😂 and if you haven't, I would suggest doing a whole new run just to experience it yourself for the first time. Don't watch any videos, just go find him from the Fextra page and experience the wow..
Honestly I really like the whole setting of the haligtree gorgeous location my only problem is the crazy difficulty spike of the whole area quite annoying even for a late game location,volcano manor is honestly one the best castle locations in the game the whole grim setting works so well and rykards boss room is probably one of the most intimidating in the game.
@@joshvinjohn7691 I agree some of the mobs in elphael and haligtree are so op and give such little runes for their difficulty that you just end up running past them like those mages before the Loretta fight have way too much health just like some of the standard runebears in mountaintop of the giants
I have been saying this!!! I think it would've been better if Radagon 2nd phase was Marika and then Elden Beast after but as a different boss fight. Like maybe after you defeat Radagon/Marika you go to touch their body like Fia and then fight the Elden Beast
Malenia gets the top spot by far thanks to Waterfowl Dance. The rest of her moves might be tricky to dodge and punish but are completely manageable and way easier than Maliketh or Mohg imo. I really dislike this method of making a boss hard by giving them 1 move that is insane and the rest is pretty normal.
You can stagger her with nearly every weapon and with good blood buildup, she gets way to much easy dmg. But this doenst matter, if you get one shottet all the time.. We could say the waterfowl dance is the hardest boss to beat, not Malenia 😂
Sprint away from the first two, then dodge into her and slightly to the right or left. Took about an hour to figure out and a couple more to finish the fight. You just need to know that the hitbox is a gigantic circle, with horizontal deathstar style lines through it, so the aggressive style of dodging that's usually encouraged is no good.
Malenia was so difficult that I gave up trying to kill her, did a whole ng+ run going to about 90% of the map locations, THEN fought and killed her for the first time.
I typically enjoy this channel because of the chill style of his livestreams but he’s got some serious talent when it comes to editing (that intro was sick my guy big ups)
Of all the people who I've seen rank these bosses, you're the only one so far who has mentioned you can chain stun Rykard with the weapon art of the spear. I didn't even have to endure the hell barrage because Rykard needs to channel uninterrupted for a couple seconds before the skull start falling. Good shit fam.
loved the music during Dragonlord Placidusax and how it was also linked to one of his attacks. took me a few goes with him since he likes to move around after 50% health is gone. but man i love how the added a sound que to his attack.
A lot of people seem to not know this, so I figure I'll share the secret. If you dodge in a square or run in a small circle, you can dodge most of the elden stars spell.
I never understood why people say this boss is hard. It attacks slow as fuck. The ring attacks you can just jump or dodge though and for the start attack you just have to perma roll in zickzack. It doesn't combo at all so you always have time to heal up. And since it's the last boss in the game you already have experience and high level.
One last post: I recently specced out of Rivers of Blood into 80 Faith Pyromancer build. With 80 Faith, 40 Dex and Radagon's Talisman (for max casting speed) it is ABSOLUTELY WORTH DROPPING HEALTH POTIONS if you have Lord's Heal or Erdtree Heal. Even at max healing, a health pot will heal you for like 65% of your HP at 60 Vigor. Compare that to 100% of your HP with Erdtree Heal, that casts as fast as using a potion (with max casting speed) and heals your Mimic as well -- all while costing about 1/5th of your one mana bar. I have 14 max efficiency mana pots, so the amount of healing I can get is absurd. Combined with Giantsflame Take Thee (which just cheeses human-sized bosses with knockdown) and Burn, O Flame to protect my immediate space and pressure aggressive bosses and PvPers (as it knocks human-sized enemies into the air, and has a semi-random but numerous flame pillar design that is nearly impossible to dodge without getting CCed and nearly killed simultaneously). I'm thinking about going Faith and Arcane OR Faith and Intelligence. Both have some pretty sweet comboes with Pyromancy. I'm just glad that Pyro spells are actually really, really good in this game. Even Flames of the Fell God has a place -- if only it got a travel speed buff...
For me I probably would have put Elden beast below Godfrey on this list as most of the difficulty of Elden beast comes from having to fight radagon and conserve flasks beforehand. While it does have Elden stars, which is near impossible to dodge or outrun especially when having to dodge the other long range attacks, it’s overall moveset is fairly limited and easy to predict.

Love the vid. Like how you also clarified at the beginning that you were basing it off of no summons with a strength build. Beat the game 4 times now and can say that my rankings/appreciation for the bosses change drastically depending on build I'm using.
I just feel like adding this in here for people who may not know the reason Radahn is riding that horse. MINOR SPOILERS: The horses name is actually Leonard, and Radahn owned him since childhood and was very close to him. As Radahn grew stronger and larger, he obviously couldn't ride Leonard in the same way anymore. So once he learned gravity magic, he used that to allow himself to continue "riding" Leonard. Even after the Scarlet Rot had eaten away his mind, Leonard was so important to Radahn that he continued to ride him, not able to leave his oldest and best friend behind. At the same time though, he's almost certainly forcing Leonard to endure extreme pain and misery by forcing him to continue on. It turns it from hilarious to kind of heartbreaking....and still a little funny. Also, I don't know if Squilla himself edited this, but whoever it was did an amazing job.
As someone that abused the comet combo on the release of this game, only 1 boss managed to give any challenge (then it turned into a 2 hour fight where I had to change my build completely) and that was Millenia.

