What a great tutorial and even better piece of inspiration. I just cannot express my gratitude to your work, Peter and Bec. I hope one day I could attend your workshop.
Rara is lovely. Very beautiful body proportions. Lovely skin tone. Just noticed, great feet and toes. Very natural, not damaged like so many girls have. Your assistant is to die for! But needs more clothing. She's so cute! I really love and thank you for showing amd explaining your lighting. I'm leaning so much! Thank You! ✌😁👍💞
I have ben watching a few of your videos and love them. I shoot a commercial look as well in my studio. I love your tripod that you use. I have been thinking of getting something similar.
Great series on lighting and composition. BTW, the eye AF on the newer Sony bodies is just magical. Do you feel you still get the quality "look" from it that you can with the Hasselblad?
New here, enjoyed your way of Photography but man can you jibber jabber about a nipple pffff, it's 2019. Coming from the, probably, most open minded country in the world, I think it is no big deal until you put it in the SPOT LIGHTS and turned it into an Elephant
..i think, this comes all from americans, they are so prude, so ooover political correct, that is bad....they see everwhere creepy photographers..so sad..here in austria i photograph since 30 years and as it goes i am older and older than the models, but they know me, they trust me and they say yes you can touch my hair or skin to oil...they never think i am creepy...this is a crazy time now for some working relationship..so what..?i enjoyed the vid.. greets from austria...🙂
i would like to invite you all to come to my part of northern Ontario in the winter where it gets to be -30c in the winter i even have room for all you at my place just so that you can experience real winter ;} good video
I have no idea if I am old school or new school! All I know with no fancy equipment. No controlled lighting. Zero training or schooling. Even now getting some really cool photos with a cell phone. Seems like it really doesn't matter what I am using. But! My work is now in the Smithsonian. Two books one under Art&Phtography. Hit number one! A photo in a major film- documentary. 5 music magazines. A lot of major artist- musicians. And a whole lot more. All this does not make me better! Just trying too share my story with you guys. So! Maybe there is another way of doing things! I seem to break all the rules!
@@PeterCoulsonPhotographer Thank you! You understand. I am going to give this some thought. Will send you one of my favorite photos! Ps. Something else I do. Will share that at another time. Mite turn the photography world upside down! Thank you!!! Please stay in touch. Also you have no idea how many times I got laughed at! No would take me seriously. Even the camera I had was falling apart! At the famous Glastonbury Festival in UK. Some of the great European photographers. Really gave me a hard time! Even said I should take lessons from one of them. Well one photo was used at Arthur Lee's memorial service. Lead vocal, songwriter, and vocalist. Of the legendary band ( LOVE) Their album is Forever Changes was just voted greatest album of the sixties! One more fast story. 9/11 happened I went to NY to volunteer and help in any way. Also took my film camera. Well I heard the Smithsonian was putting a exhibit together. Looking for photos from we all know the most photographed event of our lifetime. Everyone said forget it! Don't call them! They will not even talk to you or pick up the phone. Well I called got invited to Washington. Then they took 27 photos! I donated all of them. Then the week of the opening at the American History Museum. They called me and told me I now have the closing photo of the whole exhibit. After that no one laughs at me any more! Thank you! For listenning!
It's great when models can trust a photographer. As a photographer, there is nothing more valuable than that trust. Don't squander it, abuse it or risk losing it.
The end narrative was a bit of a shock. I’ve always admired your engagement with models but with professional detachment. Stay the course, your work speaks volumes and the models obviously adore what you capture.
Hello Peter, its more than a year since you make this video. You talk about getting your "look" on C1, but you don´t have any time. Did you have do somthing about this? Can i get your "Look" in C1? I love your work, i love your direcctions. Regards from Germany. (Bec, I love your shirt of LedZeppelin!)
