Hard to believe looking at it , it has probably been one of the most important aircraft the USAF has ever operated

The second one coming back from a mission is AWESOME, I see it leaving and coming back most days from my house, but close up like that is mega.

When we see the pilot wearing a space suit, we are reminded that a U2 isn't an everyday sort of aircraft.

I saw the U-2 perform at Miramar and I was impressed by how much noise it can produce. It feels like it shouldn't be make any noise at all.

The last time I saw one of these in real life was back in 1990 when it took off from RAF Alconbury, amazing that this a 69 YO design.

Here is a story that can now be told.. The space program was about this aircraft.Huh? here we go...The first "space craft" Was USSR Sputnik. So what you say?? Sputnik was flying over the USA missile installations in the Dekotas. Francis Gary Powers was shot down in a U2 flying of the USSR missile sites... but USA could not get all the way " 0ver USSR" But Sputnik could fly over the Dakota's! So it was the cold war...The USA space program was funded from DOD budget. most involved in the Space Program had Top Secret clearances. it was not about the Moon, it was about spy craft. My father was the film engineer that processed the classified images at "Building 35" at Sandia Labs, Albuquerque. this was from " death bed" conversations with DAD. yes, we did go to the moon. And Siberia...
