I actually like that you pause and analyze so much-a lot of people seem to find that kind of thing annoying but it's never made sense to me. I've never heard anyone explain to me why pausing is bad...unless U pause n having nothing to say?! This guy is a damn genius. Reactions are a way to hear a song you've heard a million times BRAND NEW. ITS like Em or Juice or pick your person just dropped a new song when U find a good reactor. That's the point I thought. @@tonyfro23 I think it's because some reaction channels pause to try and make a hilarious/clickbaiting reaction that they can use in a thumbnail or the intro for example. They often don't add to the conversation or to what has been said and instead just go like "WOAH THIS IS SO CRAZY", instead of voicing what they're thinking about it. With Knox I like that he's taking his time to voice what he thinks about what has been said or the little changes in the background, something that's changed in the video, if something changed in the instrumentals, if there's a double or a triple meaning behind something; he points it out and on top of that explains it. I usually never catch things like that, but when he explains it, it makes so much sense and educates me. I mean in the end you can see that he's not just reacting, he's also helping people understand some things they usually don't even notice. I especially agree with you saying "Reactions are a way to hear a song you've heard a million times BRAND NEW." I couldn't have said it better and it fits so perfectly especially for this channel

Tbh. I hated it when people pause and try to break down lyrics cuz they dont ever really enjoy the song. And even if they did, it doesnt show. But Knox breaks it down in a short amount of time, understands perspectives, enjoys sceneries, enjoys the song, and puts out music for us to listen to. One of my fav youtubers and music creators. Ur underrated bro.

I can’t stand when people wanna get views so they react to something popular and get a cashout in adrevenue but they can’t afford five minutes to google to understand a little bit of context so they don’t get it and just sit there and pause at random times to keep the vid compliant. sorry for the rant, but it’s just so much better with Knox who just gets it and puts legit effort into reacting and really analyzing what he’s watching.

@@anomaly3215 dude. Research means a quick google search of the names and making sure he has a basic understanding. Sure he doesn't always do that and he often just knows what he's talking about. In many reactions, he acknowledges that he did a bit of research and it makes his reactions much better. Of course I don't mean that he reads the lyrics or something like that, I just mean he doesn't react to BTS and go "What language are they speaking?"

I love the little details in the lyrics, for example the white guy was sayings "its like we live in the same building . But split into two floors" even though he is trying to say we aren't that different but live in different worlds, he himself isn't even realizing that by thinking of different floors he puts one of the two races above the other. When the black guy is saying the same line he is saying " we live in the same building but split into different sides" implying we live in different worlds but on the same level.

The "if your a Republican you must be a racist" is a stereotype, which is what this video and song is full of. It's just like how he made the black man flip the table and flick off the hat. You're LITERALLY falling into the cycle of division and hate that they've divided us with (as most people do). Take a step back and imagine your "enemy" cares about their family, they have complex feelings and thoughts. They're actual people. Even if from your standpoint they seem "ignorant" from their standpoint, which you may not be privy to, they may have different concerns than you. It's about understanding people who're different then yourself, and how if we try and shed our preconceptions maybe we can come to love each other like we should.

I appreciate your thorough breakdown of the song. You're one of the few reactors who grasped one of the deep layers of the song. The irony in the I'm not racist adlibs. And, I the black guy definitely did defend himself more than anything. But don't get it twisted, the black guy is also portraying racial stereotypes on the white guy. Which a lot of people don't or refuse to pick up on. I LOVE your bit about the n-word. Like, I'm black. Grew up in inner city philly. But even I hardly use it. Because a lot of the black people I'm around are offended by it REGARDLESS of the skin color of the person using it. So, in order to foster relationships and love I don't use it. And, I agree about the bit about making the song political. Not every republican is racist. A lot of black people I know personally don't understand that. I appreciate you saying that. A lot of people shit on this video. But, I think it is good Joyner put this out. If nothing else at all the video starts discussion. Which is what we need. We won't get anywhere fighting, or even worse, ignoring the issues. We have to talk to each other.

I think if both sides started taking down those barriers and stopped assuming the worst from each other (like when the black guy said that when a white guy says "niggar" there's a hidden meaning under, but when a black guy says it, it's just their a way of greeting each other, or all the drug stuff the White Guy said) we'd be able to hash out any differences. Instead, everyone is just holding on to those barriers and expecting everything to just work out. Sure, some people are trying to fix things, but there are just as many not. But trying to keep things exclusive to your race is part of the problem, keeping those barriers up. Regardless of how the word "nigger" is spelled, it came from the same place. By not letting the meaning change, it's keeping racism associated with the word. By keeping the meaning the same, you can never get past it. I'm a firm believer that anyone should be able to say anything, as long as they're not trying to hate on someone/a race. I also believe any people should be able to enjoy the culture and slang of any other peoples. By claiming it as only for you, you are literally putting a wall between us.

What's cool about this song, is that it gets people thinking. Cause they both say that they aren't racists, but they're saying some really hateful and racist shit. And they both make some good points too, but they attribute it to the wrong reason. There is a disconnect, a misunderstanding of each other's worlds. Neither of them truly are racist, they are there, willing to talk their shit out and try to understand one another. They're making an effort to sift through all the bullshit they've been fed. I love this song, and I wish more people would really listen to and learn from it.

If you grew up in large black communities then you also know that stereotypes are created by numbers. And a high percentage of black households have one parent usually the mother is the one taking care of the kids because the father is gone. These are issues that need to stop being glossed over like it's something made up

I’m surprised you didn’t touch on the part where he says “...maybe the police would stop killing you...” and the implication that all the responsibility of ending police brutality is on black people changing their behaviors/dress/etc. Which is obviously wrong, and eliminates any examination of the police and the responsibility they and their institutions have. Great breakdown! I always tear up when they hug. We need more of that and less of all the rest of it. ♥️

I love you man, but I think you kinda missed the point of the video. You did catch the racism and stereotypes of the white guy, but you missed the subtleties of the black guy. 1. It starts when with his anger and him hitting the hat off the guy and knocking the table over, that being the stereotype that blacks are quicker to violence. His digs back at the white guy, while hitting with racist lines and stereotypes. Neither was better or worse in my opinion and if you find yourself agreeing with either more than the other, then you missed the point. This video showed the flaws and things both sides are usually guilty doing to defend their side or push their idea. The ending was great, but very unrealistic, but that is an end goal that we should strive to reach. But I'm glad Joyner started the conversation, but there always seems to be a little bias, and that's a bit sad to see. If anyone is trying to figure this out, or has read this far, I'm a 17-year old black guy from NC, and I'm wishing for a better future and I hope bbn I'm not bbn alone.