Hi Juan, I have tried a number of times and spoken to developers at Capture One, but it is just not possible for me to get my look in their software. I did a shoot the other day tethering to Capture One and left my settings flat and then got my look through Photoshop :)
Hi Peter, It was inspiring to see you blasting away with your Sony at the end of this video. You mentioned that the eye AF really sticks on the eye, is it just as sticky at wide apertures. I’m asking because my eyes are not as good as they ought to be and I really need the best Eye AF thats on offer today. Regards
25:11 "Has any other photographer ever offered you tape?" No. But the other photographers also do not give her such tattered robe to put on. That's what she used the tape for, actually. ;-)
Mr Coulson I'm learning so much from you. I always worry that my models might think I'm sleazy and I'm not so I try to get my girlfriend to come and assist and that way they more comfortable. I will start carrying tape with me.You are such a professional. John from Sydney
Hello guys. may I ask what is the name brand of your studio camera mount. i love the idea of being able to roll the camera around but still keeping the ball mount rigid.
Peter Bec and RaRa, You guys are amazing I am always waiting for the next video watching you work and you using your creativity is amazing to me. Please continue to do what you do. Im sure Im not the only one that you provide allot of inspiration in what we all love to do. So again Thank you so much...
Love the way you teach. You are an Amazing Team. Should you make it back to NY, let me know. Buy you a Carona. P.S. Every Photographer needs a Ra Ra....
Oh wow, just by watching one can see the experience you got under your belt Peter Coulson! It takes years to learn to see light and how it reacts like the way you saw before hand how by placing the white panel by the window will react on your subject. Thank you so very much for sharing so much through your channel!
All I see is ... money left money to the right money on the money on the money. I feel like I am supposed to compete. I am extremely impressed with the models abilities and professionalism.
great photos but so much expensive equipment, how about going simple and create an entire shoot using only disposable film cameras. Its like asking a master painter to create a masterpiece with only 3 colored crayons plus black and white. Can YOU get great photos using a cheap camera? or do you need all that tech?
Have you ever done any tutorials about using the channel mixer to achieve your look using the channel mixer in PS. I get confused when you talk about using the green channel.
What a great tool (the one which help you to have the perfect contrast live during your photoshoot)! Nice session! Your tripod is insane too. (I just discover your channel!) I just wonder if you are not afraid sometimes to be lost between too much takes. I really enjoyed the very "at home" mindset.
Oh my, a difficult one. Let's forget the lights, the fancy gear and that sort of stuff for a moment. Could you talk to me about the eyes, what is it what you see? What is it what you feel? When captured will it be the last picture you take? Could you show us close up what it is you see and what isn't? A comparison of some sort. I know, kind off what you're looking for but am unable to articulate or turn that it into pictures. When i look at the thumbs on youtube i can directly spot RaRa shot by Peter? No specials, no special pose, no fancy lighting etc. it stands out far above the rest! Please give us a lecture on the eyes, the windows of the soul, enlighten us with you're personal thoughts, do's and dont's. Thanks a million
Amazing work and video Peter... May I ask is that the Manfrotto Mega Boom and Salon Stand?? The boom im curious about as need something that size for work I shoot in the studio...
@@PeterCoulsonPhotographer / Oh no , shame on them !! I've been a member there for about 6 years , and have noticed over the years that they ( the moderators & management ) really are a bunch of hypocrites about many issues related to content . I will gladly follow you here on You Tube and is there any where else where I can see the images you are posting ?? / Thank you so much for the reply . P.S : please mention to that young lady Ra Ra , she has the coolest stage name I may have ever heard ! ;-) . Rick .
Great - Thanks Peter and the team. so good to see an Aussie pro photographer at work. I learned a lot. More please on working with models of both genders.. So glad not to be caught in endless gear reviews. Practical Photography at it's best.
Love this thank you and learned so much. I am transitioning to portrait photography from wildlife (the hands are getting bad from to much cold) and I need my hands. I’m in northern Canada so almost 8 month deep freeze can take its toll outdoors chasing beautiful wildlife photos. So now I have found your channel and knowing I will lean by going back and watching your videos will help me a lot. Keep up the great work and again thank you for producing great learning videos.
I love these videos. I use Phocus a lot for my FFF adjustments, but you have really opened up new avenues for me with this programme that I wasn't really too aware of with regards to tethered shooting. It's really nice to see HOW you work..well explained etc, and I always take something away from your tutorials. Once thing I do miss..maybe I'm not listening too intently; which lens are you using on your H6? Keep up the really good work, much appreciated. David near London.
