Well that could go boom. I had a friend that would take a cutting torch and light it and adjust the flame just right and then snuff it out with the acetylene and oxygen still on and then fill a balloon with that, then lay it on the ground and take a long stick and light the end of it and ... well you can imagine the boom that makes! To me .. the 8 foot stick wasn't long enough.

Yea got one. as you know I work really slow. Do a little ... see how it looks and works and make improvements accordingly. Actually I'm gonna remove the compressor and go thru it since I see it has potential. I plan on running the air intake to the front of the radiator so it can suck some really cool air then install the filter I have for it.

I hear ya! One guy on RU-vid with same compressor and 8 gallon tank revved it up real good and filled it in 5 seconds. It's was on tape too so real deal!

Yea .. I hear ya. Gonna build a cool home made filter dryer. It has it's own oil bath like an old air cool motor and some oil may get past the rings ... we'll see!

Should be more than enough to raise it several times. The air bags are roughly a gallon size x6 (with trailer) and the tank is 7 gallons. Only gonna need about 30psi or less in the bags and the tank will have 100psi.

Relieve the pressure and let er rip! LOL

Lot more than $300 .. but I was not smart and frugal buying fittings. It's a learning experience.

Ha haa. I would say any compressor that has an oil sump, but I see guys using all kinds for pumping air. The ones without an oil sump probably don't last long though!

Good question! Still working on that! This ole compressor has an oil sump like and ole air cool engine but it does pump some of the oil out the discharge. I'm waiting on my gasket and seal kit to come in and I'm gonna go thru it to see if I can slow the oil spitting down some. Stay tuned!

Not sold ... my stuff is not for sale but it does have a "not for sale price" but only after I'm done with it ... built it and played with it. In other words ... money is king when you need money to do what you do! I probably build an average of a car per year and as you know ... that cost money. And ... I live for the build ... not so much for the finished product. I don't need a bunch of Rat Rods to drive. I may take offers for it after it's done but not before!

Yea ... that's the problem with a vehicle that drops to the ground. Anything could go wrong. I don't have it all figured out yet.

It's just a pressure switch off an old air compressor. One side goes to 12v and the other to the compressor. The switch has two poles on each side but you only need one for this.

I was thinking just that on the filter side of things. Why not motor oil? The guys that convert them for a living say it's not picky .. use the same oil you run in your motor. Thanks for the tap tip. Yes the trailer air will be a quick connect.

@@RatRodBobBuilds Use non detergent compressor oil. A quick lesson on oil, Detergent in motor oil keeps the crud and dirt thats in the engine oil in suspension so the oil filter can pick it up, old engines, compressors, lawnmowers, and windmills that do not have filters need non detergent oil so the crud and dirt can settle out and make sludge at the bottom and not float around gitting into the bearings over and over. Slip a strong magnet in the sump and let it help grab the Fe. metal. Places like tractor Supply sells compressor oil. Heat will cook the check valves, with out the Freon to cool them, keep an eye on the run times. You may have felt the outlet tube on your shop compressor when running, larger compressors use finned tubing to help cool the air coming out of the pump. Be carful using plastic line out of the pump, it will melt and pop. Under hood temps start @180 and could get to 200 just driving this summer. No bare feet on the firewall. Add a water drain to the air tank. I hope this helps.

Rat Rod Bob Builds I kept on shout that at the screen but the dang thing kept on huffin' n puffin' like that gal's happiness was all that mattered!

It's on there under the pressure switch. The system is gonna have all the bells a whistles ... pop off valve ... genie check valve with auto unloader ... filter dryer ... gauges for everything ..... quick connect for air hose ... stay tuned!

Ha haa. Well it's not a Ford compressor .. it's a York, and you do know GM had to be bailed out but not Ford ... right? And .. my daily driver is a Mopar 300M. Go figure!

It's off and old compressor that was 110 ac. It's just contacts ... works with any current.
