@Outlaw By Nature which is probably the smart thing to do considering hes going against mostly superpowered being, wtf is Damian sword going to do against half the characters on the roster lol
@@Arthurmagicknight I would've loved something similar to the concept of Tremor from Mortal Kombat X, where some of his variants let him swap between stuff like gold or lava themed attacks Imagine being able to swap Firestorms "element" and then having attacks with different effects for each Like having a steel based on that hits hard but slow or a nuclear based one with explosions and AOE attacks
Doctor Fate: literally wears the helmet of a god, the most powerful wizard out there, agent of the mighty Lords of Order. Super move: throws you around inside his necklace.
Fun fact the Bull Atrocitus creates is an emotional Entity and is called "The Butcher" and is basically the manifestation of pure Rage. Someone else commented on it but he is actually saying his lantern oath. Which goes like "With blood and rage of crimson red, ripped from a corpse so freshly dead. Together with our Hellish Hate we'll Burn you all that is your fate!" Which as a lantern fan I find so cool.
Personally, I think the Red Lantern's super is the best of the game...the reciting of the Red Lantern oath as he's beating some poor slob down puts it over everyone else, IMO.
His reaction to Green Lantern's was fucking hilarious cause it's true. It's just whatever lol. That's why Batman always makes fun of Hal. His ring is powered by imagination, which Hal...lacks.
Someone might've already said this but I can't find it here, so I'll say it: Joker's super is probably a reference to the time he tortured Robin, beat the shit out of him with a Crowbar and then blew up the building with the kid inside. "Brutal" is an understatement :D
@@slasherJehC i think when he said that he meant if Joker in injustice 2 performed the supermove on Robin it would be just like in the comics(except a different robin)
I still remember when Max was making fun of him when he was playing him "Throw these bats! My daddy's rich! Don't you ever talk to me again! Where's my Bentley?"
Best part about Scarecrow is he isn't actually fighting. He's using his gas to make his opponent see him as this powerful monster, so the whole fight is all in their head (excluding if they win, because then they still beat him up despite his illusion)
And the fact that his super used a massive version of himself is a very cool detail, biologically animals often fear things that are bigger than then because they're likely dangerous. So his scariest form is giant
Dr Fate: *uses an ankh, the Egyptian symbol of life, as part of his character design and they incorporate it into his super in an obviously Egyptian tomb Max: "the christian symbol"
I feel like they could have had him doing more trick arrows, maybe, like he flips you up in the air, rolls back and does 4 quick shots with different effects, then you hit the exploding arrow and he says something snappy?
they should've had him set up a tripwire arrow, launch the opponent into and slingshot them toward him, and the final hit should be a boxing glove arrow as a throwback.
I also want to add, Firestorm got one of the most mishandled supers in the game. While his name is „Firestorm“, his powers are actually that he can create any object he knows the atomic structure of. But in the game, they mainly designed him to be DC‘s version of the Human Torch. His Super should‘ve been that he literally creates multiple different areas and locations where he attacks you in and then create a mini nuke and blow it up in front of you instead of... whatever he did now.
Personally I find Superman’s super’s to kind of suck. He has so many powers that they could have utilized in his supers from both part 1 and 2. They always just have him fly and punch
Greatest part about Poison Ivy's super: the man eating plant's canon name (according to the Harley Quinn series) is Frank. Nothing special. Just Frank.
I love the fact that when Ivy tries to grab you to throw you back to the stage, frank just doesn't want to release you from it's jaws like "no no, lemme eat dammit"
@@CocoaBeans101 It can be either. "Frank" is a flower from way later into Ivy's carrer, but we don't have any specifics on where in the Prime timeline Injustice takes place. It can be anywhere from the 90's, to well into the New 52/Current.
DeathFor That was only the first one and it was never shown in the sequel that they still used that pills. On top of that, there's no indication of how long the pills effects wear off.
I just wish they took u 2 a different “crazy place” other than the green lantern place, or changed the color and symbol, and I especially wish dat changing his color 2 black would make him actually look like a black lantern instead of a regular guy wearing a black lantern ring, and instead of wut frankly looks like gray light, have shadow or darkness instead
Grodd's was so disapointing. You have a psychic gorilla that levitate boulders and mind control people, as well as the fact that he has an army of other psychic gorillas! And all they do is have him punch you a lot. 1/10
NRS: We should make the super for Raiden take you to an mkx stage, do a bunch of airborne and cool thunder looking attacks, and then have the dragon from the MK logo deliver a satisfying bit of fanservice to top it off. Also NRS: haha Monky go smash.
Cyber Gnoll instead of punching several times they should change it to control his opponents to punch themselves, break their arms, and finally Grodd should bite his opponents necks and throw them away. I think that would be more brutal
Ok honestly, can we talk about how badly Grodd was cheated when it came to his Super in this game? You have a hyper-intelligent, telekinetic Gorilla who wants Apes to take over the world, and has actually tried to devolve Humans to Apes to achieve this, and the best they could do was THAT??? Come on Netherrealm...
