To send the whole army wit the support of almost all Europe - 350 million inhabitants, was criminal. "According to the testimony of Generals Halder and Jodl, only 13 German divisions remained in the west during the Munich negotiations, of which only 5 were professional soldiers," Churchill mentions in his memoirs. When the German Chief of Staff Colonel General Halder saw that the London gentlemen did not want to defend Hitler at all, he sent his emissary to London at the beginning of 1938. A lieutenant colonel with the same complicated last name as the previous envoy, Boehm-Tettelbach, had a similarly complicated mission. “My task was to demand from the innermost circle of the leading officials of the English ministry abroad to show intransigence to Hitler's demands. The people who entrusted me with this task did not count on anything other than a decisive "no" expressed by the English government," the ambassador himself will later testify in the newspaper "Rheínische Post" from July 10, 1948. The German officers did not understand the essence of the political game at all. They believed that if they offered new arguments to the English, they might change their position. Especially if the British were told that they had a plan ready to arrest Adolf Hitler in the event of a general mobilization in Germany. The common sense of straightforward generals and colonels was not enough to understand that the visible "real" policy was only a derivative of the decisions made behind the scenes. They could not understand that the occupation of Czechoslovakia by Hitler had long been agreed with Great Britain and was being carried out in agreement with both parties. And that the arrest of Hitler represents for the English the collapse of their long and carefully prepared plan... Instead of preventing aggression and taking a hard position together with the USSR, the British continued to "press" the Czechs. First, the Czechoslovak government was offered to terminate the treaties with France and the USSR. Later, in a joint Anglo-French note dated September 19, they called on Prague to hand over the Sudetenland region to Germany without delay. "The further retention of areas inhabited by the German majority within the Czechoslovak state", the document stated, "cannot continue without this leading to a de facto threat to the interests of Czechoslovakia itself and the interest of European peace." The maintenance of peace and security and the vital interests of Czechoslovakia cannot be ensured if these areas are not immediately handed over to the German Empire." The transfer of territory was supposed to take place quickly and without a referendum. The deadline for the answer was not long - only two days! After all, on September 22, British Prime Minister Chamberlain was supposed to meet with Hitler... Think about it: The offer made to Czechoslovakia was essentially a call for the suicide of the entire country.

If the Germans had the resources, the Russians did, it would’ve been a totally different outcome.. They would’ve destroyed Russia

As far as Hitler was concerned the winter gear had been delivered, The problem was the Russian railroad gauge was different than in the west. The trains stopped in Poland and the gear was sitting at railroad sidings waiting to be delivered. Since there was only single dirt roads in Russia and everything had to be be delivered by truck they carried what they could but, food, ammo and fuel took top priority. The second year the railroad track gauge had been changed so German trains could run on Russian track but, that first year was rough. The 2nd year they had almost too much gear. Russians were very careful to not let the Germans capture any Russian engines that first year. They were rigged with explosives just in case.

@@johnzubil2875 I'd suggest you get a book on the subject. You'll find that WW2 has quite an extensive historical record. After a few hours reading you'll know all the reasons and motivations, from all sides and their respective causes.

These young men family’s was so proud of them for undertaking a selfless decision for there country. Many of these men would have never had any of the opportunities they did just living a normal life. It was either the workhouse or the army.

They knew, that the western allies fought the wrong enemy. They asked themselves, whether the western allies know that too.

The Germans never understood why the US and UK were allied with the Soviets. They expected the Western Allies to come to their senses, but the Germans didn't know FDR was a hardcore communist simp and Churchill was a corrupt warmonger.
