With how raphael does his contract with yugir as a type of poem and also how hes flamboyant and likes to put on a show whenever he meets your character in game he comes across a bard. Though without the bard skills in combat. Then there is how he talks in rhymes at times. Hes probably a bard.
Hell yeah! I was surprised to hear Raphael singing his own song! When I heard him singing, I was like "What in the Disney Villain is this?! He's singing his own song!" I love it!
I'm so glad this is the universal response, I've intentionally avoided spoilers until my recent playthrough, and this was my EXACT response lmao "oh, some new boss music, with lyrics, nice! gonna stop and listen for a moment. WHAT IN THE DISNEY VILLAN BULL- THIS MAN''S SINGING HIS OWN MUSIC" he's literally an evil bard lmao sings his own music, actually uses some team buff bard powers only thing he's missing is a hired warlock to spam black tentacles under you while HE spams irresistible dance
It was soooooo incredible!!! Loved the music so much. I rewatched this video to edit and I must admit I even love how expressive my own response is haha
House of Hope was the single greatest dungeon in gaming for me, the whole experience had me 100% locked in, trying to successfully steal everything not nailed down, rescuing Hope, navigating a hellish maze, and finally an amazing end boss fight. 💋👌 Magnifique.
@@VievPlaysGames Funny enough, over the course of 4 playthroughs, I never once interacted with him. I always just sneak in, steal the password and bounce
I feel bad saying this, but I loved that when it started to look like a party wipe that it timed well with the song saying this was going to be your tomb.
I loved this fight. All the dialogue and music were great. This a very difficult battle if you aren't ready. At level 12, with the right spells, it's much easier. Also, having Shadowheart as a Monk, really helps. She is a beast when set up the right way. This game is a MASTERPIECE!
I'm not entirely sure but I think the female voice singing the song in the house of hope is the voice actor for hope. So in a way its a duet between Raphael and Hope. Just like what youd expect in a musical where 2 main actors are singing while in opposition of eachother. It kind of fits hopes character since all through the quest freeing her shes constantly saying that they are doomed.
Raphael is far from the most dangerous villain in the game (unless you make a lot of really stupid decisions), but he is the most satisfying to squash.
It's so good that I was caught in between; listening to it or doing the fight. 😄😄 Went for both and I felt I was fighting for the souls of the party and all those with them.
just finished this part in the game and my sole goal was "KEEP HOPE alive!" cuz she instantly became one of my favorite characters. especially with the little speech at the end about 'hope' i willl have to check out ur streams at some point.
Fun fact I haven’t seen mentioned: if you cast silence on Raphael, his singing part doesn’t happen, meaning he’s supposed to actually be singing while you’re fighting
Looked up to find the song a few days after doing the same fight, it genuinely shocked me how good this song is - it was such a shock hearing a soundtrack in this game with lyrics (as opposed to outright background music). A friend is now playing through the game on my computer, can't wait until he first reacts to it. The song is so good
@@VievPlaysGames He's still in act 1, it's gonna be awhile. Got him to play as Durge though so it's been fun watching him react to all of the *what the actual fuck* things that Durge can do
woah I have seen probably 20 playthroughs of this and I have never seen that string of dialogue with Yurgir. Normally he says your skulls would make excellent trophies but you have the option to attempt to persuade him to join you. Its a high DC (30) but if you succeed he does join you and says that you are honorable and helped him so he chooses you. But whatever you did he just flat out joins you, no persuasion needed. I love this game.
What's up with the RATS in the Gauntlet of Shar in Baldur's Gate 3???? Helping Yurgir and or Raphael ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GuJgF7__Lzo.html here you can find how he likes us
Very charming reaction to the song and the stream itself :3 Have the same opinion in respect of Laezel. She has so transparent and cool character development arc.
it would be impractical but if bards had unique vm insults for bosses I'd want mine to say something like "I liked this song better when it was called 'This Is the Moment'" hit the theater kid where it hurts
On tactician especially enemies target the fuck out of squishier characters aka those with the lowest ac. I have had enemies run past my front line just to get to the mage lol.
I was never a song/theme enjoyer, I often mute the game music when I play games unless it's soulsborne games, but as soon as I heard Raphael's voice during the song, I knew this is some next level stuff!
Ik snap de verwarring, niet dat er echt typische Nederlanders zijn, maar je ziet er inderdaad niet typisch Nederlands uit, misschien komt dat door de oren :) Ik vind je enthausiasme gaaf overigens!
there is no way you went from having combined 29 party hp to winning that fight without any spells since you didn't rest or even heal up before the fight
@@VievPlaysGames One thing a lot of people forget going into that fight is hope is a cleric, she has access to the high level divine intervention. If you use that in the fight you can bring all party members back to life once with full health i think.
