Damn, a lot of people here don't really like begonias. Personally, I love them! The weird funky colors, leaf shapes and textures are so beautiful.

Lol! Our tastes are so different. I never met a begonia I didn't like. They're the most incredible, colorful and beautiful plants and when you see them in person some of them are actually metallic. These plants are glittery!!! It amazes me every time I look at them.

Very sorry to hear that you are not enjoying Begonias so much. Next to Aroids, Begonias are my 2nd favorite family of plants. Why have they all thrown their leaves off-center? Nearly every other kind of plant goes for near-perfect bilateral symmetry. But Begonias have succeeded with "lopsided" in five continents! I find that skewed leaf plan appealing, and then they do many other fascinating things with that plan; curly-q's, wavy or jagged edges, hairy, waxy, and may I mention the colors?!!?

I'd love to see a Hoya rare plant index. There are SO many cool ones. Easy ones, common ones, and super rare and hard to grow ones. Fragrant vs unscented, fuzzy flowers, vs waxy flowers, fuzzy vs waxy leaves, etc.

Honestly, Kaylee, I'm right there with you on begonias. I think they're neat and I understand why people like them, but they don't do much for me. I even have a shop near me that always seems to have crazy looking begonias and I'm never interested in picking them up. I have a common rex that was one of my very first plants, and a wightii, which I adore, and that's plenty of begonia for me.

I didn't like Begonia's before going to a club meeting and plant swap with them! A lot of them are more stunning in person. I do wish that Begonia's weren't sensitive to direct sunlight, the shimmer on them makes their leaves and flowers look like candy or jewels.

One of the greatest collections of begonia I’ve ever seen is owned by Amazon (yes, the online shop taking over our lives) they have a gorgeous three story spherical greenhouse. They dozens of species of rare begonia. Plus philodendron, peperomia, and other tropical plants. If you’re in Seattle on the first or third Saturday of the month get your tickets (it’s free and stunning)

Funny enough, the way you feel about begonias is how I feel about philodendrons

I don't really like begonias tooo much, but I'm trying to open my heart to them because of their huge range in leaf designs. As someone whose partial towards tropicals and peperomias, begonias fall into this middle ground of "its OK...". They seem to have a dramatic streak to them - - something that also reminds me of ferns 😂

As a begonia lover i feel like you definitely covered it well i will say there are sooo many different types of begonias that it would probably be a very long video if you were to cover every type of begonia but there are definitely a lot with fun patterns but I'm sure begonia's are definitely a plant where you either love them or hate them or even have one but aren't sure about whether or not you really love it

I love my begonia maculata, but that's more or less the only one I'd willing to buy

begonia are not my fav by a long shot as well, but looking at them irl its like you can see the individual cells. Each cell looks like its filled with water and this gives it an iridescent, glimmery kind of look, even the common begonia rex varieties. Also, sometimes, what in pictures looks like mint or white, looks a shiny silver irl.

My bank account is soooooo not ready lol but I've missed this series!

I've got the begonia Silver Jewel and the Maori Haze and I love them. The maori was the first plant I picked up when I was getting into plants. Its so pretty. And my silver jewel is big, fluffy and volumptious and I love it.

The way you tell begonia from another plant from what I found out on the internet and watching RU-vid videos is it's the flower and that is definitely a Begonia flower

Begonia rajah is endemic here. They love to grow near waterfalls on hilly forests. Begonia pavonina is endemic to the north of my country. And so does begonia amphioxus. Endemic to sabah borneo. I remember entering a green house in Sabah full of them. O.O

Loved the video! I only own two Begonias... The Begonia Maculata Wightii and Begonia Red Kiss. The Red Kiss is by far one of my favorite plants! It’s absolutely STUNNING! It has a bright metallic red leaf with black centers and edges. New leaves emerge with a metallic pinkish green hew and mature to the amazing red color. It’s a Rex Begonia so it’s not difficult to grow in the home. If you’ve not seen one I highly recommend your look into one. I love mine! Don’t know that it’s a rare one though.

I have the cane begonia bug. They are sssooooo beautiful. Most of the rex ones also don't do much for me, but omg those cane begonia species and cultivars. Amazing.

I really appreciate this video! I am a big fan of begonias. What impresses me is that there are so many varieties and look so different from others. I also think they are a challenging species to keep and care for. At least with my limited experience. It just makes it so much more interesting for me.

It’s so visible that you don’t like begonias. This video would have more positive energy if you tried not to show the dislike. I treat begonias as a challenge , they aren’t easy to keep and that’s maybe why so many people here claim they’re not their thing. They are beautiful plants, the foliage is amazing and they have this exotic look that I admire.

I have black fang begonia, it does the same thing as pavonina with camera flash where the leaves turn blue/green!

I just picked up what I believe is a tie die begonia and what caught my eye is the way the pink shimmers in the sun light

I have a brown/greenish fuzzy begonia that looks like the hallows eve! Very fun plants :)

Im just now starting to like Begonias and its only Rex hybrids that i truly enjoy. Im just obsessed with the variety in colors that they are producing now a days and how the leaves are so different looking. Some have a swirled center, some don't. Some have crimped edging on all the leaves, Some don't The variety is endless and i feel like begnoia offer so many options for people. If you are into bonsai, there are about a couple hundred variety that have the potential to be turned into bonsai. If you love a color combo that doesn't have blue in it, i bet it exists currently in a rex begonia hybrid. Steve's Leaves is a great distributor and has TONS of videos covering all the plants they have to sell. Logee's is another favorite of mine for them. If you love black and red, they have swirls, spots, and shard patterns. If you are a fan of silver foliage, there are probably a hundred variety of combos with silver included. I currently own a Rex "Jurassic Jr" "Arctic Twist" hybrid and a Rex "China Curl" on the way. The China curl has an almost burgundy and silvery pink swirl pattern plus it flowers unlike a lot of hybrids. Ive had the Jurassic twist for less than a month and its already produced so many new leaves, each one different from the last in its color way. I'm just obsessed with watching them come in and change colors every day as they get bigger

inb4 all the begonia experts swoop in and nit-pick about hybrids and such ;) Honestly, I didn't expect you to do begonias anytime soon and I'm glad you did! Most of the begonias I see near me are rex-type and I'm just not into them, so it was cool to see other options if I wanted to dip my toes into begonia waters!

I thought I hated Begonia until I started gazing upon a few compulse-buy, couldn't find anything great at the plant shop rex begonias which had started taking off in my house a mo th or so after I brought them home. Escargot was one of them, and some other spiral purple and silver variety, and I realized they are the most exciting and satisfying plant family to collect. You can alter their appearance to suit you depending on light and bri g out the most ideal colors and shapes, and the variety is endless. I thought I hated begonias until I had a bunch to sit and appreciate long enough. Now they are easily my favorite sort. Little Brother Montgomery is my PRIZED possession lol. Should have featured that for a palmate variety that looks like something out of an 80s glam metal band or something, or maybe a David Bowie video.

I love the maculata, batwings, u-641, amphioxus and the pteridiformis so I will keep an eye out for which ever one i can find, thank you so much, I just love your program and the way you deliver

Begonia Baik looks like a tarantula, it's cool.

Found a begonia breakdance at a local nursery and had to snap it up. Mine doesn't have such long stems as the one in the picture. It's growing in the normal begonia bushy pattern. I absolutely love it.
