Okay just gunna do some corrections as time has passed to allow some of these to be more accessible. 1# the Kul'TIRAN falcon does have alternate tamable versions from uldum assaults. 2# the gnome starter is a tamable rare that spawns in the gnome starter zone. anyone with the engineering item and luck can get it. 3# the Void elf starter pet can now be tamed on Argus. 4# the brown armored direhorn is from the Isle of thunder, specifically somewhere in the "Diremoor" area. 5# firelands was a cata raid not a mists of Pandaria raid lol. I had to point that out. 6# less a correction, more a tip. You don't need to fall to your near death to tame Ban'Thalos. There's a tree nearby where he patrols and if you angle yourself JUST right, you can sit on top of it and tame him when he flies within range. 7# spectral griffon is NOT faction specific, Horde can tame it too if they are lucky and are able to find it without dying. the raptor equivalent is the same, alliance can tame him too.
Pinned this, yeah I made too many mistakes for comfort. One of my first vids, thank you for summarizing this for the audience! More well-researched episode 2 in the works. Thanks again!! 👌👌
@@xBLUMONKEY the lowland mana-shell is also available to tame inside the Suramar raid in the Gardner boss area you don't even need to fight the boss it's just sitting close by
#3 the void elf starter can also be tamed in the SW horrific visions, it’s a rare that swims around in the canals in between the areas, spawns pretty frequently to in my experience I got 2 of them in back to back runs
Firstly I appreciate the effort, just a few things. The three pets in molten front. Its a long arse quest chain to unlock that place so if you want them be prepared for the long haul. Skoll has 4 spawn points. As someone mentioned below the red porcupine spawns where you marked on your map, the green one is in Jade Forest and the blue one is up Kun-Lai Summit. Also the robot rabbit is out in the world all can tame he spawns north of Iceflow Lake east of gnomeregan. Also those crystal cats from Argus, I only tamed the rare Sabuul and didn't need meat, might just need it for commons or might have been removed. Treble the black mechanical wolf, from witchwood flight point follow the path north looking for oil stains... was a fun hunt. Oh and last thing, lightning paw... the eyes are under a tonne of bushes, they dont mean anything, he has 5 spawn points the rest are just teasers.
As for the Pantharas - actually there are two versions of them that you can tame without the meat - one is Sabuul as you mentioned, the other one (light blue/ silver) you can find in the dungeon "Seat of the Triumvirate". For all other versions you still need the meat.
I died many times on that attempt without slow fall. I agroed him and had him follow ontop the lake, i took the shot and fell without damage. And there i tamed him.
Loque'nahak was the reason I started playing wow and a hunter to tame this beast back in Cata when I joined. He is still my go to pet. Such a throwback.
My favorite challenge tame? Deth’tilac! I roped my significant other into doing that with me so that we struggled a little less. And that... sucked, tbh, it took us forever, but it’s awesome, great memory. My Shadra (the spider Loa) worshipping troll MUST have every spider mount in game, so... that had to be done, lol. But also? FINALLY got Loque’nahak today on my alt. I’m so hype, been running around with him all day. That, and I nabbed Huolon because everyone’s busy with the prepatch. Having WAY too much fun with the cool tames today. xD (Now I want to do the Gryphon on Horde... oof. It’s doable I believe, as is Gon for Alliance, but opposite faction tames for those are rough.)
Great job! FYI the porcupines each had their own challenge. 1. The green one in Jade Forest would keep healing it self and you could only tame it at low health. So you had to be ready to interrupt. Immune to freeze trap. 2. The same goes for the Blue one in Kun-Li but he would charge you and he could two shot you at the time. Not sure now. 3. The red one was the worst. Only tamable at low health, it had a permanent speed boost, two shot melee kill, and a ranged attack just as strong. You had to keep it slowed, and kite it till you could tame it. The real challenge was that there was a small window of distance where it could not attack you. If you got too far away it would shoot you. If it got too close, then bite you to death. I saw it wipe 6 different 5 man teams. It would eat the tank first then shoot the Healer, before taking the rest out. Easier as a solo hunter. Great challenge though.
I lvled up a hunter in bfa with that exp buff they gave us in last patch just to use him for mount farming. Never played hunter b4 and i used the starting pet and tamed a random cat along the way and that's all i tamed in whole lvling process. Was thinking of rolling BM main in SL but after watching this i'm a little bit scared to try such an intricate class for the 1st time in 2020. after so many years of wow. I had 0 idea about pet mechanics, taming, requirements, abilities, stable storage, etc. was involved and to this depths. Kinda daunting. Not what I was expecting from what is know as beginner friendly class to be honest. Your vid was pretty insightful thank you so much.
