The greatest part about mario sluggers was that you can literally make a team out of any mario character ever, you can play as a goomba or a squid if you really wanted to, you can even put your miis in there. That’s all I really needed as a kid

MVP Baseball’s mechanics were so smooth. 2005 still holds up today in everything but graphics.

People play MVP Baseball 2005 to this day, it’s the NFL 2K5 of baseball games. The second greatest baseball game of all time to me is Baseball Advance (2002) for the GBA, I played that game religiously via emulator on PC. It probably also had the forefather of The Show’s PCI, differing in size for each player.

If only they released an English version of Pro Yakyuu Spirits (Think of it as a Japanese Baseball version of The Show) Played some of it, and the hitting and animations IMO is better there than in The Show. That being said, MVP Baseball 2005 is the greatest.

My personal favorite baseball game(s) was MLB Power Pros. The game is extremely unknown for the most part which is sad because it is easily one of the best sports games ever made in my opinion. I still will play it every now and then even though it is 12 years old

Ok. Let’s get this straight. I know most of yous don’t consider mobile games as video games, but where is MLB Tap Sports and MLB Perfect Inning. I would put tap sports in A tier and perfect inning in C. Come on

RBI 18 had some terrible mechanics/graphics. Like the short stop would be able to catch a ball literally double his height and outfielders would catch balls 3 ft alway from them. And the ai pitching was trash. They didnt even stand in the center of the mound. Ever. And the announcer isn’t very good either

So funny story... one of the first games I had for ps2 was MLB mvp 2004... and since the player was from the cardinals... from there on I went to become a cards fan cause at the time... player is from said team, that team must be best team 🤣🤣(my though process at the time)... a separate funny story... I searched the cover again for the game... swear that I thought It was Jim Edmonds on the cover... it was Albert Pujols... I just had a moment of realization

The Ken Griffy Game on N64, back then I had a notebook where I could keep track of all the homeruns from each player. And before the days of systems keeping track of how many hours you played, I kept track of that too... and no joke.... I spent 3211 hours playing that game......played it for years

Show is the same game every year no new classic stadiums/create a stadium, just updated rosters, new cover and swing and/or pitching gimmick, 21 the same. Griffey for SNES is A tier for sure, can't think of other game with more arcade-style baseball fun on a console. RBI and Bases Loaded for NES, Tony Larussa and Hardball series on PC, Baseball Stars 2 and Clutch Hitter for arcade, World Series Baseball Genesis, Saturn and Dreamcast. So many, been playing the oldies more than ever since Show is only choice and nothing ever changes.

Bruh, in defense of Ken Griffey on the SNES, i beat the entire 162 game campaign and in my humble opinion, it does still hold up

Dude you’re tripping out if you think that the current MLB The Show games are better than the old ones. MLB 10-13 are not only the best baseball games ever, they’re probably the best sports games ever created period. The pitch speed has been gradually nerfed so bad since 13 that it’s unplayable. Hitting is stupidly easy on the newer games and they’ve taken so much of the cool presentation stuff out as well.

RBI games are trash. What is the point of playing those games. I have a Xbox one and I play mlb 2k13 on the Xbox 360 still today because there is not a decent game for the Xbox one.

When you were dragging OOTP to C I was dropping my jaw. I actually think it deserves an S tier because nothing comes close to it in terms of competition and the developers actually listen to those who play the game. The forum is nothing but back and forth between players, testers and the developers. Sure not actually playing sucks but it does have an in game mode which you can control very much of it. You are right that it's not for everyone but those games save me when I'm at the airport/on flights, can play a great game without looking like you are.

I haven't played many of these, but here's a tier list for the ones I've played: MLB Power Pros: A Tier. Great season mode, success mode is also pretty good. The commentary is poorly developed, though. Backyard Baseball 2005: SS Tier. SO MUCH NOSTALGIA. Easily my favorite childhood computer game. If I could play one game that I've lost access to, it'd be this. Mario Super Sluggers: S Tier. Mario + baseball. Need I say more? MLB 2K10: B Tier. Not a very memorable game for me, and the graphics are meh, but I do have some enjoyable memories from it. Nicktoons MLB: C Tier. I don't have much to say. It's a great crossover, but that, the commentary, and the turbo pitches and hits are the only things that really stand out to me. Backyard Baseball 2009: F Tier. I played it for 5 minutes and got bored. RBI Baseball 2018: D Tier. The pitches come in too fast and making good contact seems random, but I can still enjoy playing it. Wii Sports: B Tier. A lot of nostalgia, but like Marc said, it's not that great.

Mlb power pros 2007/2008 is a really good obscure baseball franchise that I'm sad never caught on in the states. They have a cute chibi anime caricatures, tons of modes like home run derby, franchise, and create a player. Also, the create a player had an actual storyline other than making it to the bigs. You had to balance school, work, and baseball and maintain relationships eith friends and family, and there are multiple endings too. I think it was ahead of its time and it's still an ongoing seeies in japan.