Maliketh is my favorite boss too he’s one of those bosses that seems impossible the first go around but after a couple playthroughs he’s one of the easiest because you have to learn his moveset and then when you do you know when to strike and how to dodge every one of his attacks. He’s honestly the most rewarding boss in the game and one of those get good fights where you need to either learn the timings on his attacks and know how to dodge properly or you’re gonna get punished for it. That’s one of those fights where if you don’t step up to the plate you can kiss “legend felled” goodbye. It’s also one of the only fights mimic tear won’t help past phase 2 because of how deadly he is. You’re mimic tear can’t dodge so it’s all on you and you truly get the sense that he’s not letting you get the rune of death without giving it your all. Maliketh is honestly the most well designed fight in the entire game hands down. Even the health debuff is kind of cool because it makes sense with the whole time of death and stuff it’s literally draining your life essence I find it so cool that lore and a game mechanic can fit hand in hand.
Honestly I still find Radahn the hardest boss solo without spirits or summons when I fight him at an appropriate level (60-80). He just does so much damage each time you make a mistake that it demands you use a flask after every single hit he lands on you, only like two of his attacks/combos are actually safe to punish so you end up having to just dodge or block for ages between every attack you do, and he has a tonne of health on top of that... Also having to run and dodge arrows for like an entire minute every single time you die and go back to him for the next attempt is really frustrating lol
Great vid! I took down Rykard with normal weapons my first go around and then the second time used the serpent slayer weapon and holy moly it made the fight way easier
I agree with most of list though I can't say the same with regal ancestor, morgott, and hoar loux with me first trying them all and using the ash summons my entire play through (Regal Ancestor fell out of the map for me when he teleported so cant put him anywhere and i also summoned nepheli for Godfrey so she took the slam grab attacks for me) and then Mohg I got lucky one attempt where I broke his poise and killed him before phase 2 so never really got to experience that fully
@@tescobakery1927 and it wasn't even at his arena where he cannot do the jumping attacks easily since he's program to latch on the pillars and throw nukes.

Yeah I would say it took me 40 tries to beat Melania blade of Miguel. Lol Tried it with and without summons of other players. Me and 1 other player finally did it. The other player seemed as shocked as I was when we finished her off.
I hear everyone saying that Astel is easy, but I’ve been getting my ass kicked by him. I got him down to 25% once in my 25 tries. It’s really frustrating
Great presentation! I would mistake this as official fromsoftware with the way it’s shown. Honestly pretty solid list with the exception of maybe bumping up fire giant just because of his annoying tendency to roll away. Malenia is by far my favorite boss, so much so that I practiced her for a week straight until I got a perfect no-hit run. Even then, I still enjoy fighting her via co-op. She feels like fromsoftware’s very own “Sephiroth” without feeling like a cheap knockoff.

I'm unsure as to why people find the Fire Giant difficult. Melenia kicked my ass; Morgott the Omen King kicked my ass; but the Fire Giant? Maybe it's because I recently specced into a filthy strong Rivers of Blood build, but the Fire Giant was essentially soloed by my Mimic Tear (post nerf, even).
One small lore gripe. You mentioned maliketh as "half brother of marika". This is incorrect, he is Marika's "shadow" much like Blaidd is Ranni's "shadow". He was created solely as Marikas protector and holder of the rune of death.

Malenia became one of my favorite boss fights ever by the time i killed her. Might have developed some stockholme syndrome within the 6-7 hours it took. Or maybe it’s just the monkey part of my brain shouting BOOBA in the second phase. The world may never know. Maliketh is up there too but his first phase rocked my shit so bad upwards of 30 times i only had to see his second phase 3-4 times before i killed him through pro gamer concentration. It’s wild how some move sets just click sometimes while others that people consider easy just destroy your career
Elden Beast tip: Use tiche summon Use blood hound step and switch to that weapon when the beast releases any range stuff. Use a sword with long range special attack.
I remember fighting Rykard with my +9 Cross-Naginata, I thought... "Phew, this fight was so BS making me fight in Lava". Then later found out that the Serpent-Hunter Spear did that, thought to myself... I'll give myself a pat on the back for taking the hard way through even if unintentionally because I'd so use that weapon the second time around lol. So yes, you can absolutely kill him without the special spear.

Rest is about the same Malenia did not use any of her bs moves. I killed her in the first stage as she was about to use the undogeable move. Second stage was much easier.