On mechagon there is a rare named "Scrapclaw", a very unique model of a crab. Looks like mechanical but is actually in the crab family, sou you don't need the matrix. Plus you can tame a voidwalker on Argus, Mac'Aree I think.
Thanks! Yeah the void elf one is just color specific, granted it is really similar, but its the only one with THAT shade of purple 🤙🤙 thanks for the love tho my guy!
ALSO, the indication that Lightning Paw has spawned is NOT the glowing eyes in the bushes. The majority of the bushes in Duskwood have the glowing eyes. Just fly into the bushes and hover over it.
I have Arcturis, the spirit beast bear, got super lucky with him. i just so happened to be questing in the area with my hunter during WotLK and logged on into that log cabin rest area right next to his spawn. Came out, looked to the left and saw him. I already knew about him previously so i got pretty excited and tamed him immediately. I have the green spirit beast porcupine as well. I farmed Gondria, a purple spirit beast tiger in Zul'Drak for hours at a time for years and still never found it though... very annoying.
Haha that's the game for you!! So many pets on this list I havent even BOTHERED to try with lol. I did just learn about a few more molten spiders in the same area all with different mechanics, I'm sure there a vid out there for those too! Congrats on Arcturis tho!
I remember waiting for days to get Arcturis! I was ecstatic when I finally tamed him, lol. I got lucky with Terropene though. He was there the very first time I went to get him.
The feathermane ability UPDRAFT is the most powerful ability of all the pets, at least as a utility ability. It can be macro'd in with Disengage. Heck you might be able to macro it into every ability to keep it active 100% of the time. I have used it from Dalaran in Northrend, Disengage out of the city heading south to the ocean, and continue using disengage w/updraft every CD of disengage to keep yourself air borne until floating into the fatigue area in the ocean. I think I nearly hit the edge of the map there as well. This is awesome when in new zones or zones in general that do not allow flying. It sort of feels like the movie "A-TEAM" when they are in the tank, parachuting it from the aircraft, firing the canon, "What the hell are they doing?!?" , "I think they are flying the tank , sir!" Indeed, you can turn tour character, and disengage in a different direction and float that way. Damn, its loads of fun! Of course, things as awesome as this come with its downsides. I lost count how many times I have DE'd off a cliff, or down a steep hill, only to end up thoousands of yards away, or simply landing in the middle of a ton of Elite's. Hilarity ensues.
I tamed Ban'thalos by perching on the tippy top of a very tall tree in his path. It takes a while to land on it but it is doable. The problem is, you can't use a freezing trap, you have to tame him while he is beating the snot out of you.
We used be able to just drop traps at our feet, so you would freeze trap the top of the tree then pull. He would freeze just in time for you to survive.
Hey friend! Great video. I just wanted to add that you mentioned the lost spectral griffin was faction specific. It’s tamable by horde as well! It was difficult to say the least but definitely possible! Happy hunting
Hey! Yeahhhhhh i didn't know that at the time of this video, or that Gon is tameable by alliance 😅 I've actually learned a lot through making mistakes and being corrected by my viewers. So thank you! And happy hunting 🍻
Good video bud, I'm liking your content. A real fun tracking tame for BM in Pandaria Jade Forest is "Savage" the white tiger, give that a good time hunt!
Also, FYI, Dethtilac is not the only challenge tame spider in molten front, there are 5 challenge tame spiders in MF, Dethtilac isn't even the hardest one to get
You can get around the hassle of slowing and kiting Deth'tilac by having a Druid hold him in place with Entangling Roots while you do the rinse and repeat of pet sacrifice to drop his health.
I hadn't been keeping up on all of the news. But just today I noticed our stable slots went from 5 pages to 30 pages i think. I only noticed because I was sorting my pets and began to notice a large number of blank pages of slots. This is a very welcome change.
