He is a Scott - he's got a soccer body (and owns a soccer team!). Huge Icon. Huge hits, for decades. Never lost his looks nor his voice (slightly changed after throat surgery later in life). Hit maker. Great band. He's silly and puts his humor in his songs and performances but he will never let you down. Complex sounds and stories. One of my major foundation groups - Love Rod Stewart. ❤❤❤

Not really. Roderick David Stewart was born at 507 Archway Road, Highgate, North London, on 10 January 1945, the youngest of five children of Robert Joseph Stewart (26 December 1904[12]-1990)[13] and Elsie Rebecca Gilbart (14 December 1905[12]-1996).[14][15] His father was Scottish and had been a master builder in Leith, Edinburgh, while Elsie was English and had grown up in Upper Holloway in North London. Married in 1928, the couple had two sons and two daughters while living in Scotland, and then they moved to Highgate

I remember driving around in Liverpool, Jul 1971, still reeling over the Beatles break up, April 70, and Maggie May, his first hit, came on FM radio. I had just spent 10 years fixing guitar amps and microphones to produce quality undistorted sound (faithful reproduction) and her was the most gravelly voice I'd ever heard. Changed my understanding of pure talent in music. Please react to that song. Love what you do. Thanks!

Check out - "Tonight's the Night", "Young Turks", "Forever Young", "Hot Legs", "Baby Jane" and so many more. You had to have confidence to wear the pants that we wore back then. Jeans and other pants were tight. Not everyone could get away with it. Music pushed boundaries back then without a lot of people getting their sphincters wound up so tight. We just had fun!

Rod Stewart was definitely something to look at. It was that big of a song... of the era... was great... He had some good songs. The first song that ever grabbed me and made me love music... oddly was by Barry Manilow... it was "Mandy". I still remember it. Came out in 1974... played on the radio a lot... but it was the first song that really touched me and gave me a love for music. I was 8. I think I was 12 or 13 when this song came out... loved it too...

Rod Stewart is an absolute legend. Pure and utter sign of his time, charasmatic, bit sleezy, great lad. Just had a thought for you to view it from the time being used by another: Watch Kenny Everett doing a spoof of him doing this song for his TV show. I guess you could view it like an early SNL. All the artists loved Kenny back in the day, he even had Freddie Mercury for Sid Snots (Kenny Everett character) British Eurovision Violence Contest. An ex DJ who was very edgy for his time. He, like Freddie, passed from HIV/AIDs.

The female lead in the video is the Norwegian model Lillian Muller, who was Playboy's Playmate of the Year in 1976. She later appeared as "Miss Chemistry" in Van Halen's "Hot For Teacher."

Rod has an amazing voice. One of my favourite tracks is In a Broken Dream with Python Lee Jackson. Loved seeing him live.

It's hard to believe that this was released in 1979! And - oh yeah - he was/is sexy! He had a string of hits including "Maggie May" (1971) & "You're in My Heart" (1978). He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth in June 2016.

DISCO! I almost laughed out loud when I saw that you reacted to this. It was one hot song back in the day. And I did not think Rod Stewart was "sexy." Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

Rod Stewart working the stairmaster had me spitting out my ☕. My mom use to 💕 to sing this song when it 1st came out & I was beyond embarrassed 🤣 Rod had all the moms back in the day.

Most Rock artists on the 70's scene did contribute one or more disco compositions and made it look easy. That was Rod Stewart's; The Rolling Stones with "Miss you" and "Emotional rescue"; Kiss with "I was made for lovin' you"; Queen with "Another one bites the dust"; ELO with their Discovery album, and more specifically "Shine a little a love", "Last train to London", "Confusion", "The Diary of Horace Wimp", "Don't bring me down", etc.

I remember my mom going out and disco dancing to this song and so many others when I was a little girl! 💃🕺

Only Rod could sing hits like this and then put out 3 albums of updated versions of old 30-40's songs and have them sell just as well. The man is just so damn charismatic he can sing anything and we'll still think he is sexy! Not to mention that he has aged REALLY well.
