As a nurse it does look like Bipolar. I’ve battled depression for 31 years and my husband has been saying “Fire Away” for 30 years. It’s a hard fight, but if you don’t fight depression it will win every time.
Just remember that the depression and feelings of nothing is going to be better is The Lie. Make sure when you are having a good day, when the sound of maybe a songbird or a child giggling or the sight of a cute puppy or a beautiful sunset makes you smile, that is The Truth. Make sure to pack those memories to remember The Truth so that you can recognize the lies for what they are and can know that it will get better even though you’re up to your neck in the mud.
I agree. I'm bipolar, diagnosed in 1994 so it's been a life ling struggle in every aspect of my life. I've tried numerous times to not be here anymore. Please hang in there and live for the beautiful days ahead.
Wonderful reaction. Yes, she has bi-polar depression. This was Chris raising awareness of mental health issues. At the very end of the video a link appears onscreen to a mental health helpline. The song itself is one of unconditional love. Appreciate it separately by watching Chris & Morgane sing it live.
People like you make us weak. “Dr. Said”. Let me tell you in last 6 years the doctor never pointed out I quit taking care of my body. I started without her and am happy. Float in your own sinking ship.
This song is to bring awareness to mental health issues. She is bipolar and it shows the stages of the manic episodes where they are so happy and also the flip side of the severe depression. I have a son who lives with it, and it is hard loving someone and watching them go through this. I almost lost my son several times, but God said it wasn't his time. He seems to be doing better at handling it, but at the same time, it is my biggest fear with him. In this situation, you have to make sure they know that you are there and love them no matter what. That is what Chris was saying to her in this song "to give him all that pain she was dealing with, that he could take, so give it your best shot". But as we know that no matter how much we love them this still happens. I just thank God everyday that I still have my son.
Iwe had 2 beautiful daughters and the youngest had trued kill her self, but she was Bi-Polar . My husband had passed away at 47. She’s been thru so much trauma. I took her to a mental hospital which got her on medication. I’m so grateful for her. She’s engaged and has a sweet 3 yr old little baby. I also my oldest daughter is married and has a sweet and beautiful daughter. My sister in law daughter drank motor oil and she got the help she needed. God is with us and I praise God for being there. I love my children and grandchildren and I love my Lord almighty!! 💖💕💫🙏
@saccomad 0 seconds ago Other songs to listen: Death Row - Barely Alive - I was wrong (live) - Sometimes I cry (live) - Higher -Whiskey and You and many more songs (past and present). You can't go wrong.( his live versions are best).. He covers all music genres!
Chris Stapleton did a lot of research and put a lot of respect and advocacy into mental illness awareness into this video. It shows the extreme highs and lows of being mentally ill and the ones that try to save their loved ones. It also shows the representation that even as a cop, who saves so many, couldn't save his loved one from her mental illness on his own. Acceptance, awareness, and action, stopping the taboo and speaking openly about these issues, helping your loved one to get help is how we save one another. 💚 ; your story isn't over yet
Such a great song, mental health is such a huge problem worldwide and we all need someone that will be there for us when we aren’t able to be there for ourselves 😢❤
Yes you nailed it. The message of this song is more about loving someone so much that you’re willing to go through hell with them. Like, Fire away with whatever you’re going through. I can take it because I’ll never leave you.
The way I took the lyrics: “And pick up your sticks and your stones/And pretend I'm a shelter/For heartaches that don't have a home Choose the words that cut like a razor/And all that I'll say Is fire away/Take your best shot/Show me what you got/Honey, I'm not afraid Rear back and take aim And fire away” He loves her and will always be there to catch her and bear the burdens she carries with her. Unfortunately, sometimes love and unconditional support isn’t enough to overcome the monsters in our heads. This video is tragic and too real.
Everything done by CS is superb.. he rolls through so many genres and he’s madly talented. His voice is the voice that soothes my soul. I’m so happy you started your journey with this song....🔥 away😢 Hell break your heart and have you begging for more 💕 Mental health is so important and not addressed enough! Cry is a must heart to hear his talent💯 death row will leave you in chills. He also wrote for years for other artists... Everyone does Tennessee whiskey first... if you do it do it with Justin Timberlake and Chriss wife Morgane who is a monster singer herself and compliments him beautifully 💕💕💕
I am Bipolar. And everytime I hear this song or watch the video I think of my wonderful husband that has dealt with so much from me. It can get this dark. Thanks for the reaction!
Great reaction. To me, Fire Away is him telling her give me your pain. Let me take it from you. Let me help you through it. We'll get through this together. Everytime I see this video, I break down in tears. So powerful!
This is a beautiful song, beautifully sung. "Parachute" is far and away my favorite song by Chris Stapleton. If you enjoyed this one I'm confident you'll love Parachute. (and it's mostly positive IMO)
After watching it about 100times: every single time I think this time it won’t bring me to tears, but it does! Over and over again … it’s just too emotional 💔
Chris Stapleton cannot just be lumped into the “Country Music” category! He is much closer to “Soul Music” than country. Just my opinion! Whatever you want to call it, Chris Stapleton is amazing! 🌸💐✌️
Tennessee whiskey-live sxsw Chris Stapleton. This one is a must. Btw the backup singer is his wife. Also Chris Stapleton star spangled banner at the super bowl
This isn't usually one that most reactors start with - but it's a great song, and the video has such a strong message. Hope you check out more, and I respect that you are getting way out of your comfort zone. Music is an infinite horizon and too many only experience a sliver of it.
