Ranking the Outlander Series!!!!!

I'm on Dragonfly in Amber, and it's becoming so much more than a romance novel and it's hard to get through but I know it will be worth it. I'm so excited to get to book 3. And we've met Roger!!

Great video! You are correct....they are all good and even if it is at the bottom it doesn't mean I didn't love it. My list is: 1. Written in my Own Hearts Blood 2. Voyager 3. Outlander 4. Dragonfly in Amber 5. A Breath of Snow and Ashes 6. Firey Cross 7. Drums of Autumn 8. An Echo in the Bone Iam still reading Bees and am loving it....so far it will be near the top. You know Claire's feelings when going back and how she responds...I can see how she felt...wrong or right. It shows she is only human. And it makes her insecurities. Please, please read "The Exile" a graphic novel of the first half of Outlander from Jamie's POV......"Virgins" a novella of Jamie's time in France in his youth. The Lord John novels...Especially "The Scottish Prisoner" told from Jamie's POV during his time at Hellwater. And the short stories...like the one about Roger's Father....so so good.

For me it is 1. Written in my own Hearts Blood 2. The Fiery Cross 3. Outlander = 4. Drums and Voyager. 5. Dragonfly in Amber 6. A Breathe of Snow and Ashes 7. Bees 8. Echo Was recently reading part of Dragonfly in Amber and you made me think about how differently Claire reacts after she slept with Louis vs after she slept with John. Sleeping with John was worse in a way because it was a choice where as with Louis it was still a choice but one she felt she had to do for Jamie. Yet in DiA she feels like she did something wrong and in Echo less so. I think the distinction in her mind is that she was consciously unfaithful to Jamie in DiA but in Echo she wasn’t. Also she is over 30 years older so it makes sense that her reactions would be different because you do change as you grow older. I always defend the beating storyline in Outlander because I think the whole point of it is to show that Jamie is emotionally intelligent. He punishes her because that is what men do in him time, and women obey. But he is capable of seeing that it is wrong and saying ‘No, thats not how it’s going to be with us,’ rather than saying ‘Well that’s just the way things are.’ A lot of men in that time would not respond to Claire’s reaction the way he did. Jamie loves Claire because she is his equal - he couldn’t love a meek and subservient woman.

i’ve only read the first book but i LOVEEEE the show so i really wanna finish this series. i love the setting so much i really like the way you talk about ch 22. that chapter wasn’t my favorite but it woke me up when i was reading it. 😂😂

New subbie here, you have convinced me to read the Outlander series, I actually have #9 so only need 8 more. 😂 Great video.

*Spoiler* * * * * The complexity of Randall's relationship with his brother is FAR more disturbing if you've re-read Outlander (specifically Jamie telling Claire Randall calls him Alex during his attack in the final jail scene...)