Grodd being squandered was my biggest gripe with this game, hopefully he can return somehow in a future title with a more focused telepathic/ape rage moveset
I was really disappointed with Grodd’s super, I thought a cool idea would be that he throws you in Gorilla City, where you’re surrounded and beaten up by a large crowd of his ape people, and they keep rag dolling you and beating you until Grodd jumps in for the finishing blow.
@Eye Patch Guy Lobo is a DLC character. They need to vary. So it's normal he's not in the second game. For Deathstroke tho... it's arguable. The roster needed fresh air. But yeah Slade wasn't the smartest choice for eviction. He was a pretty important character in the first game story and shouldn't be evicted like Killer Frost, Doomsday or Solomon Grundy which have near to zero importance in the story.
Same reason certain characters dont show up in mk11. I cant remember who said it I believe it was Ed Boon but they basically said with every game and DLC they want to bring back someone new and try to not bring in old characters. Also just a personal theory but sense I don't remember deathstroke being in the injustice 2 comic's so I dont know how you could fit him in. I'm sure there might have been a way.
I really enjoyed Scarecrow’s super. Considering it’s all happening in the opponent’s mind. The grave was a nice touch. It kind of reminded me of the transition stage in Injustice 1 where Scarecrow stabs you in the neck with his needles and you slowly see the opponent start to lose it.
For anyone who doesn’t understand cyborg’s finisher: Cyborg’s power source is a mother box, which is connected to Darkseid. Darkseid rules apokolips, and uses mother boxes to open “boom tubes” or dimensional portals. In the super cyborg opens a boom tube to apokolips and uses a parademon to attack his enemy then blasts both the parademon and opponent at the same time.
I think it's more they don't have a good impact on the final hit. Most of them have a good final blow, but it just doesn't feel as powerful as it looks like it should be. Making it seem really off and weak at the end. Of course there are absolutely some that don't even have a proper last hit. Just think most of them do, but don't execute it well.
Like every single punch or kick or slap or whatever in these supers has the most muted sound effect ever and it immediately halves the point scale of most of these. It's like having an FPS but your guns sound like staplers, you just don't do it. (Although I say that, but I love the FAMAS in Black Ops 1 even though it's like the most feral stapler ever)
It seems to be a problem in general with the game. 99.9% of the sounds in game feel like theres nothing behind it. Like if a sword is swung there should be a sound with that. If superman punches you there should be an impact sound with it. Honestly when I first played the game I thought my tv was fucked up cause it sounded like the sounds were muffled a lot. Like they forgot to turn up the volume somehow
@@darknesswave100 Either they were high at the mixing/mastering board, were attempting to make them as "realistic" as possible, or both. Which for a fighting game, is the worst thing really. You want the sounds to hit as hard as the moves look, like in Smash Bros or even Street Fighter.
Animation and sound design is a recurring issue in NRS games that was somehow ignored by a lot of fans for decades. The A.B.I.torials from Sugar Punch Design Works covered this several times but the majority didn't listen. Until recently when many are starting to notice the cracks.
Starfire’s is definitely of my favourites as in that beginning part when she’s lobbing her energy balls or whatever, that is actually a reference to a scene in the beginning of the Teen Titans intro theme
@@SilentAndy raven was _ugly_ in the last game tho and netherrealm just saw her as "spooky demon girl" if she comes back, I imagine she won't be much different
@@cheeseburgerthe1st602 I think you've hit the nail on the head. That fused with the sound design being, although not bad, just kinda weak, so the hits kinda feel like taps instead of full hits
The Flash: Let me see I already hit you into the sphynx and a dinosaur, what else can I hit you into? *looks at his bleeding enemy* oh of course. Next injustice game I want flash's super to be him going to different timelines and beating every version of his enemy that he can find hahahahahaah
To me Atrocitus' is a 10/10 for two reasons mainly 1) He says the end of the Red Lantern's oath 2) He summons the Butcher Overall it's one of my favorite supers in the entire game
I think it's fair to say Atrocitus' super hinges on knowledge of the actual comic book reference for it to have a bigger impact. If you don't know who he is or what his deal is, its a rather mediocre super.
10:53 Dark seid's super is actually a reference to the first injustice cause He smashes you into the bits of the watch tower which exploded in the first game.
13: The Flash 10: Aquaman, the Ninja Turtles, Raiden, Scarecrow, and Sub-Zero 9: Atom, Atrocitus, Brainiac, Captain Cold, Catwoman, the Joker, Poison Ivy, Starfire, and Swamp Thing 8: Bane, Batman, Black Adam, Black Lightning, Black Manta, Darkseid, Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Robin, Supergirl, and Superman 7: Cheetah, Cyborg, Enchantress, Green Arrow, Hellboy, and Red Hood 6: Doctor Fate, Firestorm, and Green Lantern 5: Black Canary, Blue Beetle, and Wonder Woman 3: Gorilla Grodd
That's how I'm gonna flirt from now on, "Hey girl, you want me to fist you back to earth?" However I will probably need bail money as I would've been (rightfully) arrested for being a creep. Lol
Was that the one with Jack Nicholson joker, tommy lee jones two face, or Danny devito penguin? My memory is shoddy and for the life of me I can’t remember which is which.
