I'm not surprised that you're not proud of such a dirty government. But we can be proud of our history. After the collapse of the communist bloc, this country deteriorated.
I’m from Australia but my grandma is Hungarian - it’s tradition in my family to drive an hour and a half to the Hungarian/Jewish bakery for beigli and sour cherry strudel. Truely a 10/10 in my opinion there is nothing better Also please post the recipe so I can recreate it 🙏🏽
I’m part Hungarian too and my grandmother used to make those all the time before she passed. I forgot about them and never knew their name until now, thank you for reminding me👍
As a Hungarian let me mention that if you use poppy seed grinder your poppy bejgli will be much flavoured and juicy because of the poppy oil. It's a big effort, a lot of Hungarian skip this step also, but it definitely worth it.
So true. Was gifted a grinder for this purpose and it made my beigli even better. It can be a bit rough with the whole poppy seeds, compared to the lovely smooth texture with ground seeds.
I am Hungry for some Bejgli right now. I'm not sorry. Tudta, hogy a magyar lakosságra jutó bejglik száma karácsonykor 1/fő/nap. Hogyha már így itt vagyunk Diós vagy mákos gang?
@@Eznemegymemesegitseg Nem is tett rá semmit. Normális emberek tesznek rá legalább fokhagymát de tejföl és sajt is elfér rajta. Basically budget Lángos.
Being a Hungarian, It was so heartwarming for me. Gour mother has an excellent recipe, your beigli was perfect, the logs didn’t crack, your are such a master pro
My mom makes this with my grandma every year around Christmas time. Even now that my immediate family and I live in the U.S, my mom still makes it over the phone with my grandma ❤❤
Bolgog karácsonyt kívánok! I did not know you were part Hungarian! 😊 I’m American but grew up in Hungary. Beigli is dear to my heart also…. 🥰 So glad to see it get a 10. 🏆
Interesting i didn’t know they were a hungarian dish. I live in Vienna and we have them everywhere during Christmas aswell, which actually makes a lot of sense now. They look amazing, i gotta get them soon again
I'm from Romania and realising that this recipe that we also use is hungarian, remembered me how many hungarian recipes we have (especially in Transylvania)
As a Hungarian myself, I would not give bejgli that high of a rating, but I'm happy you like them so much! I really enjoy this series, so fun seeing all the dishes around the world!
In Slovenia we eat a very similar dish and we call it potica. We use a walnut filling traditionally. Also, we are Hungary's neighbours so it makes sense. And yes, it is delicious
The fact that it didn't broke proves you have good cooking skills! Bit sad it is not Halászlé but can't complain! Save me some mákos bejgli 😊❤️ Boldog karácsonyt!!!
My grandmother is Croatian and she's been making a variation of this since as long as I can remember (even making a walnut and raisin filling that became my favourite!). I can't spell exactly what she would call it (started with an S but google is giving me conflicting answers) and seeing this just warms my heart♥
Wow, thank you! 😊🇭🇺 I would have thought that from Hungary you would pick töltött káposzta (stuffed cabbage) or halászlé (fish soup). Your bejgli looks gorgeous regardless! ☺️👍
As a Hungarian, I was so proud of ourselves, during I watched this video. I didn't think, that you give 10, but I'm so happy now. We also have a special christmas food, the kürtőskalács. It's from Transylvania, and we eat it in the christmas fairs.
@@destinedtogameopium opioids and opiates are made from poppyseeds. A Chinese noodle shop owner put some poppy seed oil in the noodle dough causing him to fail the test driving home after eating the noddles
@@destinedtogame Wikipedia: "Although the drug opium is produced by "milking" latex from the unripe fruits ("seed pods") rather than from the seeds, all parts of the plant can contain or carry the opium alkaloids, especially morphine and codeine. This means that eating foods (e.g., muffins) that contain poppy seeds can result in a false positive for opiates in a drug test. "
60 dkg flour 7 dkg of butter 3 dkg fresh yeast (or 7 g dried) 1 mk salt 1 mk sugar 4 dl of milk 2 egg yolks And the inside is poppy seeds and the another one is walnut! And always do this 2 - i mean there is no case where peoples do only 1 type 😅🧐 But maybe for you poppy seeds will be difficult to get it… 😅😂 (there is opium in it but “unreactive” the point is the test will get ophium level but you not get any effect…)
Bro this almost made me cry, it reminds me when christmas are calm, and not 1, but also 2 days. My mom and grandma made this every year, and yeah, im happy to live here, i love our lil. country, and our kitchen. Nostalgic video!
YES YES YES! I watched your shorts every day December to see Hungary and you did not disappoint me and my fellow Hungarian bois. Like for walnut, comment for poppy seed filling, I want to see a war
Day 12 of asking KWOOK to please provide the written recipes in the video description or comments! 🤗 Also someone asked for the song too, so let's include that too ☺️
inb4 "jUsT gOoGlE iT, yOU mOroN" One dish can have dozens of variations. And KWOOK has said multiple times to experimenting and modifying the recipes he uses. I genuinely don't understand why people are upset over me asking for a simple request 🤦♀️
@@eymennotreal I'm literally just asking for recipes. Thousands always request it in the comments but get ignored. So I thought I'd do a fun way to get our voices heard. So can I ask what's wrong with that? What would you rather suggest, that you think is more effective?
They should be ground!! He messed it up by skipping that step 😢 Poppyseed must be ground in a coffee grinder (with added sugar) before you bake with them. It releases the flavours & oils within the seeds and makes them 100x times tastier.
I mean it was part of Austria Hungary Probably taste better in Slovakia as I hear there’s Italian influence in the bread there at least according to someone I knew from there
I officially forgive you for the bundáskenyér incident. Those look amazing and I can't wait to gorge myself to death with them when christmass rolls around. Boldog Karácsonyt
I'm eating some nice homemade beigli as I'm watching this video omg!! I love your series, you are amazing! Merry Christmas Everyone! ❤️🎄 Boldog Karácsonyt! 🎁
Ah man when I ve seen you are going to make this series, since then im waiting for that video, as a hungarian it was a pleasure to see your rating on bejgli:3
