I threw GXP fronts on my '07 GP GT in 2018 (I even painted the calipers in old Pontiac engine blue) and had the rear rotors and calipers ready to go as well, but after experiencing the night and day difference that just the front brake swap was able to accomplish, and not wanting to fuck around with the parking brake swap after reading all about it on the GP forums (it looked like more of a hassle than it was worth), I sold the rear GXP brakes and am still completely content with that decision. Front GXP swap is quick and easy and offers exactly the kind of stopping power that you need when you start doing engine mods, and it fits both the 17" ten-spoke '06+ wheels like on your red GP as well as '04-05 GTP Comp-G 17" wheels like the ones I pulled off of a junkyard car for my winter tires, in case anyone reading this ever wondered if that would work.

I have been running the F-Body front brakes on my 04 Monte Carlo SS. Better than stock. Been looking to upgrade the rear brakes.

I have some GXP calipers with 12.7 inch drilled+directional rotors on my 04 Grand Prix GTP and I think they work amazing!!! The car weighs 3375#s with me out of it and I’m only 120#s so for a 04 grand prix that’s pretty light!

What did you do for weight reduction?
@Grand_PrixGTP

@@kirbyswarp Take out the back seat, take out the spare tire and little jack in the trunk. I swapped out my struts for ZZP coilovers and that saved about 40lbs as well. Then my stock exhaust got replaced with all lighter weight stainless steel ZZP power logs, high flow catalytic and catback. I was thinking of swapping my front seats for lighter weight competition seats since its not a daily anymore but so far thats all the weight savings I’ve done

Theoretically, would there be a difference in stopping power between impala police rear brakes and GXP rears? Currently have the ATS/GXP fronts and impala police rears on my regal. Also bought the GXP 18in wheels with the front brake setup. Made it super easy to install without worrying about clearance. Plus it only added $240 to the cost not including tires.

What’s the spec on the wheel&spacer on the Cadillac caliper? Minimum offset?

I just picked up a set of wheels and 200TW tires for my Malibu, only paid $300. They're Focal F20s in 16x7 with a +40 offset. Do you know if Camaro brakes would still fit under them? From what I could find Camaros come stock with a 16x8 but the offset is bigger. Hopefully I can start suspension mods soon especially some springs. I'm looking into getting universal poly bushings to replace some of the stock rubber, I've seen people on forums get aluminum control arms from 99 Grand Ams and load them with poly bushings for their cavaliers. I'm also trying to find info on sway bars for the N bodies, a thicker one in the rear would be a big improvement.

I think they will fit under those wheels

I just watched for the umpteenth time your video on cold air intake on the 99. Have you come up with any mods to lower underhood temperatures? I currently have a k&n drop in on 02 gtp but have a cai on a 00 gt that is heading to the scrap yard.

Which brakes would you roll with for stock 04 Impala LS with stock rims?

F bodies with quality parts would be pretty good

I only use EBC Brakes on my Grand Prix. I installed their S4KF1026 kit in 2021 and they’re still running as they did on day one of installation. They’re amazing. I’ve owned a set many years ago on my previous vehicle. Much shorter stopping distance under extreme braking or emergencies. The EBC Red Stuff series is plenty for my daily use. I never have to change brake pads unless they’re damaged. They don’t wear unless you’re equipped with 500HP+ on a hotlap track event, which that isn’t me. lol Plug & Play fitment on all Wbodys, longevity and extreme build quality.

@@SalemDoyleDefinitely. They’re insane how good they are. You need a set for your GTP. They’re having a sale now too online at a few different stores for the set I mentioned.