Dude, I love your content but when you finally put the pieces together and realized the true mea of this song…. Chefs kiss. Just the look on your face as the pieces fell into place…it was an amazing reaction. I’ve never seen Mr. Stapleton in person, but, I honestly think that if possible, I’d rather you see him than me. I’m assuming your an Air Force kid from some of your previous videos. My oldest brother used to be an instructor at the AF Academy. If you want to go see Chris, I’d pay for two tickets sir. Holler at me and I’ll do my everything to make that happen. I honestly think that you being in the music Industry…you’d appreciate it more than I would. All I’d ask in return is check out a guy from Aotearoa ( New Zealand) named Stan Walker. Amazing Grace or his cover of a Kayne song called Ultralight Beam. Holler at me and I’ll see if we can make this occur. Aroha from the hills of West Virginia
I've watched this video so many times on so many reactions.. There is ONE line that stands out to me and it's when he is being questioned by doctors and yells I don't know!! * I didn't find her * Imagine spending your life ( his chosen life ) always being in time , until one day he's not.. :S
Do yourself a favor…treat your ears to Chris Stapleton singing Cold live at the CMA awards. Best live performance I’ve ever heard. chris stapleton cold cma awards 2021
You're spot on. The video is about mental illness. She was depressed. I'm guessing they're trying to portray a clinical manic depression where the mood swings are either crazy high or crazy low. And sometimes they go from a high positive point to a very low depressive episode at the drop of a hat.
Welcome back AndiRoo. Chris Stapleton is my fav and specifically this song… And CrY…. Live. No one can break a heart like Chris can… also Death Row.. Chris is a monster story teller
This is the only video he has made. His record company wanted him to make one and he decided if he had to, it was going to count for something. Please explore more Chris Stapleton.
You should definitely check out Tennessee Whiskey by Chris Stapleton, that's one he's very well known for. My favorite version is Tennessee Whiskey (Live at Farm Aid 2018).
The only issue with that one is it's missing Morgane Stapleton's Harnonies because she was on Maternity Leave with the Twins. I know everyone plays the Austin City Limits performance, but it really is the best overall option for a representative performance with great acoustics.
Chris Stapleton is on a whole different talent level. His live show is Absolutely Brilliant! Please please please do “Millionaire”. He sings it with his wife of 17 years. It’ll give ya a good dose of hope. Keep on rockin. 😎
A fabulous video of Chris is Tennessee Williams Austin City Limits live performance. Chris Stapleton is a tremendously emotional artist. Sorry, just found your reaction. 😊
Andiroo, you funny for this one 😂 Talk about just plunging into the deep end with Chris for his first experience. Check out Cold live at the CMAs, Cry, I Was Wrong, Tennessee Whiskey.
They started out as a normal couple. Over time she became bipolar or possibly schizophrenic with suicidal tendencies. Fire away means when she was having a moment he would let her say anything or do anything to help get her through it. In the end he couldn't be by her side 24/7 and her mental issues finally got the best of her. The video shows the good times were great for them but she changed and he stuck it out hoping the woman he fell in love with would be that person again someday. That's true love at its most extreme level.
@Tom-Yes! BMFS!! @black pegasus, Id suggest starting with "Dust in a Baggie" the version from when he was a little younger (he's sitting on a couch, hangin in like a basement with some friends), and then maybe, "Turmoil & Tinfoil" live version. That should get you started down the hole...Id be interested in Andy's opinion as well! Ty! 😊
Too many people try to put CS in a box! He can sing anything! He collaborates with many artists! Adele recorded one of the songs he wrote. Many of his influences are are from blues, rock, R&B, Bluegrass, and yes soul music! I consider him a bluesy rock soul singer with a country accent 😉 Most reactors start with “Tennessee Whiskey”
Country is known for its storytelling and life lessons. Stapleton is amazingly talented! For something a little different, maybe give Home Free a shot. I cant say enough good about those guys. They have a HUGE catalog, and a great place to start is Man of Constant Sorrow. They cover many genres, so Im sure youll find other songs that appeal to you as well. Oh yeah...and they are a capella! They will blow your mind with what they can do with just their voices!
This is Chris using his platform to focus on mental health awareness. You are correct, the woman is portraying bi-polar disorder. There is a "Making of Fire Away" video where it is explained and how the concept came to be. BTW, Chris Stapleton is the bartender in the video. He's a humble guy. He is donating all of he proceeds to a mental health resource organization. If this is your first introduction to Chris, try "Cold" live at the CMAs: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gZc42RRxfr0.html
Hooray for diversity on the channel! LOVE this! I love just about all genres and I love seeing you do Stapleton! (Totally started watching reaction videos for Ren and now I’m hooked AND subscribed!!)
I have been married to someone who is bipolar and who has attempted three times. She can "rare back and take aim" as many times as she wants. The video and song are a perfect match.
14:49 that’s Toby Keith and he AMAZING as well. Whatever you check out by a Chris make sure it is a live performance. The recordings don’t do him justice.
Need to react to a lot more country music. That’s where it’s at!! Trace Adkins song Badonkadonk is awesome but you need to also watch Home Free sing it because the beat boxing is off the chart as well as Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash. I have been listening to Home Free since they came out. Great group! Tony Keith has also songs one of which is I’ll never smoke weed with Willie again. Willie Nelson is also a great musician. David Allan Coe sing the Ride, think in it he is referring to Hank Williams Sr not Jr, both Sr and Jr are legenyin country music. Definitely need to broaden your horizons on country music I promise you want regret it. Btw love you channel. Came across it today and haven’t stopped watching 😊🩵 new subscriber 😊
The show they did at the CMA was pretty amazing too. They sang drink you away and Tennessee Wiskey. If your into country i recommend you checking it out if you haven't already. Its super dope.
Stapleton is a great writer. He's been writing for years before he became a performer. Luke Combs is also a great writer. I love artists that write there own stuff. Check out Morgan Wallen. If you like these 2 you will like him as well.
