The best example I can think of immediately is the case of the professor Jordan Peterson. He is an activist for free speech and spoke out against an authoritarian bill in Canada that would criminalize not using a person's "preferred pronouns." He didn't say that he is against someone politely asking to be referred to with a certain pronoun, just that it should not be a crime to not use whatever pronoun a person identifies with. Not just a trans person wanting to be referred to as the gender they are transitioning too, this includes the made up transtrenders that want to be referred to in bizarre "gender neutral manners" such as always calling them "they" or "ze and zir" or whatever else. So again, if a trans person wants to be addressed in a certain manner, he would likely do that for them, but he is against using the violent force of government to FORCE people to speak a certain way. So the extremists that want an authoritarian government to legally punish people that don't speak how they demand they speak declare that Peterson is just "transphobic" and his arguments are all "hate speech" and thus should not be listened to or debated. He is willing to talk to them anytime to discuss their differences but they refuse and try to prevent him from speaking to those interested in hearing him speak. They harass him now by going to his talks and blaring horns, drums, and for example screaming calling him a "transphobic piece of shit" over and over to try and intimidate him into silence. They claim they just want trans people to be respected and not afraid, yet they have no problem dehumanizing him and anyone else that happens to disagree with these mean spirited authoritarian bullies. I would recommend aluminum instead. It's not as resilient, and it's usually more expensive, but it's less than half the weight of steel, and it's naturally resistant to rust. One would probably still want a thin kevlar vest under it, both for the added defensive value, and the fact that chainmail can be bloody uncomfortable without some pretty serious padding under it, even when not under attack.

At the same time the environment where you grow and where you work have a great influence at how you are going to develope. In that case that you are talking about it is both personality and influences from people and situations that make someone like this. Many people tend to be selfish because they think that others are burdens to their success. The problem is that they never learnt to care both from the others and themselves and that by caring for the others the can also find happiness for themselves. It is also difficult to relate with others sometimes so they may give up and try to continue alone. Anyway, the whole issue in reality is much more complex (it involves both the people and the state) but I wanted to write about that because I believe there is nothing wrong with human nature. The issue is whereas you choose to follow your nature and how you handle the situations of your life in my opinion.