For sureeee dude make sure to check out Ravenclaws addon Aspect of the Hunter, makes your stables way easier to see and also has pet tracking features 👌 its on twitch and curseforge
I got Super Lucky one night... I had been going to Somber Dawn's island spawn point for weeks and he was never around... then one night about 11pm there were a bunch of Legion demon portals open on the island (no idea if that was relevant... I just started replaying after a long hiatus away from the game). I decided to wait around and kill the demons as they spawned. *Then* just as I was about to give up and log out, SilverDragon announced the rare spawn Somber Dawn had just spawned!! Fortunately, there was NO competition! Saw him run past, dropped a freeze trap and DONE! Got myself this gorgeous beauty... and he even kept his original name! ^_^ (Lyralei - Hydraxis) Now if I could *just* get thru that stupid endless maze and get Lucid Nightmare mount... >_< Sigh...
Pandaria rare tames are my fave, they are really challenging (they're not just 4 or 5 spots where you can find them but they just walk a path through all the area)... I have savage, patrannache and hexapos (patrannache was the hardest to spot!)
Props to your dedication! Here I am making videos about it and I don't even have that patience 😅 congrats! I do like the pandaria rares too, according to wow-petopia.com were getting tameable cloud serpents! 😱😱 we'll see if it actually happens tho
Maybe they changed it recently, but the MoP tracking pets usually won't stop when you find them, even if you attack. The tactic was Flare them into being visible, freeze trap them, and then tame- if they move out of range of the flare you lose target.
Yeah after doing more research on episode 2 of this guide (working on it now) I've found that out. Thanks for the advice tho! Lots of stuff I didnt know when I made this video actually haha
Actually one other way was once you flare them, just hit them with Hunters Mark. They would then stay visible only to you, so another hunter would have a harder time stealing the tame.
Ummm... i know for certain you are wrong on the bunny(mech), & void stalkers. The void stalkers can be done in the void ridden spots of angrus(legion area), and in sw nightmare vision. Perhaps you should have checked your facts & used a competent resource. There is even a named void stalker you can get. It's a legion rare, so. Pretty damn easy & common if you look & wait.
Didnt realize wowhead wasnt a competent resource. And yes I'm now aware that the bunny and voidstalker have been updated to be tameable in the open world. This was one of the first videos i made and since creating content I've found other sources to cross reference with. Thanks for being so polite about it!
@@xBLUMONKEY ...wowhead really isn't competent. Other the a location data. The comments are more often then not out dated & misleading around hunter pets. -- as well this 'update' is before even the updated gryphan models you show off (they are nice but where tamable in a patch of it or after) the 'classic' gryphan. That as said, the gon & spectal gryphan are not locked to a faction. It's just ..... their location & if you're good enough to stealth in & click the item. My worgen has both... i got the gryphan 2nd. The mech bunny one is..... stupid old as well. Hell i think i got that maybe a month or two after mech pets where tamable. It was just a trip.(yes still got that item)
I spent 3 montgs trying to get loque in the original WotLK. I made a hunter on a new server and tamed him twice…when my hunter was 3 days old. (Real time not game, like 6hrs game time.)
Karoma seems to be either the most untamed or unused spirit beast. I am not sure if it is relevant now but you did have to get fully naked to tame Ghostcrawler as his damage was calculated from your armour stats. So back in cata hitting tame ended up in a oneshot death on you also he was trap proof, but he may of been nurfed over the past decade.
That one was back in vanilla right? I think a lot of people go with updated models, at least i do 🤷♀️ loque'nahaks model still holds up tho 👌 I'm not 100% sure nowadays, I couldn't find anything regarding that in the research guides I used in this video 🤔 I believe you though, I'm a pretty new player. I did play back in the day but didn't even make it to endgame
@@xBLUMONKEY Karoma can be found in Twilight Highlands a cata zone but is based on the Vanilla wolves model. Spirit Beasts first appeared in Wrath so Taming Skoll or Lonque who where the hardest to get back then was a part of BM end game the other part was mastering reverse disengage. You have made a very good video btw keep up the good work. You got my sub =)
@@Supermazio64 thank you!! Welcome to the squad! 😎😎 and thank for the lesson! The community has propelled my knowledge so much, idk how far back in understanding I'd be if I hadn't started making videos 🙏🙏
So here's my question. If you start as a hunter who starts with a unique pet, for example the Dark Iron Dwarf, and later down the line you race change... Would you still have that pet?
Yup! Same thing if you start, for example, a mechagnome hunter: you can tame mechanical pets WITHOUT the mechabond imprint matrix, change races, and still use the mechanical pet 🤙
You’re wrong about Lightning Paw. Just because you see eyes in a bush, it does NOT mean you’ve found him. Just fyi, nearly every bush in the area has eyes shining
Great video man, several of these pets I have seen around but didn't know the names or where to find them. So thank you and you gained another subscriber!!!
