Yeah it’s hard to think of UT Starscream as the same guy. Armada Starscream had a complete arc where he grew to respect himself and learn what true leadership is, and died a hero. Then Cybertron Starscream was the exact opposite, a complete menace to both sides. And Energon is Energon

It's mostly because by the time Cybertron aired back in 2005, people were still dealing with PTSD from Energon.....

Even comparing him to the Armada version, I still think he's equal to that. You just have to realize they took the G1 characterization in two different directions. -G1 Screamer was an incompetent backstabber who rarely succeeded, and his abuse was played for laughs. -Armada took the abuse angle and played it for drama, causing him to have a crisis of faith when briefly siding with Optimus and the Autobots. -Cybertron took the backstabbing schemer angle and played it straight, making him more competent and cunning. As a result he became the most successful iteration of the character by far, a threat in his own right on par with that series' Megatron.

Armada Starscream is an overrated emo teen.

I would like to say, as a bisexual Starscream was what GOT ME INTO Transformers. Mind you, it was because I saw him in a transformers dating sims page (which is now lost media), but HE was the reason I watched the shows.

Yes, the scene where he basically plows through the entire autobot roster, grabs the keys by threatening the kids and distracting Optimus and walks away with an entire decepticon armada is probably my favourite in the entire show.

@HispasatBot no, your trying to conflate the US and JP continuities even when Japan has acknowledged that your argument isn’t true anymore. Also while the episode in the dub is gone, the concept of it is not. Energon has a lot of times implying Alpha Q has more of a history with Scorponok than Scorponok does with Alpha Q. The best explanation is the non-dubbed episode of Energon. But to add to that, Energon pretty much claims that Alpha Q just named him Starscream, not that the spark he “found” (which is still BS and another add to the list that even the on-screen continuity is not infallible) was even Starscream’s spark because his death in Armada pretty well implies his spark was destroyed. That’s not even mentioning that Unicron has never been able to revive a spark that was extinguished, only make new Sparks

@HispasatBot um… his spark didn’t fall into the Sun. Starscream’s body and spark was directly attacked and vaporized by a blast from Unicron. Also in the UT, it’s kinda implied that Sparks cannot be extinguished by falling into a Star or being within a Sun. Just because the characters think he’ll die doesn’t mean he will. Honestly the only way I could see Starscream surviving his death by Unicron would be if Shockblast survived his and it’s canon that he didnt. Even if they intended as such, their argument doesn’t function in the world they wrote. Unicron does not and never has absorbed the sparks of anyone killed by him. Heck if you claimed it was Thrust’s spark or Sideway’s spark that would make some sense, both were killed while on or inside of Unicron. Starscream does not. Also another thing to add which is what I think the actual plan for the “sparks wandering within Unicron” thing was about is actually that Unicron was making new sparks. Which while he can do that, and even make characters close to their original versions, he cannot remake a spark that was extinguished. That was never an ability that he has and is even contradicted in other places, such as the Cybertron Comic where Scorponok is revived but again doesn’t have memories or his personality from Energon, just a corrupted monster that needs energy. More than likely his body was designed after Starscream which possibly Alpha Q could have seen either from memories of Unicron or if he was within Unicron during Armada, he might have known of Starscream and created a clone in hopes to make a Starscream that would be as moral and heroic as Armada Starscream. Um… how about explain how Unicron was destroyed Eons ago and only NOW is the Universe unbalance about to destroy the Universe? And for that matter why does Primus’ power even stop that? In Cybertron it’s stopped because the Black Hole is being fueled by Unicron’s essence which Primus can stop. In GF, it’s not and worse, both Galvatron and Starscream are dead or no longer in this universe - meaning the imbalance should be WORSE. Or that the Armor of Unicron that Megatron wears makes no sense because at best it was just given that name, and at worst it still has the backstory of being forged from Unicron’s spark. If it’s not then how did Megatron survive being torn apart by space and time? With it being Unicron it makes sense, Unicron’s immortal spark saved Megatron’s spark and as Unicron is able to do in Armada, is regenerating Megatron. The Risling would counter that by using Primus’ power to stop Unicron’s power and kill him… (or seal him in a dimension beyond space and time or something based on the image at the end of Cybertron.) Yes there are issues, namely that the EDC is no longer around… which at most I can imagine that being something happened to break relations between the Humans and Transformers. The agent could be from what’s left of the EDC claiming to be a more black-ops operation to cover their tracks for now especially since after the series ends the Alliance is reestablished. Also it was explained before that the Black Hole is messing with people’s memories… (or more accurately no one wants to acknowledge Energon/Superlink exists because it was that bad.) Other things, note that the clip showing the old leaders planning the Space Bridge project looks like Pre-Earth Armada Optimus with generics, the lines about Unicron’s defeat are changed in the dub, and while there are a lot of dubbing flubs, that doesn’t mean you should completely discount it. I mean GF everyone and I mean EVERYONE sounds like they don’t know how to emote with only their voice. And this is from an anime nerd that loves subbed over dubbed in most series. At bare minimum, saying Cybertron is not connected to Armada & Energon is like arguing that Car Robots is not in the JP G1 continuity. Yea it has a LOT of issues and is kinda confusing how it fits, but it’s still there. Unless you want to argue that it should have been apart of the G1 continuity in the US too.

@HispasatBot may I remind you first off Cybertron is not the same continuity as Galaxy Force. There are continuity differences between Cybertron and Galaxy Force just like Armada and Energon have major differences from their JP versions namely in history. Cybertron never says Unicron was “destroyed eons ago” just that he was destroyed, in fact the dub implies that was fairly recent. As for arguing that the JP continuity is combined, idk, maybe GF is eons later than ML and SL? It would explain a few things. Also that was not clearly explained in Energon, and even when I attempted to watch SL (which actually was better at explaining some things and the voice actors aren’t as grading….) it’s really only implied. The Continuity people in the US tend to give very differing answers. But even with that, Alpha Q does not need to be within Unicron by that point. Um… the end of GF has Galvatron dead, and Starscream is either dead or in an alternate dimension. I have to rewatch GF’s ending for that which I really don’t want to do because it’s boring. Um… how? Because it’s been explained a similar situation happened in the G1 Continuity, and it’s why BW era Transformers don’t interact with Humans. Also yes that’s not in the anime but it was explained by the US writers. The Black Hole is having major effects on all aspects of the universe in the Cybertron continuity, something it does not have in GF because it’s not fueled by Unicron’s essence. And remember Armada was using G1 designs for Generics. And yes, GF is the only one of the anime’s that has such flat acting all around.