I completely agree with Scarecrows. I love the reality changing and the fact he has everyone’s name on the gravestone at the end. It’s so awesome! I’m glad you think it’s a 10/10 too 😁😁
Actually Atrocitus is not talking shit to you while he's beating you down. "Together with *our* hellish hate, *we* will burn you all, that is your fate." That's the Red Latern Core mantra. It's their "In brightest day, in blackest night" poem. Also an Anhk is not a Cross, Max. Anhks are Egpytian religous symbols. Rebirth and stuff related to Osiris. Crosses are just generic things you impaled criminals on in Roman times. It's a very different thing.
For a normal dude with just 4 basic tools under his belt, Deadshot’s super is probably my favorite. The way how he’s able to chain his punch into a knife stab, then into the arm gun thing, ending it all in a stylish, no-look catch, rifle shot. It perfectly exemplifies what the character is all about; a hitman with high IQ that uses tactics and skills to execute his plan
I thought Darkseid's was a total 9/10 or even 10/10. it was F*ing COOL. And even turned around when doing his omega beam. Then a giant fist pulls you back IN but it's actually HIS FIST!! It's straight up same caliber of coolness and creative factor as Flash's.
Look if you're gonna take up so much of the player's time with these then you should at least take them somewhere nice or show them something neat. With Gorilla Grodd you just get screamed at.
I actually really like Wonder Woman's super. What it lacks in over-the-top spectacle it makes up for with really creative choreography; I love that she throws both her sword and shield into her opponent, then LANDS on that opponent, the force of which sends her sword and shield up in the air again and into her hands.
@@danii206 Must be from a long, long time back. All the same he would likely not find much to enjoy since most supers in ASB and EoH are hard references to the original works.
@@GolemSoldierNo15 I know right I was a raven main back in injustice 1 and now she’s gone. Kinda sucks but I’ve found supergirl, cat woman and enchantress to be a lot of fun.
I have to say, the sound mixing in this game feels a bit off. I just really didn't feel an "impact" with almost any of them. Especially from someone who's been playing GG, where the pops pop and the slashes slash, some of the ending of these supers was just like "piff" and it's done. Bleh.
Yeah, NetherRealm isn't anywhere NEAR as good at animation as they think they are (check out SugarPunch Design Works's channel for some great breakdowns on that), but their sound mixing is straight-up garbage and I think always has been.
Cyborg is the perfect example. That last sound lacked a great oomph. Green Lantern and Blue Beetle lacked a great impact as well. Swamp Thing, Joker, and The Flash had good design
Max on Subzero: A UTILIZATION OF EVERYTHING SUBZERO USUALLY DOES! 50/10 Max on everybody else: Ehhh, they're just doing what they usually do 2/10 lol stay pure Max I love you
Exactly, that and for Captain Cold was just a load of bullshit to be honest. Their supers are pretty lame and they've gotten a 9 and a 10. TEN?! For Sub's is just wrong, that means it's perfect and it ain't it chief
He kinda bad mouthed Green Lantern's when he is using his willpower to create a giant mecha and beating you with each piece as he makes it. 6/10 not enough Mortal Kombat.
I actually really like Enchantress’ super. Depending on what shader you have, it changes the colour of the clone. The clone also matches the cosmetic gear of the opponent.
I love Artocitus’ ultimate! The fact that he says the last lines of the red lantern core while beating up his opponent is so fitting. With boiling blood of crimson red, ripped from a corpse so freshly dead, together with our hellish hate, we’ll burn you all, that is your fate!!
Hey max love ur videos man. I was wondering if there’s a chance in the future would u consider ranking the Stage Transitions from Injustice 1 and 2. Just a video idea 💡 for I had. Keep up the good work and love u abd ur channel
yeah that's kinda the joke... it's pretty well known that a LOT of Marvel is copied from DC or other media Deadpool only exists cause a Marvel writer wanted to draw Deathstroke, for example it's an easy way to get under the skin of us few remaining DC fanboys
And honestly, The Atom has generally been 'ahead' of Ant-Man in popularity for all but very recently. They've both been sorta... in the back for most of their life, not really making it into the main stage, but The Atom got some nice spots in miniseries while Ant-Man was mostly known for hitting his wife. They both have an outside-comics spotlight now; The Atom in the Arrowverse and Ant-Man in the MCU. But before then they were both pretty C-tier at most, with The Atom occasionally getting a cameo in bigger things.
