David Coverdale is the singer, Tawny Kitaen is the girl. They were married for awhile. She was his girlfriend at this time. Whitesnake has quite a few otger big hits, definitely worth a further check!!!

Actually, they were married. It didn't last. She was in a movie with Tom Hanks, Bachelor Party. She later ended up having an affair with OJ Simpson while he was married to Nichole. Nobody's perfect, I don't judge. Just sharing some interesting information.
Whitesnake is David Coverdale's creature. Dave (the singer) founded Whitesnake after his departure from Deep Purple in the late 70's. During the 80's he moved to the US and jumped on the hair metal bandwagon with mixed success. Their only other big hits were, as correctly stated in the other comments, "Still of the night" (my favorite) and "Here I go again".
David Coverdale wrote this song for Tina Turner, but the record company told him to keep it and record it himself. It reached No 2 in the Billboard charts in 1987
This is one of my favorite ballads of the '80s. David Coverdale has one of the best rock voices. He has an interesting history; he started his career as the second lead singer for the English band Deep Purple in the mid-1970s. After that, he had a couple of solo albums under his own name (one of them was actually called White Snake) and then he founded the band Whitesnake. It started out as a blues-rock band in the early 1980s and had a number of hits. Then, in 1987, when this song, 'Is This Love?' came out, they had transitioned to more of a 1980s 'hair metal" phase. Some people thought they had become too commercial at this point, but as an '80s child, I still liked the music. Among the rotating cast of musicians in Whitesnake, David Coverdale is the only steadfast member of the band, as he founded it. As for future reactions, I personally really love David Coverdale's acoustic version of 'Sailing Ships' from 'Starkers in Tokyo'. It shows him singing along with a guitarist in an intimate setting, and it really showcases his vocal power.
"Here I go Again" another hit of Whitesnake. Sooo much out there sounds like you never heard: AC/DC(not including the basic 'air staples') to The Allman Brothers(Soulshine my favorite....but love hearing MANY more of theirs.)

My favorite song ever in this genre is Winger: : HEADED FOR A HEARTBREAK". It is just soooo good! 🔥🔥🔥 They are incredibly talented. Hard rock musician, who is a classically trained musician. Best song ever for me to this day. 🙌
I’m going to say what every Whitesnake fan says, try “Still of the Night” one of the greatest hard rock songs ever. They had been around for 10 years or so since the late 70s, fairly successful especially in their native UK, but in 1987 that song and album broke them into the US in a big way. They were a massive band after that for 4-5 years, still touring these days with a sizeable global fanbase.
This was big in the 80s all the girls went crazy over him...this whole album was a hit....it was a good time in life ...the music was great in the 80s ...

He was also discovered at 19 years old and put into one of the biggest bands on the planet headlining concerts of 100,000. When Deep Purple disbanded he formed Whitesnake which was huge overseas. They eventually broke into the US!

If I am not mistaken, the lady in the video was David Coverdale's girlfriend at the time this was recorded/filmed. I do remember me and my female friends being jealous of her lol!!

I saw them live on Easter Sunday 1990. David Coverdale (singer) opened the show by shouting "Happy fucking Easter Mother fuckers. By that time Steve Vai had taken the role of guitarist. He did an epic 15-20 min solo using about 5-6 different guitars placed in different places around the stage. Fire ass song and a memory in my heart. Also BP the women attending that show (and that was at least 60 percent of the audience) were absolutely amazing. It felt kinda like a heavy ass modeling show.

Her and the lead singer David Coverdale where together for a lot years. She was a sad victim of substance abuse. She shared her addiction with all of us on Dr Drew's show along with other famous celebrities. The bass player Rudy Sarzo also played with Ozzy Osbourne and Quiet Riot. The Drummer Mr. Tommy Aldridge got his start with a band called Black Oak Arkansas and also played with Ozzy at the same time as the bass player. Check out still of the night

I went to a Whitesnake concert with my older brother. He had bought tickets for him and his girlfriend, she ended up leaving him before the concert, so he invited me along. I found it extremely funny when he found out from David himself about what each song was about; my brother had thought they were all love songs. I really enjoyed the Coverdale/Page (Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin) hook up on their 1993 album. Shake My Tree and Pride & Joy were the 2 songs that hit the radio in my area. The whole album is pretty good though.

I saw them live with Def Leppard. Both bands were awesome despite their lead singers being 64 and about 60 respectively. They would both run rings around the crap that is around now - talent and bands that actually played their instruments

You actually had the name's origin pegged. Singer David Coverdale was doing a live call in radio show, and a young teenage girl called in to ask where the band got its name. I swear I had never heard someone blush over the radio as he tried to politely answer her. He finally just said it had to do with anatomy and quickly took the next caller. And yes they had about half dozen hits.
