highly anticipated part 2 of ranking TTPD the Anthology !! it’s been 2 months since the album came out which is absolutely INSANE! now that i’ve had more time with these songs i feel like i’ve really gotten to know the lyrics and which ones resonate with me the most and which ones maybe not as much. i might have some hot takes but i figured for the sake of a ranking video it's time to be (a little) problematic hahaha :)

9:31 I actually really love the title for this song - it's literally all of these other names, not hers. It doesn't matter who any of the other people are because all she can think about is the fact that they aren't together anymore despite how much effort she put into the relationship. He's probably moved on (perhaps several times) but she hasn't

I think she intentionally named it that to point out the male and female names, which highlights that this person can be with men or women. That, along with the drug reference, the 'internet starlet', the time span of a decade, and the nature of their suspected on/off relationship makes me think it was written about MH. (I know that some don't want to discuss who songs are about, but I think in this case when people don't understand, it makes a lot more sense within the context)

How Did It End? is my favorite song on the entire double album, probably. I just love songs that shatter my heart into a million pieces, and the melody of this one is SO pretty! I absolutely love the second chorus when it says, "Guess who we ran into at the shops/Walking in circles like she was lost." The imagery of that is just so beautiful and so devastating. I feel like this song is such a clear picture of how she must have been feeling after Joe

The Manuscript is a beautiful reflection of her life, and your reflection matches mine. It is perfect and showed her greatness in writing! My Top: Manuscript, Whose Afraid of Little Old Me, I Can Do It With A Broken Heart, The Black Dog, Clara Bow. But I like them all so much. I like Clara Bow because I feel her fear is to become obsolete. It is a fear those who are good at there jobs all feel. Who one day will replace me. Her work ethic and her abilities will never allow her to become obsolete even if she feels it. Reflections of a 74 year old. She is Iconic!

Robin is beautiful if you have children. When they are little you can protect them and they are so unaware of all the pitfalls in life but slowly you have to let them go and have the good and bad experiences for them to reach a mature understanding of the world around them.

Down Bad i feel like these two halves are similar to how a view folklore and evermore. 2 sides of the same coin. like folklore ttpd is more consistently good but like evermore the anthology has higher highs and lower lows. that’s just my take tho

Hearing you say "If I has these songs in high school..." about the prophecy. Well, I just finished 9th grade and what a fitting time for the prophecy as I'm kinda in a situationship and I'm definitely delusional. I literally remember a month ago just wishing that this guy would tell me he liked me instead of leaving the most horrendous but obvious signs while listening to the prophecy on repeat. I also remember seeing this quote- "Born to relate to so high school, forced to relate to the prophecy" I cannot tell you how much I feel this in my core. Anyways guys sorry you had to hear about my non-existent love life

Finally some appreciation for The Albatross. This song is the new Invisible String, one of the most obviously beautiful sounding songs and really clever lyrics that goes over everyone's head. I actually really love Chloe or Sam, the third verse is always what grabs my attention in terms of lyrics: _Could it be enough to just float in your orbit?_ _Can we watch our phantoms like watching wild horses?_ _Cooler in theory, but not if you force it to be_ Just very nice writing, great flow, and the rhyming?? Orbit - horses - force it? Crazy. lol I feel like I have to separate TTPD and The Anthology, they are just too different in every respect; sonically, tonally, lyrically and unfortunately I think in terms of quality too. I think TTPD is surprisingly lazy for Taylor and the delivery and subject matter is not very tasteful imo while The Anthology shows off what she is truly capable of. Her new reliance on swearing constantly in her songs is definitely not something I like, it takes me out of it every time I hear it. It gives off bizarre "hello fellow kids" energy and sounds extremely tacky.

The bolter/peter/prophecy are my favorites 😊 I think because I really relate to those three on a spiritual level haha those three songs are my 20s love life in a nutshell lol dating a lot and bolting, a sacred connection that never came to come find me, then wondering if this whole process is ever gonna end or if I’m gonna die alone lol honorable mention goes to “I look in peoples windows” but it’s not long enough!

I am right there with you on The Black Dog. It’s hands down my favorite as well. When I heard it I knew it had that ‘X-factor’, that special something. Everything you say about it is exactly how I feel. I can’t wait for your guitar tutorial for it. I know you’re going to translate that into an incredible acoustic. Also, doesn’t she say in the lyrics to TYA that “everyone will think that this is about a specific person and only you and I will know who it really is?” I agree it’s always felt like a red herring to me too.

Robin is the most underrated song in the entire album in my opinion. Everything about it is beautiful and perfect 🥹❤️ and it’s up there in my top 5

The one thing I don't like about The Prophecy is that god is supposed to be in the sky which is a metaphor to say he's far away I know it's a common belief but it's just not exactly how it is in reality Because people can reach god within themselves

actually! i disagree with most of your views and rankings of the anthology but we all have different tastes. i look in peoples windows is probably in the fourth tier and the bolter is in the second tier for me
