the guitar part 3 mins in. my fav part. I was a sophmore in hs when this song came out. I was OBSESSED with David Coverdale. I don't know if anyone realizes that Tawnie is gone now. She was married to Coverdale.
I can do that! If you're a gymnast or cheerleader or both, this is what you do! It's fun if it's your passion!! 💯 Oh, Lita Ford & Ozzy... Close My Eyes.... Absolute Banger!!
This video is so iconic that it is referenced in the song "1985" by Bowling For Soup. "she was gonna be an actress, she was gonna be a star. She was gonna shack her ass, on the hood of whitesnakes car"
She also made it into another song with "Still Of The Night" ;-) Whitesnake making us bang our heads In the still of the frickin' night Coverdale banging Tawny Kitaen And the world all felt just right Steel Panther - 1987
Paula Abdul was hired to do coreography for this video. Tawny Kitaein (Bachelor Party / Hercules TV movies and show) started doing her thing on the hood of the car(s). Paula told the director you don't need me - she already knows what to do. I get warm fuzzies watching her hang out the window of the car looking so joyous (while the bugs are hitting her in the face).
This is one of my favorites ever!!!! One of the best "roll the windows down and blast the radio" songs. Whitesnake and Bon Jovi were both 80s big hair bands.
This song was probably their biggest commercial success, but their most famous riff was from Still of the Night. You really need to react to that one. And the woman in these videos was a model that David Coverdale ended up marrying. She passed away a few years ago.
You are just like me on alot of levels man,im in my mid/late 40's,i was heavily into the rave scene here in the UK and pretty much nothing else throughout the 90's.i use to go out to pubs now and again and all these tunes were on the jukeboxes but i didnt pay much attention to them.now,i hear them back,im abit older, calmer,i listen to the lyrics, the note patterns, the drums etc.alot of the stories in these songs are relatable to things that have happened in my life.i dont like to tell anyone but i quite like some of these old tunes on the quiet.dodgey perms these guys have got though,it has to be said, the 60's,70's,80's,90's before it all went digital was a great time to be alive as far as music is concerned😗
They are a great band. In my top 15. 70's and 80's music was the best. I'm 65 now and still roll the windows down and turn up the volume all the way up and rock my a-s off. I'll carry it to my grave.
STILL OF THE NIGHT!! by Whitesnake - In caps to get your attention. Another massive hit and another impressive showcase of David's vocals and the bands talent.
From what I understand, Deep Purple had broken up and David had tried a few different "bands". He formed Whitesnake and this song is him saying here he goes again doing the only thing he knows, which is music. It's a very honest statement of where he was at that point in his life.
Nothin' like a little Tawny and a Hair Band!! Late 70's early 80's all about the Hair, along with skintight pants. Anything to make a girl's heart flutter and sigh. Oh, how we all wanted to be Tawny. Released in 82 was on my playlist heading to work followed by Loverboy's "Working For The Weekend" Knew exactly when to slap that tape in so it would end when I parked.
This song had the lyrics censored, can't remember if it was US or UK but the term hobo was termed too offensive and was replaced by drifter. I grew up on Whitesnake, love 'em: The hair, the sexual energy, the guitar, the vocals.
This is a good tune. It was so overplayed that to me, it's like hearing Stairway to Heaven. The ever so shy and lovely lady(lol) in this video is Tawny Kitaen. She passed away a couple of years ago. She was 59. RIP
Great song. Glad you enjoyed it. Happy I subscribed, love your reactions... Mental one of theirs you should do is "In the Still of the Night" their best imo And you must check out Coverdale and Paige.....
Should do korn covering Metallica "one" for the "icon" tribute on VMAs or whatever....killed it hard, and Metallica watching just jamming lol awesome as hell
Tawny Kitaen really was something. Unfortunate that she had issues. But, as an 80s kid, I rmbr she was very distracting in the video. I'd also suggest "Cherry Pie" by Warrant. Use your imagination.
If you want to react to a great Def Leopard song react to “Photograph”. That was their 1st hit and that song blew up like wildfire. I generally hated that genre of music at the time, but I love that song to this day! So 🔥
BP , scientists solved the chicken egg question . A bird laid an egg and changed in the proteins in the egg made its baby a chicken . The egg came before the chicken 🐔 ❤ You’re welcome ! Lol
@Black Pegasus - You should check out some of their older songs. "Love Ain't No Stranger" and "Slow And Easy". Much more rock songs than this song. This is good, but different than the old songs.
I had this on cassette tape, and when I went into the army forgot the tape in my mom's car, I was deployed and couldn't call or write her for a while, she later told me that she would listen to this song loud AF and cry because she missed me so bad, she died in 1998 and now I hear it and think about her and cry too.
Yup was my Moms favorite song, then her mom heard it, and it became her favorite. They would take road trips and jam this and The Beastie Boys "In Sound From The Way Out", their acoustic junt.
Total classics. Bon Jovi is from 83, Whitesnake are from 78, but their vocal David Coverdale sings from Deep Purple from 73 to 76 And with local bands from 66... Almost 60 years career.
What upsets me.. some Hair bands didn't get the respect they deserve.. actually many didn't.. great music. and Whitesnake was of the best. And Hair Bands wrote their own music.. I ain't gonna lie.. I was raised on Elvis and Frankie by my parents.. absolutely Iconic voices in our history.. and I love them both.. but they didn't write their own songs.. Hair Bands did... and as a child of the 80's.. this is golden to me.
Same here. We had so many actually good bands, lead singers, guitarists, etc. And, none of them get the props they deserve, simply because they're kinda written off or joked about for being labeled a "hair band." It was like people didn't take their music seriously or give it a chance, all because of the "hair" or "glam" lables.
Tawney and Dave were married. She was incredibly beautiful. And Rudy Sarzo (bassist) has been on more top selling albums than pretty much any bass player ever (he was also in Quiet Riot and played with Ozzy for years). Dave has one of the greatest rock voices (check him out with Deep Purple too)! So much talent here.
RIP Tawny Kitaen (the girl who did the splits on the car). She appeared in several 1980s music videos for Whitesnake and others, and she also acted in several mainstram and TV movies, including "Bachelor Party" (1984), as the bride-to-be of Tom Hanks' character. A multitalented actor gone too soon.
LOL, in 2002 she was charged with domestic violence, in 2006 charged either possessing 15 grams of cocaine, in 2009 arrested for driving under the influence, in 2019 arrested again for DUI. I'm sure the list would be longer if she hadn't died before the last case went to trial. Yeah,. Multitalented would cover it.
