Fun Fact:Golden Earring was founded 1961 and into the '00s was still playing with the same lineup since 1970, doing 100+ shows a year in The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. The group is from The Netherlands, where this was a #1 hit. They had only one other hit. It didn't come until 1982, with "Twilight Zone." -This Song Was On Rhythm Video Game Rock Band 3

It's a Dutch band 🇳🇱 and the lead singer is called Barry Haye. They played untill about 2 years ago. Unfortunately the gitarist has been diagnosed with A.L.S and can't play anymore. They didn't wanna go on without him, so they stopped. Twilight zone and When the lady smiles by them, are also great songs from the 80's

4:34 mark..I don't mean to sound anal even though that's exactly what it comes across as, but Hate and Love are not opposites of each other. They're so closely related only a thin line separates them, like two sides of the same coin. The opposite of Love is actually Indifference. Much like Love, you have to care enough about something in order to hate it. So don't be hatin' on anybody just because you can. It doesn't do anything to them and it only damages your own spiritual wellbeing, physical and and emotional health and inner peace and happiness. It's not always easy to do for anyone. No good has ever come out of hated or hateful behavior. Love is the answer. Just 17:00 remember that only Love that can break your heart heart. I don't recall anything in the Bible saying such a thing. Psalm 119:163 juxtaposes love and hate: "I *hate* and abhor lying: but thy law do I *love* ." (boldface emphasis mine) The first part of Pslam 97:10 (KJV) says "Ye that love the LORD, hate evil:" Psalm 101:3 says "I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me." So you guys live in Georgia. Atlanta was an absolute hotbed of 60'2,70's and 80's rock. People from surrounding states went to Atlanta to see the biggest groups all the time every single week. Places like The Agora Ballroom, the Fox Theater, Uncle Tom's cabin etc. For instance the Agora ballroom was a medium sized old theater where you could see AC/DC, Ted Nugent, The Allman Bros, UFO, etc for $7.00. Uncle Tom's cabin was out in Stone Mountain where big names played also. There was also Oz's record store in Stone Mountain with a wizard of Oz design. Even flying monkey's to take your record selections up to the front register. Really fun time in Atlanta.

Not only the premier speeding song. Came out in 1973 , and by 1975 the police had found something out. The young got a lot of tickets. And the older folk got pulled over and turned loose. The reason was that people getting pulled over were hearing the song but not listening to it conciencely. The expressways were fairly new and the beat of the tires in the cracks between slabs. To match subconsciously to the beat of the music was causing older folk who normally drove at least 5 mph under the 55mph speed limit were getting pulled over for 75 to 95 mph. (Depending which road).

You have to do their big song "Twilight Zone (When the Bullet Hits the Bone)." It may be even better than "Radar Love" I'll give you a suggestion about another great, and at the time controversial, song from another 70s band I bet you've never heard of, "D.O.A." by the band Bloodrock. It's about a plane crash. Inspired by an experience one of their friends had. They tried to ban it, but some stations defied it and played it anyway and the ban only made it more attractive to listeners, the forbidden fruit.

Hey, Ya'll. I can verify that unless a rock band could afford a seamstress or even better, custom made outfits, these guys in the band bought their stage clothes in the misses department of a department store or a trendy boutique. They usually had to buy the largest sizes to fit their backs and their shoulders. The more glittery, the better!

Golden Earring were from the Netherlands….love their sound. They were very big there, and recorded over 25 albums. They only stopped performing in 2021. One of their other international hit singles is called “Twilight Zone”. The video is kitschy, but the song is great. BTW Glam Metal band White Lion did an awesome cover of Radar Love back in the 1980s.

New Wave is generally just casually lumped in with classic rock but honestly I think all of this stuff is fascinating. The compositions are always creative and groundbreaking, at least at the time the were released. This included of course. Like it all gives the feel of the neighboring genre yet there's a lot more going on in the songs. It's almost like it was a "proto-Alternative movement" if that makes any sense.

The greatest driving song ever written. When I started listening to rock, Golden Earring seemed like a one hit wonder, with this classic. (Actually they are Dutch and probably had lots of hits in the Netherlands). But then they had another giant hit in the MTV era with a perfectly cheesy video for Twilight Zone (Bullet Hits the Bone). And they had a minor hit with Quiet Eyes. I have the album with this song, Moontan, in my car. It is a very interesting album which includes some Jethro Tull style flute.

According to google there is not a group called Golden Radar. What was Golden Earrings number one song? Radar Love They achieved worldwide fame with their international hit songs "Radar Love" in 1973, which went to number one on the Dutch chart, reached the top ten in the United Kingdom, and went to number thirteen on the United States chart, "Twilight Zone" in 1982, and "When the Lady Smiles" in 1984.

This song comes on and suddenly I'm riding shotgun with Louie in his baby blue Gran Torino with this album in the eight track player and a half pack of rolling papers jammed up under the tape cartridge because the tape heads have drifted out of alignment and the other tracks bleed over if you don't tilt the cartridge just a little bit. So weird. I just watched, tonight, a story on TV a about that lake. "Unxplained" maybe? Weird that it would be the same night that you mention the lake.