Hey FYI there is a tree that you can get on top of and fly up from so that you don't drop so far, just fly up from the top of that tree pull him drop down ice trap tame wallah
molten core is cata end game not mop.. but thank you some pets i didn't know about and i consider myself a serious collector only reason i have not been taming much since legion is cause my damn journal is at max and i cant carry any more rare pets i wouldn't abandon,
I have managed to get all the rare tames while the expansion they come from was active over the years, some luck, some camping. I loved the cata challenge tames, especially deth'tilac. Have all the spirit beasts, all the cata/molten front rares, humar, echeeyakee (as alliance), fez monkey, nuramoc all the raid and dungeon special guys etc love my stable lol, used to have a pig that was always on fire for years but blizzard took the flames away in WoD, sneaking into orgrimar for the raptor was a lot of fun too lol
Dude I live in orgimmar and still don't have the raptor 🤣 what an achievement tho! I gotta make a second edition of this video, I've learned of pets from the community that I didn't even know about!
@@xBLUMONKEY haha yeah its funny on my blood elf hunter i still havent managed to tame Gon when i got it on alliance i swooped in clicked egg and tamed then had to fight like hell to get back out, should of just died but was a blast fighting them off long enough to mount up
Hmmm maybe I'll put that in my "episode 2"!! 🤔 I've gotten a lot of new knowledge of cool pets from the comment section on this video, definitely putting another one up soon! Also, stoked to have you on the channel Soullscape! I actually mentioned you in my "best bm hunter pvp pets" regarding your playstyle, glad to have you mate 😊
Wow, this is an awesome video. Looks like I got a to do list! Also xblumonkey the spirit moose, Bulvinkle, I believe, is probably a reference to an old cartoon show, The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends
Thanks! Yeah I'm sure it is! Only reason I know that is from a place in seattle called the family fun center, also known as Bullwinkle's 😋 I think I did see the cartoon when I was verrrrry young, glad you liked the video!
@@xBLUMONKEY Haha yeah! That's awesome, I remember the short evil dude being on a product of fruit punch juice! Keep up the videos, I am looking to go back to hunter since vanilla so this some excellent content for me to watch!
I spent 4 days camping with around 2 hours of sleep for loque'nahak back in wotlk. Not for the weak minded, probably shorter respawn time now then back then
Holy shit! Yeah I'm a legion baby so I can't relate, that's fucking bad ass tho I admire your commitment! I wanna get myself that terrorpene here soon but idk if I have the fortitude 🤣
For some reason I love camping rare spawns like that! When i found loque'nahak i could've cried i was so happy! It's such a thrill 😅 You can imagine my excitement when i found Time Lost lmao
You got it! Make sure to check the comments for corrections to this video, a couple things I missed or didn't know 🤷♀️ also just uploaded episode 2 of this guide, and have many other pets vids up if you need more resources. Happy hunting!
Savage also have a trick like Portent .. you should fine his track but you follow the track upside down .. if the track go norht you shoud follow the track by go south, like he move back off. Savage is a nice with tiger. in Pandaria.
the spirit beast in stormwind, you have to be a certain level to even see the feather, i believe its 100 to see it but you can tame him at any level. so if you want him at a lower level you'll need another high level hunter who can see the feather to click on it for you
Banthalos...use a flying mount land on top of a tree near by his flightpath...drop the mount so your standing on the top of the tree do the complete fight from there obviously cant move but no HUGE drop...how i got him
First video to get over 100 likes!!! Thank you all so much for your support! Y'all are my motivation! Edit: UPDATE!! I just wanted to thank you all, not only for tuning in but for all the love and support and even criticism! Without you I wouldn't be the player or creator I am today, I am truly humbled. This vid bouta go viral tho! See you all in the next video! 💙 #onelove
@@xBLUMONKEY Dude that fake Portent tame was bad. Also, the different colors of the porcupines are spread over Pandaria. One is in the Jade Forest for example.
Actually in argus in the field not necesary go to a raid. The top part of the 3.places dont remember the name right now but was the last part of the chain quests
I have 7 lv 120 hunters - my thought - if you create a hunter that has a unique starting pet of that race, and you race-change - does it keep the pet, or does it change it to the pet it would have as the race you change into?
